Yep, to every bit of this. Jimmy V and NC State were railroaded by the UNC-loving, Daniels family-owned News and Observer. The hack "journalist" and his book of lies started it, the N&O and the UNC-led BOG finished it.

6 different, hostile investigations found that Valvano did NOTHING wrong, and basically nothing in the book was true. Players sold their complimentary game tickets and shoes for extra money. No academic fraud, no point shaving, no cars, no merchandise. And NC State athletics essentially got burned to the ground for it, and the ACC went all-in for the Duke/UNC rivalry....which wasn't much of a rivalry before K got rolling and Dook Vitale/ESPN decided to promote it. Still isn't the biggest rivalry in the state, either. Just in one sport.

F-UNC and everything they stand for. They cheated to get it all. Going to lose a lot of it, too.
 
color scheme on the court is hideous. No idea why, but I always look forward to the (generally awful) court design for the Final Four.

see, this is what happens when the state makes it legal to deny services and contracts to homosexuals--the design bid goes to some color blind corn farmer. 😛

anyhoo, I've also never been a fan of the elevated courts. Probably not true, but I always assume that those things lead to unnecessary injuries, walking from court down to your chair. I seem to remember at least one coach or assistant coach from some team breaking an ankle some years ago due to this.
 
God, watching the UK - Wisc game is torture on TNT...the two announcers couldn't be more pro-Kentucky and just rambling on and on.

I've now changed channels and we'll see how announcers on other channels do.

don't they have dual-broadcasts for each game, each one being intentionally heavily-biased for one of the two teams?

anyway, read that today; it's fucking stupid, but only 5% as stupid as the fact that the national semifinals are on cable only. what the fucking fuck?
 
This game is super fun so far. Love this Kamisky dude--he's got the size + inside + outside game. Great shooter. He looks like the next Nowitsky, if he works on his speed a bit.

which is why it's funny to complain about the kentucky homerism on the kentucky broadcast.
 
A ref or two need to get seriously dealt with for not calling the flagrant. That's just bad. I don't care what team or who it is or is on.....If you have a chance to REVIEW and you DON'T call that, that's bad!
 
When the shot was blocked and bounced in front of three players from KY before going out of bounds, I wondered why they were just standing around. The KY players should have gone for the ball.

He's not the shooter dirk is IMO. He reminds me of a combo of gasol with instincts of a wing/guard. Should be great in a few years.
