but what are people paying to play on psn? maybe i am just jaded by all the xbl fanboys and the bullshit ms is putting in xbl - facebook? really? twitter? really? they are oversaturating their network w/ stuff that shouldn't be in the 360 and obviously their network can't handle it yet you will not get an extra month for your troubles but if you are frustrated in a game and use a programmed glitch to vent your frustration, you get banned for a small vacation - WTF?

i get pissed when these companies are making record profits in this economy, so you know people are really putting there money into things they really want and they still get jerked around. a biz model that doesn't take care of its buyers and rules by intimidation are ridiculous, but all these xbl/iw lovers just keep giving them their hard earned $$$ - wake up people. the grass is probably greener on the other side

If I'm not mistaken PSN was working on/does include things for facebook/twitter as well. And for what I get the small price for Xbox Live is easily worth it. Go cry somewhere else we're talking about the MW2 here not your hatred for MS/IW.

@basslover
that sux that you're losing levels like that, I've never heard of that happening until you just mentioned it and I've been kicked from games and lost my connection, only thing I lost were the accolades from that match, kept all the kills. Have you searched at all to see if anyone else has experienced it?

You sound like you're just full of hate, and have pointed it in that direction. Have you even tried XBL or the 360? If not, then your opinion should be null. I own both, and all my PS3 is used for is Blu Ray. Granted, I want to get a few PS3 exclusives, but I'm in no rush with the amount of games on the 360 that I have. They load slower on the PS3, and it is louder since I can install games to my HD on my 360. Also, I've had issues with multiplayer on my PS3, issues finding games or taking awhile to load - both in Warhawk and SOCOM. But then again, I've played both and put my $25 a year to Live because it is worth it. Oh, and that's less than $2.10/mo ;) Not THAT much.

yes, have 4 360s (some friends dead ones as they bought new ones due to how the warranty use to be handled) due to their excellent reliability and been on live for a few years, so been there, tested it and it seems the last few months it has gone downhill quite fast. a couple years ago it, imho, was much better - back in the rb6:vegas days compared to what it is now.

iw created the fucking game and ms is babysitting anybody that uses a programmed glitch in mw2, so i am talking about mw2....

Yes, I'm sure people are exploiting the javelin glitch as a way to vent their frustration over... something. That makes sense. :D

I only see one guy complaining about Xbox Live, and I think that complaint is misplaced. Stats are stored on IW's servers, so if they're not being saved it's their fault. Everything else that people are complaining about is IW's fault. Xbox Live doesn't seem to be having any issues with the game.

XBox Live is unbelievably good. It's somewhat over-run with little kids, but you can't let that distract from the fact it's fantastic and well worth the $6 or whatever they charge.

I don't have a PS3 and I don't know anyone that has PS3, so I can't compare it to whatever that console has.

I love listening to these people validate their glitching. One guy got on after getting his ass kicked saying he'd never done this bad - I told him maybe him and his team shouldn't be glitching with the javelin. Ah, he was trying to sound like a sailor, but it was just pathetic.

Just FYI - 1.05 update came out today to patch the matchmaking. 1.06 is currently in certification with MS and Sony and is going to fix the Javelin glitch, the care package glitch, and geography glitches.

I guess after that, they'll need to find a way to fix the PS3 leaderboards as they have apparently been ruined by hackers/exploiters.

Yay, it happened again!

I was at 21 almost to 22, now I'm back to just barely into level 20, by maybe 25 xp points.

So fucking awesome.

That sounds like more of a bug with the game and not XBL. Have you tried contacting Infinity Ward about it either through their forums, email, or Twitter?

I hope it fixes the host migration problems. I have been in a party with anywhere from 3 to 7 people when a migration happens. Around half of the times I will get booted back to the multiplayer menu when all of them are still in the match playing.

Same problem here. This is why matchmaking systems have to be well-thought out. I just think they didn't test the party system as much as they should have.

The 1.05 patch came out on the 4th for the PS3 and i still sometimes get thrown into a match when its about to end. Its annoying.

maybe i am just jaded by all the xbl fanboys and the bullshit ms is putting in xbl - facebook? really? twitter? really?

There are fanboys on both sides. Seen Dari lately? FWIW - and don't take this personally - but your rush to seize a day or two of slowdowns on XBL as an opportunity to start a PS3 v 360 discussion was a little fanboyish in and of itself.

