Close to nukes 3 times yesterday.

First, on storm I may have killed myself with my AC-130. I was right by enemy spawn (behind the fuel truck) when I launched the ac-130.

Second, Terminal, match ended while ac-130 was in the air.

3rd, had 24 kills after ac-130 and recieved a payback noob tube....darn.

Meh, I've never tried to get a nuke before. The entire idea behind it sort of defeats the purpose of the game IMHO.

Well my $16 COD4 GOTY Edition came yesterday so I may be jumping on for that later tonight. I have to finish the electrical for the pool tonight first and get the pump and filter going so we'll see what time I get done. If you see me on and want to go old school just lmk.

I played a few games the other day. The user interface isn't as polished as it is in MW2 but the excitement is better.

i just got MW2...which is better? the campaign or online play? cause i also have battlefield and the campaign play is waaay better than the online..in my opinion

They're very different. If you've not played Call of Duty 4's campaign you might be a bit confused at certain parts. Campaign is good though, MP is what you will keep coming back to play. I've played through the campaign twice (maybe 10 hours total time?) but I've got 9 1/2 days worth of multiplayer time in (228 hours or so).

To be honest...I don't know if it's worth it to try to get this damn nuke emblem. I get so dammed piss while playing now, and I'm camping a lot to try get this thing. It's making me really angry, and taking a bit of the fun away. I've got 4 and have 6 to go. It's PITA.

If it's making you that upset I'd just forget it. Honestly, what does it do for you? "Yay, I got a nuke, see my emblem? See it? Hey, you guys aren't even looking! :'(" I've never even equipped it as a killstreak.

And lets be honest, a good portion of those who earn/display it boosted to get it...like the guy who I played who proudly displayed that he had earned 50+ nukes yet got mad and called me a noob when I killed his boosting partner and destroyed his Tactical Insertion...I know there's plenty of legit guys who've done it but honestly it's just not that big of a deal.

BTW, is anyone interested in a CoD 4 nostalgia night in the near future?

Quite so. I'm afraid the disc will be angry at me if I don't use it again.

--edit--One of my buddies who teeters on a 1.00 k/d said he tried playing CoD 4 for old times sake. He reported back with insane ratios and killstreaks.
I found quite the opposite in Halo. When Halo 3 came out, I tried Halo 2 for old times sake. My gosh, it was like pro only zone.

Me.

I have played it twice now and like it but it is very different. Weapons are my main issue to be honest as I am a red dot guy and have yet to unlock that option on anything but the RPD. Also my only ARs available are the M16 (I hate 3 round burst weapons) and the AK (it's ok). I have picked up a red dot M4 Carbine in play before and I actually like it quite a lot.

Maps are nice but again completely foreign to me (except overgrown, crash, and a little bit of strike)

I'll send you a PM with a quick rundown of the CoD 4 weapons.

Wow, so I just played a match and it put me into a glitched room. It wasn't as bad as alot of other glitched rooms I've been in, it actually took me a minute to realize that it was.

-No reloading, hit the reload button and with no animation your mags instantly refill.
-Higher weapon damage - somewhere between softcore and hardcore damage.
-Burst weapons were full auto. I kept hearing a sound I couldn't place, then I realized it was a full auto FAMAS.

No super speed, no infinite ammo, etc, but I left after one game. It did suck though, with the higher bullet damage a guy on the enemy team got a chopper gunner from a care package...he blew the crap out of us.

Why do people Nuke Boost ?

This to me is a waste of time and spoils the game for everyone. If you can't win without cheating don't bother........

Because some people feel that they are somehow bettering themselves by winning at videogames. And if they can't do it normally they'll show you how great they are by getting a nuke. Surely you'll be jealous of their nuke...even if they cheat to do so.

I'm not awesome at this game but I do well. If I go on a tear and get a bunch of kills I'm pretty happy and amused. But I can say that nothing gives me more joy and satisfaction than to come across boosters with their tactical insertions. It is always somewhere you never think to look and they are just so happy that they are about to get a nuke. That's when I keep an eye on the scoreboard and before they get to 11 kills for the chopper gunner I throw in a grenade and break up the party. Ahhhhhhh it always feels so gooooood

So...if MoH turns out pretty good how many people are going to jump ship to it? I don't think I can give up MW2 but the longer MP vid from MoH does look quite good, although not without it's faults.

Barebones Pro added to MW2 Playlists for the 360. It's 4-8 player TDM or FFA without killstreaks.

Trying to play now, should be pretty fun.

Really!?!?!? I'll have to try it! I've been wondering why they didn't do that from the beginning.

ive always wondered why there is a lack of real game options. Sure you have different games (FFS, deathmatch, search and destroy) but i have longed for an explosion free mode. or a mode to have random gun types. like the start of the match it tells you say assualt rifles only and gives you 20 seconds to set up a class.

i dunno i just want a mode with no rpgs or grenade launchers

Inspired by the other thread on boosting:

I ran into a boosting duo in a game of Domination on Wasteland. Killed the guy on the opposite team and then sat and camped him while his buddy (on my team) shot at me angrily. Eventually he sent me a PSN message with no body, just a subject of "FUKEN BITCH"

I lol'd so hard.

Seriously, what's the point? Are you somehow bettering yourself by boosting? Does a nuke count/emblem/insignia really make you feel better about yourself? It's not like there's some difficult in-game item that's hard to get that's achievable by boosting...that at least I could understand, it just seems so...pointless.
