Yeah, I just saw the replay. Big elbow. Inadvertent doesn't mean it won't hurt!

Yea it just hit him perfect on the button it seemed and Big Baby isn't a small guy at all but damn this game is getting physical which is good but these damn refs need to relax with the calls. This is playoff basketball. They need to be allowed to be more physical and emotional to a certain extent.

I agree.

I wonder if Tim Duncan was secretly hoping that baby would crush Joey Crawford when he leaned on him...

Jeeze. How many Celtics will be left standing after injuries, ejections, and foulouts at the end of this game?

Yea he's stupid for doing that but I bet they're getting frustrated after all the BS calls tonight.
The calls were bad on both ends. The Celtics got away with so many wrist slaps it was criminal. Besides, the Magic won by 21. BS calls didn't decide this game. The Magic won by being more physical than the Celtics and outplaying the Celtics.

btw, wtf is up with JVG? Does he hate his brother or is he just jealous?

I never said the calls decided the game but they sure helped. those 2 techs on Perkins were BS but you could tell at the start of the game before all the BS the Magic were out to win.

Those 2 technicals on Perkins might decide the next game, depending on what he actually said. Most likely the NBA will rescind one T because Big Baby will have to sit out with a concussion and Stern won't want to cripple the Celts.

1. obviously injured. if he were in the form he was in when he signed the contract, he's earning his. maybe slightly overpaid.
2. overpaid but not as much as rashard. at the very least, he's a presence in the middle, and can offer rebounding and get the other centers in foul trouble.
3. rashard is making $2M more than vince and has contributed far less than vince.
4. serious??
5. disagree completely. he may not be worth that much, but he's a difference maker on his team unlike rashard. definitely not as overpaid as rashard.

Randolph possibly involved in drug smuggling ring. The guy is a legal nightmare.

Go magics!!! Now that's how you play the game, beat'em up old school style, its pay back time baby. Dont have balls? just move aside. They fell one by one like weak ass mada fakas. After what happened last year I have to empathy/sympathy for the Celtics. Cry b1tches cry, cry like babies you ancient fossils.

You can't possibly believe that, "BS calls didn't decide this game". The Celts #1 interior defender was EJECTED from the game in the first half. His primary backup (yeah, Wallace is technically the center, but Baby guards Howard when Perk is out) was sent off the floor, and possibly the series, with a concussion from Howard's 8765896798769876th "inadvertant" elbow of the series (that and the play where he pushed Pierce to the floor should both be upgraded Flagrant-1's except that we all know it won't since it would mean Howard would get an automatic suspension for Game 6).

Despite that, the Magic couldn't push their lead much beyond single-digits until the Celtics got into the serious foul trouble, and the scrubs came out. Assuming the league does the right thing, and rescinds one (or both) of the T's against Perk, and assuming Big Baby is ok to play, the Celts should take Game 6 in a walkover.

Magic has a chance because their defense has definitely improved, but don't expect them to shoot like this in Boston.

That type of shooting percentage makes their offense look like it's running a lot smoother than it really is, yet they still need to execute their offense much better imo. It seemed like they couldn't get anything off the fast break, aside from quick pullup 3's, and they really need more from that, as well as more from sending the ball thru howard in the post (not necessarily from howard, but from opportunities he creates.)

I think the major calls went the Magic's way yesterday (perkins, wallace touch fouls, etc.), and its amazing how much a game can change when that doesn't happen (which it won't in boston.)

Perkins had 2 fucking points before he got ejected. He wasn't adding anything offensively nor was he stopping Dwight and others from taking it to the basket when he was in. This crying about the officiating ignores the fact that the Magic played a much better game and beat the Celtics at their own thuggery in the process. The Celtic bigs have been swarming, hacking, and slapping at Dwight this entire series and when it gets turned around the fans start whining? Please.

Please bring Perkins back along with Big Baby. I sure hope they do so the Celts fans can't make excuses if Boston does lose game 6 on Friday. Personally I think the Celts are running out of gas and if they do end up winning game 6 its not going to be a "walkover" by any means.

imo they should have rescinded the first one too.

Perkins has been known to be quite the pout after getting called for a foul. He knew that this kind of behavior results in a technical, yet he still does it.

I think the first one should have been rescinded (Which was an accident) and the 2nd one (Which was 100% intentional) should have stuck.

Call the wahhhhhhhmbulance.

Perkins has always had a bad attitude when fouls get called. This is nothing new. He whines *ALL THE TIME*.

Dwight Howard does not throw elbows intentionally. He does what any other post player has done since O'Neal came into the league. Garnett does it all the time as well, but you clearly like to gloss over that fact, just like you will gloss over Perkins being a consistent hot-head. Oh yeah, and you gloss over the fact that Pierce (i think it was him) threw JJ Redick to the floor last night as well, but got no technical for that.

yep, stop crying. dwight even elbowed his own teammate (courtney lee) last year in the face. clearly, he doesn't intend to elbow ppl's faces in.

Arguing with the refs and trying to get in their minds is a part of the game. Pretty much every NBA player disagrees with the refs' calls that goes against them. Phil Jackson is known for it, like the with the Nash carry comment to start the series. It's just a game to try to influence the refs. He has 10 rings so he knows a thing or two about it. And part of having home court advantage is getting a bit more than 50% of the 50/50 calls in the game.

I don't think he should have gotten either T, but he made his own bed. While he didn't get any T's until Game 5 of the quarters, he pretty much got into it with Shaq and that's how he got to 5 so quickly.

He put himself in the position to be suspended by getting so many already. Lots of players have fewer than 2 or 3 technicals. Just like if you get 5 fouls, you take a huge risk about losing a 50/50 call and fouling out. Perkins will pick up another T anyway and get suspended for Game 7 or Game 1, however that works out.

One of the ESPN bloggers made a good point. The league should review that stuff right away instead of waiting until the next day. It's really not that hard to get the head official or whatever to double check on something that they're going to double check anyway. Would the Celtics have lost anyway even with Perkins? Probably, maybe. But since the league has already acknowledged that the ref screwed up, it would be nice to get the overrule during the game so that the rest of the game plays out like it was supposed to instead of leaving a bunch of "What if?" behind.

Pierce's foul on Redick got upgraded to Flagrant 1. I still think Lewis needs to show up. Can't just be Nelson and Howard bailing them out every time.

I'm really impressed with Davis. He has a terrible nickname and a terrible portrait, but he gave it all that game. He got knocked unconscious like a boxer, lost a tooth on the play, and still tries to get back on offense at the urging of his coach. It didn't work out, but he left it all on the court that day, which is what sports is about. I don't follow sports enough to know about all the other elbows, but the elbow by Howard on that play looked accidental, unlike the ankle breaking by Bowen in his prime. Howard also look like he might have gotten hit on the wrist by Robinson on the block on that play.

With the Lakers series, Lakers are in trouble. Phil Jackson needs to get his team in gear against the zone. 2 games with no adjustments. Lakers are just settling with the 3's, which kills their offense since Gasol isn't really involved. Suns bench is just wow. Goran whatever is crazy good after that 26 pt game. Lakers seems to have no defense either way, even in their wins in 1 and 2, but with the Suns shooting lights out, it's pretty much impossible.

Magic + Suns in the finals isn't that unbelievable right now.
