The Giants play to the level of their opponents, that's their problem. They stack up well against great teams and play poorly against crap teams. You saw how close the Giants came to beating Seattle if it weren't for a certain kicker.

In anycase, to the NY Giants for winning the NFC East!

That's a mark of an inexperienced team. They have talent to hang around with anybody, but they don't have that killer instinct to finish off a wounded opponent.

True, indeed. Inexperience, and coaching. I think the organization could have done better than Coughlin, and I'm not too thrilled with his choice of Kevin Gilbride as the QB coach. I keep reading how Manning's problems are his mechanics. Mechanics? The guy has been tossing a football since he was 4!

They are a veteran team, hardly inexperienced (not counting Eli). The only reason why you see such a young group of linebackers and defensive backs now is because of the injuries to their starters.

Having said that, I must also say that the more I watch them play, the less confident I am. Seems every week they make an opposing player, particularly the QB, look like an All Pro, no matter who it is. Yesterday, Collins threw for more than 300 yards, and an awful Raiders team hung around until the last two minutes. Not very confidence inspiring.
The Giants secondary is an open, festering wound.
And the offense, all I can say is :disgust:. The receivers, Burress and Shockey in particular, drop as many balls as they catch. But this may attributable to the fact that Manning is never on target with his passes. Maybe they are so surprised they panick when the ball hits their hands??
So, we'll see what happens. First round in the Meadowlands could be winnable. After that, they start to face the big boys, and things could get real ugly, real fast.
But, hey, to a successful season overall. I mean, they're not the Jets or the Eagles. . .hehe.

it can't be both. either manning is a horrible passer and shockey and burress are catching everything they get their hands on (hence mannings 49% pass completion rate) OR manning is an average to above average passer but burress and shockey drop and inordinate amount of passes keeping his average down (meaning he isn't that inaccurate but the drops by burress and shockey make him look worse than he is).

you can't say, they drop a TON and then say manning is horribly inaccurate. statistics tell us that if manning were that inaccurate they wouldn't have passes to drop.

if they are dropping them then his passing percentage drops due to their drops.

What he is saying is that it seems like manning throws alot of wild passes that shockey and the talented Buress are able to catch, but for some reason, when he throws the ball on the mark, the drop the passes.

Manning= Overrated unless he can improve his feild of vision. Maybe he needs glasses? Or lasik.

shockey has had a problem with dropping passes from Day 1, from Collins from Manning, so how about say it how it is.

burress like shockey has incredible physical attributes (shoot he's 6'6" and very fast) but he isn't the hardest worker (he gives up on a lot of routes making eli look worse than he is) and he drops passes. look back at his numbers from Pittsburgh, he hasn't yet proven he can be a day in day out #1 WR in this league.

i'd say lay the blame at their feet before Eli's. manning looks to me like a pretty decent QB that still has a little more development to go.

Stray gets constantly held, cut, hit in the face yet officials almost never call it. It's almost like they say "you can't stop him legally so we'll allow you to cheat a little"

Yeah, there was no way hands to the face should not have been called. It was so obvious.
