Why are we constantly sending our shittiest teams to London? We sent the Raiders and the Jags are up next. Is the NFL secretly trying to get London to hate football so they don't have to put a team there?

Hoping the AT&T merger with DirecTV lets me get Sunday Ticket on UVerse..

As for flags, I feel like I have to wait a few seconds after every big play or defensive stop on third down to see if a flag comes out. That's not how I should be watching the game..

DTV has pledge to expand Sunday Ticket availability to other subscribers. I wouldn't put it past U-Verse from getting it though; the merger specifically had an out clause for AT&T that if the NFL didn't renew the deal with DirecTV, they could cancel the merger.

London is a large market and people go to the games. The NFL is attempting to expand, and making a few million on sending two teams every couple weeks isn't awful. However, expanding a team there would prove problematic for travel purposes, especially for Monday night games where the teams play on Thursday in London.

The problem with the US sports is we don't have anything close to the Merseyside Derby (Liverpool vs Everton). Their stadiums are literally less than a mile apart. You can see the other from the top rows of the stadiums. It is a great rivalry. Our rivalries are 1000s of mile apart. I think the closest we have are the Lakers vs Clippers and the White Sox vs the Cubs, neither of which are of much significance.

Thursday nights are shitty nights for football attendance. Can't really tailgate before hand like you can on a Sunday. Can't take the kids since they'll be up till midnight and still have school on Friday. As an adult it sucks taking a PTO day off to recover from a football game the night before.

Sunday Afternoon games are much easier on fans.

I know people have been saying this for a long time, and I agree with them, but these TNF games are of terrible quality.

I will continue to watch them simply because I'll take NFL football basically any day of the week, but I'll be more content watching the MLB playoffs when they air on Thursday nights, while occasionally checking in on the NFL.

And btw, the Vikings may be competing for the worst record in the NFL this year if they keep this up.

Just look at this situation tonight: Bridgwater could have been rested and ready to play by Sunday (dude claims tomorrow night; who knows). Fact of the matter: you completely jeapordize any random team's chance of being competitive based on this shithole rest period.

minnesota is terrible team, obviously; but they deserved the chance to compete at their current best-known level. This Thursday night anomaly refused them that opportunity.
