Their next 6 games are Giants, Titans, Oakland, Texans, Browns, Bills. There's 4 wins in there somewhere putting them at 7-2 going into the bye.

I wouldn't underestimate the Giants, Texans, or Bills. After their bye weekend they have to play Denver and San Diego twice and also play the colts.

I think Chip isn't fully prepared for the NFL. Like last week - he didn't know he could call a timeout when Vick was hurt and had to sit out a play. Then he called really weird timeouts.

I don't think the constant hurry up offense will work in the NFL with a big play offense. Hurry up should be dink and dunk, which hadn't been the Eagles in a long time. So you don't sustain many drives and your defense ends up playing 40 minutes every game.

I just don't think the Eagles are a great team. Chip lucked into having a few playmakers on offense, but the defense just isn't great. The overall talent level of the team isn't there.

And did Andy Reid get fatter? Jesus lose some weight, you are making old Rex Ryan look thin

Its the red. The black and dark green helped hide a lot. Actually he might've gotten fatter too, he seriously said he ate at a new barbecue place in KC like every day during the offseason, and I know he ate at the good ones a lot.

I remember the beginning of the 2011 season, bitching that I would have to sit through yet another season of being forced to watch shit-ass Niners and Raiders football.

Those first two Niners games were mediocre wins, then they kept winning...by week 4 they looked amazing. by week 10 no one still believed they were legitimate, despite the comments from those that had been watching the games..

I wonder if the same happens with the Chiefs this year?

They have the makeup. Great D, great RB and a QB who doesn't turn the ball over. Reminds me of the 2011 49ers.

Pretty much this. Except the defense is worse than "just isn't great." A top flight QB (not Alex Smith on this night) should be able to pick them apart through the air all day long.

Please. They weren't spanked by KC so much as they self-destructed.
Do you happen to write for ESPN? Just wondering, because your bias is showing.

BTW, I called for the Chiefs to be the resurgence team before the season started, I don't want any of you to give me shits.

Well I guess if Andy is winning games who gives a fuck, bring out the KC bbq with extra sauce!

Weis was also really fat when he showed up to KC. Haven't seen how he looks at KU, but damn, him and Romeo looked like they were striving to make the Biggest Loser.

I don't think the KC area is good for people that lack food control.

That sounds a lot like the 2010 Chiefs. You want to know why people don't buy in? Their QBs.

The Texans and Broncos are the only teams I think are clearly a step above. The Texans need to play better though. Other than the Browns and Oakland which are a step below, I think the Chiefs are competitive with rest you mentioned. Not clear winners or losers.

And the 2010 Chiefs, and the 1990s Chiefs. I don't know if I need to keep saying this, but Chiefs fans have seen this shit before.

Its like the 90s all over again in KC, only we'll see if Arrowhead gets to rocking as much as it did back then. Stout D (Houston might even make a play for DT's single game sack record the way he's been playing), good running (if they use it), solid to good STs (excepting the kicker who shall not be named), and castoff 49ers QB.

You want to know what really bites? Supposedly the Chiefs were going to draft Kaepernick in the 1st round of 2011, everyone wanted him, but Pioli overruled them and drafted Jon Baldwin.

Pretty much this. Except the defense is worse than "just isn't great." A top flight QB (not Alex Smith on this night) should be able to pick them apart through the air all day long.

Exactly. But, that's the thing, the Chiefs dominated the Eagles, they're just limited that the scoreboard didn't show it because they're limited by the QB. Alex Smith couldn't pick apart the fucking Jaguars.

Do you happen to write for ESPN? Just wondering, because your bias is showing.

Big whoop, so did fucking everyone else. They also did that the year before and in 2009 (hell only reason they weren't in 2011 was because they had a "good" year in 2010). This team is exactly what I expected. Defense is good, special teams is solid, and the offense is held back by the QB. And that's with Alex playing well, well about as well as he can.

God I can't wait until they can dump him like the 49ers. But then, I'm still worried they won't.

Hey darkswordman, just shut up dude. Thanks.

Did Alex Smith rape your mom, and then let you grow up a bastard or something?

I'm beginning to think that not only your football IQ is deficient, but your actual IQ is not even relevant in any sense.

