I think I know what drills the lakers will be doing tomorrow and tuesday morning.

Rebounding.

13 offense rebounds for the celtics. rondo alone got 4. everyone of them resulted in a score.

Maybe Phil will make them run some sprints too for allow so many bad offensive rebounds.

Lakers really wasted Bynum's effort tonight.

How the hell was that call (ball out) not reversed?

Refs saw in the replay Gasol hit Garnett's hand, causing Garnett to knock the ball out. And since refs can't call a foul after watching the replay, and since they make sh!t up as they go along, Celtics ball.

You mean the KG/Gasol one? I think because Pau'a hand was on the ball also - although KG's finger was the last thing to touch the ball - and also that Pau's hand was on KG's hand. I guess the refs felt it was too close to overturn.

celtics were +28 last year in game 2

If you are an honest fan of basketball

Tell us how Kobe's 4th and 5th fouls were legit?

There were quite a few "non-legit" foul calls tonight. Why should Kobe suffer any less than anyone else?

Edit: BTW, equality of fouls called has absolutely nothing to do with how "fair" the officiating is.

Ron Artest sucked on offense and while Lamar Odom sucked everywhere inside the Staples Center tonight.

We expect Ron Artest to suck on offense some times. That's what he does.

When LamOdom sucks, it's such a shame because he is so incredibly skilled. BTW, I thought it was a big mistake by Phil to call that TO in the 3rd when Lamar was approaching the 3 pt line and had built up a head of steam going toward the hoop... he's very good at driving and a bucket there could have gotten him going.

but you brought up that because LA was +15 that it meant they got the benefit of the calls??

Some cheap calls on the lakers. If I was a fan of the lakers I'd be pissed. Kinda funny though. Refs will make sure it goes 7 for sure. Not sure who they want to win.

Game was ruined for me by the terrible officiating. No excuse for so many numerous poor calls, none. This was Lakers vs Celtics + Refs.

Props to Allen for goin nuts, that was unreal.

Nope, I didn't say that at all. 😉

Lakers fans as a group - moreso than fans of any other NBA team - complain when the calls don't go LA's way, despite the fact that the Lakers have historically benefited from the refs' whistles more than most. In fact, a page or 2 back in this thread, someone complained that Boston got the calls, when they were only +5 in FT's.

I was being sarcastic, see.

Kobe's 5th foul was clearly legit. Glen Davis was outside the restricted area, had position, and Kobe plowed into him. 2 previous calls on Kobe were bogus, IMO.

Edit: 2 cases in point - the 2 posters previous to this complained about calls against the Lakers, but no mention of the bad calls against the Celtics. I'm not a fan of either team, so what pisses me off is that the game is interrupted, and I get so frustrated with the officials I want to scream.

lol Kobe is such a sore loser... It's hilarious when he's up there after a loss

Phil's been awfully lighthearted... I wonder if he already has one foot out the door.

I wonder if Kobe's terseness is because of the hullabaloo with Pau's comments about KG... which were perfectly honest and fair, but of course the media has to make a big deal over Pau "disrespecting" KG.

As a Laker's fan who exchanged a couple jab's with you a few days ago I agree with you. I was more upset at all the ticky-tacky calls made against both sides and was screaming for the ref's to swallow the whistle and let them play. If there's anyone to be mad at, Artest and as great as his D is was straight up horrid from the floor and the line. Also LO needs to get going, the Lakers can survive a bad Artest night but Lamar hanging up 3 points while getting 5 fouls in 15 minutes time just isnt going to cut it. Also nice job guarding Allen and letting a pure-shooter get wide open looks pretty much all night long. And when he finally started to fall back to earth here comes Rondo with uncontested lay-ups. If that's the cost to contain Pierce, KG and Perkins... well then crumple up that game plan and go back to the drawing board.

That was some bad officiating for sure, but it went both ways. I'm sure some of the Laker fans will whine about the Celtics getting all the calls, but it's pretty much standard for the losing side to complain about the zebras. These refs need to swallow the whistle a little bit more and let the game flow though, they are calling way too many touch-fouls...

Did you actually watch the game? There were plenty of crap calls against both teams.

I only watched the last few minutes. Celtics up 91-90 and strangely all the calls went to them down the stretch. Especially the call on Gasol knocking the ball out. They even replayed it and still made the same horrible call. Looked like I was watching Hulk Hogan v Macho Man Randy Savage. I think it's no longer a secret the NBA is fixed. I guess it's like the WWE. If you get into that kind of thing.
