Giants looked good today, except for the end of the 2nd quarter of course.
If we can avoid injuries, this could be a very good year.

what did anyone think about plexico benched for a quarter a few wks back...

for me, i couldn't believe some commentators that normally make sense say that benching him is the wrong punishment, it hurt the whole team (indirectly), he should have just been fined....

i think it was a great thing to bench his ass asap and have it affect the team... IN live play.

it suggests that meetings ARE prep for what you get your paycheck for.

it punishes the team, not an individual = it makes you recognize yourselves as one unit that is only as good as its weakest individual part... this is needed in a team sport.

In basic training in the military, you make the whole squad run laps or pushups... i'm sure even in football training camp they have these kinds of things.. heck i even had this in school gym... one kid can't keep quiet when he needs to, the whole class just sits on the floor doing nothing while the period wastes away.

i was surprised the commentators seem to me so shortsighted with this one.

I agree with that. Coughlin is a team first kinda coach, he knows what he's doing. As far as the commentators, I wouldn't worry too much about what they have to say.

Giants sucked ass today, Eli looked completely inept except for 2 miraculous passes with time running out.

the Giants could've/should've won today. :|

and how come the team that wins the overtime toss usually ends up winning?
unfair.

They should NOT have won today. Neither should have the Cowboys. They should've both lost. One of the sloppiest games I've ever seen.

The question was just who wanted to lose more.

Actually if you look at all overtime games over the history of the NFL, the cointoss has very little to do with it (I think it's like mid 50% of the coin toss winners actually win)

Giants were terrible today. A loss well-earned.

As a Giants fan, it pains me to say bad things about them, but they are, at best, a .500 team. Their problems start with the coaching staff. Tom Coughlin lost the game today. This team was not ready to play today. Blame it on the bye week if you want, but it's the responsibility of the coaching staff to get 'em up and ready. His play calling wasn't too brilliant, either. Has he forgotten we have a terrific RB named Tiki? And who the hell is Brandon Jacobs that Tiki gets pulled in a goal line situation? This loss is on the coaching staff. And as long as Coughlin and defensive coordinator Tim Lewis are the head honchos, this team will go nowhere fast.

And a new defense wouldn't hurt, either!

I disagree with you., I don't think it was the coach or the coaching staff, I think the team as a whole underperformed today. You can't blame int's and fumbles on the coaching staff, and that is why the team lost today's game. Jacobs was in because Tiki did not get in done in short yardage situations for the last 2 years. The Giants have been searching for a short yardage answer and Jacobs may be it. The loss is on the team, Eli included. He got way too rattled under pressure today.

Well, Eli is still basically only a rookie. Big Ben type seasons can't be expected from everyone...

You watched a different game than I, my friend. The coaching staff abandoned the run from the get go. Why? Barber is a game breaker and needs his 20 carries or so to do his thing. Replacing him on the goal line with a rookie who doesn't know how to run, and who has already fumbled once this season on the goal line, is a bonehead call. Jacobs may yet prove to be great, but not yet, not today. Eli didn't get rattled. He was following a game plan that played right into the Cowboys coaching staff's expectations. Kudos to Parcells for taking Coughlin to school.
Next week's Denver game now becomes pivotal. A loss at home and they drop to 3-3. Last season again? If this team does that again, the Giants need to cut their losses and get rid of the Coughlin regime. They won't, or course, but the man and his staff are anchors around this organization's neck.

2 problems with the game today - defensive secondary and bad offensive playcalling. Cowboys played better throughout the entire game, however Giants were in great position to steal the game today. The above mentioned 2 things prevented them from doing that.

If the players executed well, the Giants would have won going away. Would you have been complaining about Coughlin then? You can't blame those turnovers on the coaching staff. From what I saw, the running game was getting shut down early. 2-3 yards a carry is not getting it done. And again, I think Jacobs was in there because Tiki was not able to convert short yardage for the last 2 seasons. We disagree.