While I think the Seahawks will obliterate the Jags, I have a feeling they will get two feel goals just so it can be said that the lowly Jags doubled SF's output!

Also heard on the radio today about a group in San Francisco starting a petition that would ban the noise level at Seahawks games! No wonder some call then the FortyWhiners. I imagine this will only backfire on them in future games.

Does any favor crowd level noise penalties, like they had circa 2007 in domes? Seahawks play outdoors.

AWWW, 49ERS FANS ARE SAD OVER ALL THAT SCAWWWY CROWD NOISE (Actual headline, not mine)

It's a semi-dome IIRC and yes, the opposing offenses have a hard time operating in the noise. Much was the same when the Dolphins played in the old Orange bowl, one end was enclosed and again crowd noise was difficult to deal with. The Patriots enacted their own form of revenge in the "snow plow game" when the game was played on a snowy, icy field they used a power brush to sweep a spot for the winning FG kick, 3-0. Dolphins head coach Shula went ballistic and the next season a rule was introduced banning snow plows operating during games..http://http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-top-ten/09000d5d80498bba/Top-Ten-Weather-Games-The-Snow-Plow-Game

Glad I was wrong. Nice to see the enthusiasm in KC as it has been missing for many years. With the Royals in the hunt for a wild card spot and the Chiefs winning 3 in a row, it is refreshing to see and hear people talking about sports once again in this neck of the woods.

I was 100% wrong. I didn't think the Chiefs had a chance but despite a really, really bad start they did it.

Eagles have some serious work to do this week. They did not look good at all.

I'm probably reaching by comparing them to Harbaugh's first group, but I think the Chiefs are now "legitimately better than anyone thought they would be."

There--that's as far as I will go for now. :D

And last night's game was better than the Pats/Jets turdbowl from last week, but these Thursday night games are bad. Sloppy, exhausted messes. God forbid the NFL actually consider making a wee bit less profit by canceling this horrible idea and improve quality a bit. Sure, that's what they'll do. They really care about the health of their players, as we all know.

Michael Vick just plain sucks. He is a turnover machine. I don't know if he was channeling Mark Sanchez in light of the whole Hispanic Month the NFL is doing or what but that was embarrassing even to watch. Alex Henry should be fired too. Eagles should have won that game easily despite all the turnovers and failed

I personally hate this whole "let's attempt to give NFL Network relevance by forcing a Thursday night series" thing.

The only thing that irritates me more is their horribly shallow attempt to convince people that they also stream the game online as well. Yeah, no. What they do with the online stream is an insult to football fans. If I wanted to watch commentators all night long, I'd turn on fucking CSPAN.

I was wrong about the Chiefs last night. The eagles are not what I thought they were. That being said, the Eagles DEF really screwed the pooch on this one. Their secondary made Alex Smith look like Tom Brady. It was embarrassing.

I never looked at the Chiefs schedule this year. Holy crap, what a cupcake schedule. I still think they are over-rated and not nearly as good as their record indicates, but I don't think they will have an issue making the playoffs. What a weak schedule.

well, going into the season, they are/were in a hsitorically bad division, so all of the schedules for these teams--Denver included--is cupcake.

however, it looks like these teams are again competitive: Denver at the top of course, San Diego, and now maybe the Cheifs. Oakland is the worst of the bunch, but I foresee them giving a few teams a fit here and there.

NFC East is looking bad again. :D

I don't understand, how does being in a division that is "historically bad" make their schedule easier? Their schedule is mostly determined by a rotation. They happen to be playing the NFC East this year, which is awful. They're also playing the AFC South which is not great. They get Cleveland and Buffalo because all three teams finished last in their division last year.

I think the Chiefs are a product of good coaching, and Kelly probably thought he would come into the NFL and wow everyone with his offensive philosophy -- he will be humbled.

And he's quite fortunate that that game wasn't real close last night or that bone-headed 2pt conversion attempt, which was well covered, would have probably cost him the game.

Alex Smith is doing what he does best... he doesn't gamble with bad deep throws, and can run a bit. I never liked him in SanFran, but he's a pretty decent QB.
