The Browns are a much better team then you think. Their defense is stellar and Weeden improves every week.

The Browns D has showed up every week, if they could find a way to score more points their record could be much better, any team going into Cleveland expecting a cakewalk will find out different..

No way Dallas puts together a winning effort this week with Atlanta at home. They are unbeatable in the Georgia dome in the regular season.

Cowgirls shouldn't even bother showing up

Dallas has proven they can move the ball against anybody but will commit enough destructive plays to wind up losing, until they can play 60 minutes of clean football they're a 500 team, nothing more..

Pretty straightforward.

Vick & McCoy will have a field day against the Saints, Denver will smoke the Bengals, Houston will annihilate the Bills and Seattle will make a strong hold against the Vikings.

I want to pick the Browns, I really do, but I just can't.

Another was a divisional Playoff game against the Packers 2 years back when they won the super bowl.

Granted the playoffs seem to bewilder and confuse the falcons.

The Falcons have lost 4 regular season home games in which Matt Ryan has started, and 2 additional home games when Matt Ryan was injured with turf toe 3 years ago, the only year under Ryan and Smith that the Falcons missed the playoffs. That was one of the home games they lost against the Saints the year the Saints won the Superbowl. Saying the playoffs confuse the Falcons isn't entirely accurate. They have had some exceedingly bad playoff play, but also they in 3 playoff appearances under Smith and Ryan have ran into the eventual NFC champions as the first playoff game. And two of those three won the Superbowl.

The Falcons are playing their best football in years, and I credit that to Mike Nolan and Dirk Koetter doing new things with the offense and defense, Matt Ryan working out in the off season to be better at deep passing (put on like 12 lbs of muscle),and Asante Samuel for giving the secondary some swagger they've needed ... his mouth is a fantastic asset for pumping up the D.

I don't know what it is about the Falcons but they have looked better on the road than at home. Still, I think the Falcons pull of the W against the Cowboys this week.

Only reason I'm picking DAL over ATL is cause they have to lose some time. No one goes perfect.. I'll risk the 1pt in pick'em leagues unless its an obvious win. :)

And they will lose one before too much longer, just not against the worst coached team in the NFL sans the Chargers.

Hmm, you ALMOST make me want to root for the Cowboys, but since I'll be at that game my Falcons better not disappoint me.

As far as my own predictions.

Toughest one of these to pick is Saints over Eagles. I despise the Saints, but both teams have atrocious defenses and Brees is a clearly better QB.

thats the thing though. the eagles actually have a decent defense. they just can't score points.

Falcons are looking great this year. If they peak too soon though it may be all for nought.

However, All I remember is last few years, when he falcons made the playoffs. (usually doing real well too, 13-3 when they lost to the packers) They got decimated. It was like Matt ryan was unsure it was the same game he played 16 times earlier this season.

I mean Im glad the packers won (obviously) but what was the final score 41-14? of something? It was like the falcons "froze" both on Offense adn Def,.

It was 48-21 and that year I knew the Falcons weren't going to do anything in the playoffs. They were winning with Turner running the ball and the offense was pretty old-school, both sides of the ball had vanilla schemes. This year it's very different and I get a very different feeling, some pretty exotic schemes with the new coordinators and Matt Ryan has taken his game to the next level.

What did NFL fans do to deserve a KC @ SD game on Thursday night :( I feel bad for the NFL network people trying to promote this flat turd of a game.

Also feel bad for the KC fan base in general, great loyal fans always filling arrowhead, having to try and support such a horrible team year after year.

I am just saying...

02-03 Falcons 27 - Packers 7 (Won, at home)
03-08 Did not make playoffs
08-09 Cardinals 30-Falcons 24 (Falcons Home, lost in divison round, had WC bye)
09-10 Did not make playoffs
10-11 Packers 48 - Falcons 21 (Falcons Home, lost in divison round, had WC bye.)
11-12 Giants 24- Falcons 2 (Falcons Away, lost in wild card round)

Falcons were 11-5, 10-6, 13-3 on the last 3 losses.

Basically what I was saying is under the current coach they have yet to win a playoff game, even though they did really well (and were even favorites in most those playoff games) in the season. So I am waiting to see if they freeze in the playoffs again and get knocked out in the first game whether it is WC or Divisonal.

Only teams worse in the W-L playoff ratio is the chiefs, browns and bengals.

Just saying, history is not been good on the dirty birds.

i think the nfl network bought a shit load of tickets for tonight game so it won't be blackout; it should be blackout since no one is watching it anyway.

As a Bronco fan I'm interested because its an inner division game, but for the rest of you guys I can feel your pain.

All the pundits had either KC or SD winning the AFC west this year, very few were picking the Broncos and a lot more people were picking the Chiefs then anyone around here thought was possible. So on paper at the beginning of the season, it looked to be a good division game. Turns out after the season has started that the AFC West is one of the worst division's in the NFL besides the NFC south, giving both the Broncos and Falcons a veritable cake walk into the playoffs.

One piece of correction, even though Falcons were 11-5 and Cardinals 9-7, Falcons were the wildcard team and this was an away game for the Falcons. Carolina won the NFC South that year with a 12-4 record.

Oh wow... The Pats are serious about bolstering their defense. They picked up Aqib Talib from the Bucs today. Kind of REALLY out of character for the organization to take someone who has had the kind of issues Talib has had.

Could be a really huge coup for the Pats if Talib manages to keep his head on straight though.

Belicheat must have some film on him that he likes

Off the field issues aside, he's a pretty good corner. I'd say better than anything than the pats currently have, so a definite and desperately needed upgrade for what's arguably one of the worst secondaries in the league right now.

Price must have been ridiculously low, plus the pats are only on the hook for what amounts to 9 weeks of contract left (Talib's contract is up at the end of this season). Low financial risk, high potential upside reward?

Was only a 4th round pick to get Talib and a 7th rounder from TB.

The Pats have a history of picking up trouble players. Corey Dillon, Randy Moss, Haynsworth, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. not a lot of risk though.

Yeah. Like I said, they're only on the hook for 9 weeks of salary if it doesn't work out (and the draft pick) since he's on the tail end of his contract anyway.

Yea I'm pretty happy about the move. I didn't expect the Pats to make any moves before the deadline. Then they released Sterling Moore this morning which meant something was up, hopefully this works out for the best.