I certainly won't argue with you over FB and Twitter, but Sony set the stage for the "do everything" console before the PS3 even hit the shelves, and they continue to do so with their marketing campaign. From here, it just looks like MS is playing ball. I'd rather the networks not be bogged down by Netflix downloads, FB, or Twitter, but you and I are probably minorities in that regard.

if you are frustrated in a game and use a programmed glitch to vent your frustration, you get banned for a small vacation - WTF?

This is where you lost me. Since when is "frustration" an acceptable reason for breaking your TOS? The XBL TOS explicitly states that knowingly exploiting software bugs is a violation that could result in a cancellation of your account. These "frustrated glitchers" are lucky they only got 1 day off, and lucky I can't get my thumbs into their eye sockets.

As frustrated as I am with the direction IW took the franchise itself, COD4 and MW2 were and are far more stable than most AAA titles. Sure a public beta would have been nice to flush things like this out, but it's absolutely no excuse for acting like a cockjockey - even if you're just "frustrated" - and literally DESTROYING everyone else's experience.

i get pissed when these companies are making record profits in this economy

Why? If the economy tanks, it's no longer acceptable to make money? MS has a product many people want, and they're obviously doing a helluva job with it considering they're thrashing a more stable platform that offers a FREE online service "in this economy". The question isn't what MS is doing wrong, it's how the fuck has Sony lost this battle?

a biz model that doesn't take care of its buyers and rules by intimidation are ridiculous, but all these xbl/iw lovers just keep giving them their hard earned $$$ - wake up people. the grass is probably greener on the other side

Now this is just nonsense. Other than the slowdowns yesterday, I can't even recall the last time I had a problem with XBL. Seriously, have you actually used it? $50/year is nothing considering how much you pay for an actual game, and it's pretty tough to argue that the fee hasn't resulted in a superior gaming network.

Like someone else said, it just sounds like you're full of hate. MW2 is pretty bug-free, as was COD4. That's not to say there weren't problems, but relatively speaking IW's slate is pretty damn clean, as is XBL's. Between your justifications for glitching, your intolerance for paying for goods and services you receive, and your wanton bashing over what is a very stable, bug-free game, it just sounds like you're not a reasonable person.

On a note funnier than glitches and PSN vs Xbox Live debates (Xbox live is much better :) ), how many here have been killed by falling care packages?

I saw a guy get CREAMED by one last night (ok, so I still haven't gone back to COD4 exclusively - REALLY trying to make this work!). I actually felt bad for him, until he sent me a few nasty-grams for taking it.

He stood about 20 feet away from it, and as soon as it hit it just shot right into him. It was pretty ridiculous. We had baddies nearby and it was a Predator Missile, so I took the package so it wouldn't fall into their hands. He got pissed. Oh well.

I've tried to get kills with it, but never have. I even go out of my way to throw it on capture points when I had it, but nothing. I don't even bother with care packages anymore. In fact, I think they are completely ruining the game. Kill streak rewards are for people who are good, not random.

Last night, was 3 away from another nuke and a care package Pave Low killed me as I was coming out of my chopper gunner...

While I was never a great MW1 player, I could usually end up 2:1 or so k:d ratio, but in MW2 I am getting my butt kicked, I have only had a ratio of 1 or better once so far. :(

I call shens on this dude......never heard of this problem before. Probably just another Sony fanboy. Do you not check your stats after the match? You would know right then whether it was saving to the server or not.

Quit your f'n lies.

Try switching guns, perks, attachments, etc. If you're not getting high killstreaks, switch your killstreak rewards to the lower ones. Be more cautious, and if you don't know the maps well yet then you'll probably improve as you learn the maps.

Care package kills are hilarious!

One of my teammates dropped an emergency airdrop and while we were waiting for the packages to land another teammate ran out there to try to grab the crates before us. He ended up getting flattened by a couple crates. It was pretty funny to see.

The maps will take awhile to get used to. I love Quarry so far.

I hated the initial classes available, just like I hated them in MW1. As soon as I got to level 4 I started to see some improvement. I look forward to silencers and jammers. I like to hunt stealthily, not run and gun.

Yeah, you really don't want to use the Jammer. The only better way to announce your presence is to fire an unsilenced weapon.
