I'm sitting in a hotel trying to watch and the HD feed has been horrible all night. So, I'm having to watch it online (internet also sucks). This happens a lot here, and they need to consider offering the analog channels as well.

There's a point when NBC or the station needs to say "We're morons and need to switch the feed to analog."

Every other HD channel was perfect...

That last play call was terrible. Mark Ingram had been fairly ineffective all night and you've got Brees land those receivers, call a damn PA pass out of a goal line/jumbo package.

I agree. It also would have gotten me even more ff points, go brees

I don't understand that 4th down call at all....

Kick the field goal, and you have a whole fourth quarter to score a touchdown to take the lead.
nothing wrong with taking 3 points; but then they would have still needed a TD (to take the lead). IMO good decision to try and tie the game, but a piss-poor play call. To be fair, B.J. Raji was stuffing the middle all game long so Payton didn't trust his O-line (which makes the game-ending call baffling as mentioned in the post-game).

pretty sure the federal government took back analog frequencies over a year ago. Unless you mean the cable or satellite provider bites; I don't think it's NBC or the affiliate's decision whatsoever.

Can't wait for Sunday so my Bills can prove some of the historically correct haters wrong. All these 2-12 and 3-13 predictions are ridiculous. We have a better team than last year's team that went 4-12 (and almost 7-9) and finished 4-4. I'm guessing 6-10ish for this year. We can start by beating the Chiefs that are being vastly overrated because of a weak schedule last year. It'll be a good game from Arrowhead on Sunday.

And how did Jacksonville get TWO HOME Monday night games? Buffalo gets one every five years. It's not like the Jags are good this year and the atmosphere in Orchard Park is a lot better than at the stadium in Jacksonville.

Almost 7-9? You could say almost 3-13 too.

The Bills offensive line might have gotten worse and they lost Evans. Defense should be better though, assuming their first round pick, Barnett, and Merriman play well. Kyle Williams is a monster and horribly underrated.

I don't see any teams on their schedule that I'd consider them better than. Possibly Cincinnati and Miami although they're similar (poor offenses with ok defenses), and Denver and Washington. I do think they'll win a couple of games where they're underrated, but I don't see any game that should be a clear win for them.

The Chiefs have gotten better as well, at least as much as the Bills have, and Arrowhead should be tougher this year (the Arrowhead the Bills saw was not the usual Arrowhead, ticket sales are way up this year).

Its because the Bills have been a mediocre team for a long time and their owner has not done much to improve them. Jacksonville has been a much better team, and those two Monday games are against the Chargers and Baltimore.

there's about 2 weeks out of the football season where AV equipment actually works in Buffalo.

replacing batteries every 10 seconds = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

go figure.

Well the Saints defense got dominated, but going to Green Bay and keeping it that close is not a bad start for New Orleans this season.

totally.

in a way, it looked like two terrible defenses getting slaughtered...but these are not terrible defenses. This is just what happens when extremely potent offense run roughshod over the field.

good game.

now I need some nice Balt v Steelers FG games to balance that out.

God dammit, who the hell scheduled Arizona @ OSU (college) at the exact same time as the opening NFL game? Why can't they just play on Saturday like usual 🙁 - Won't affect most people but it affects me being a life long UofA fan.

Hrm I wonder if my TV has picture in picture...

Thursday was, generally, NCAA football exclusive night. one game per week (like MNF for NFL), and then NFL encroached into that for these early games, (sometimes 2 of them on "kickoff night")
And now, every week of the season, we have multiple Thursday night NCAA games.

weak. seriously...weak. 🙁

I know! that pissed me off more than any other play in the game.

could have been a better play, yes (it was broken, actually...so hard to really argue that), and inches inside the 5 on 4th down is a bit of a no-brainer but god damn--10? point game with a quarter to go? wtf...

guess it's a hotel thing?

the networks tend to fuck that up every sunday where I am, too, but you get a quick kick to analog when it happens and rarely miss a beat.

Oh well, can't win them all. The Packers really took the Saints D to the woodshed. I'm hoping that is just more along the lines of the Packers O is just that good, and less along the lines of the Saints D is bad.

The Jags are a joke. I'm sure their two fans are pumped about those home games even though they won't be able to watch them since they're going to be blacked out. I think I've decided that my weekly feature this year will be about Jack "Il Sung" Del Rio, since the guy seems to be the Jags' "Eternal Coach."

Odd. It must have been a regional thing. I did not have any issues with NBC's HD at all during the game

Heh - he still had a really good night. I am happy I picked him up 😀

why isn't the packers D getting more shit? so much for a top 3 rated defense giving up 34 points to NO at home.

Brees had his way with them...400+ yrds and 3 tds.

D'oh. I guess I meant non-HD digital signal. I've seen the picture revert to a "standard" broadcast a couple times when there's been an issue with the HD counterpart. The problem must've been a Southwest Florida thing.

Anyway, the sAints made many questionable calls that cost them. All they can do is learn from the mistakes and try again.

😀

but yeah, I agree. rule sucks. if it keeps people from turning into vegetables though...:\

That runback by Cobb was the worst thing that could have happened. It basically gave the NFL something to rebuttal with....

"SEE!!! We had one of the longest kickoff returns in league history the first night that we put that rule into regular season play. We're genuses!"

i seriously feel like I'm going to have trouble sleeping on Saturday night lol, like a kid at christmas.

can't freaking wait!

i think its a little bit of both, i think both of those offenses were so good last night that they made the defenses seem worse then they really are.
