fantastic stand there by baltimore

That was textbook stonewalling if I've ever seen it. With Ben's great throws on that drive, I wonder why they didn't go to the air? Odd playcalling for sure, Baltimore doesn't seem like an easy team to do a red-zone rush attempt on.

Seems pretty obvious to everyone except Bruce Arians apparantly.

I still can't believe they didn't even throw a flag on that helmet to helmet hit after all the weak shit Harrison has been getting flagged and fined for. What a disgrace. I hope Goodell dies in a fire.

Absolutely... all of this crying about helmet-to-helmet hits are going to ring hollow if they just keep fining one guy for this crap while not even throwing a flag on that brutal hit.

I think that was kinda borderline after rewinding and watching it again. At full speed the guy was rushing to the catch and was already at maximum speed before the guy missed the catch. Something like 1/3 of a second to react to him failing to catch the ball. I still think it should have been called, but it's not as clear as it looks in slo-mo.

It's games like this that make you realize how much better of a sport hockey is. You don't hit someone like that in hockey and not have to answer for it.

Not only that, but the refs would have called an even-up for the blown non-call by now.

Interesting point. I love NFL football, but the officiating is pretty bad quite often, and the overtime rules are laughably bad.

The problem is that they flag and fine other players *cough Harrison* for milder stuff and then let this pass, they better fine the shit out of him or they'll look even worse, though I don't think Goodell even cares about it.

The only thing Goodell cares about is money. He doesn't want his precious quarterbacks getting injured and jeopardizing the 18 game season he has planned.

lol bullshit

the new rules are supposed to be uncompromising, the dude almost had his head taken off, intentional or not its supposed to be protected under the rules

whether we like it or not the NFL is being restructured to promote clean tackles that just stop progress instead of big hits that break up passes

what makes this all worse is the seeming double standard when considering Harrison for the Steelers has been flagged and fined for hits far less malicious than this.

But Ben gets a broken nose from a blow to the head and Miller gets a concussion from an even worse blow to the head and no flags for the Ravens for either case...yeah, the NFL is bunk.

I see your point, I was just saying that if you watch it at full speed you can kinda see why it happened. The guy was making his move hard and fast to try to nab the guy as soon as the ball was caught, and when it wasn't, it was pretty much too late. His vision to the guy was also a little obscured. I do think it deserved a flag though, it didn't look like he let up at all, and he had a fraction of a second to do just that.

The fines on Harrison are definitely over the top. The officiating has been really bad lately, I know I've seen several games in the past few years that were blown by really bad/missed calls, where the correct call would have directly changed the winner of the game.

I can't even believe the refs have the balls to call a close PI call like that after they blew the helmet to helmet hit.

A hit like that is legal when it's against a reciever or back that already has the ball though, right? I think he actually hit him with his shoulder anyway.

If anything they should be opening up the game to harder hits :) We don't want to give ammo to the Rugby idiots who think NFL players are pussies :p

This league is all pussy now. Touch a QB or look at a WR funny and the flag comes flying out...
