maybe i am just jaded by all the xbl fanboys and the bullshit ms is putting in xbl - facebook? really? twitter? really?
There are fanboys on both sides. Seen Dari lately? FWIW - and don't take this personally - but your rush to seize a day or two of slowdowns on XBL as an opportunity to start a PS3 v 360 discussion was a little fanboyish in and of itself.
I certainly won't argue with you over FB and Twitter, but Sony set the stage for the "do everything" console before the PS3 even hit the shelves, and they continue to do so with their marketing campaign. From here, it just looks like MS is playing ball. I'd rather the networks not be bogged down by Netflix downloads, FB, or Twitter, but you and I are probably minorities in that regard.
if you are frustrated in a game and use a programmed glitch to vent your frustration, you get banned for a small vacation - WTF?
This is where you lost me. Since when is "frustration" an acceptable reason for breaking your TOS? The XBL TOS explicitly states that knowingly exploiting software bugs is a violation that could result in a cancellation of your account. These "frustrated glitchers" are lucky they only got 1 day off, and lucky I can't get my thumbs into their eye sockets.
As frustrated as I am with the direction IW took the franchise itself, COD4 and MW2 were and are far more stable than most AAA titles. Sure a public beta would have been nice to flush things like this out, but it's absolutely no excuse for acting like a cockjockey - even if you're just "frustrated" - and literally DESTROYING everyone else's experience.
i get pissed when these companies are making record profits in this economy
Why? If the economy tanks, it's no longer acceptable to make money? MS has a product many people want, and they're obviously doing a helluva job with it considering they're thrashing a more stable platform that offers a FREE online service "in this economy". The question isn't what MS is doing wrong, it's how the fuck has Sony lost this battle?
a biz model that doesn't take care of its buyers and rules by intimidation are ridiculous, but all these xbl/iw lovers just keep giving them their hard earned $$$ - wake up people. the grass is probably greener on the other side
Now this is just nonsense. Other than the slowdowns yesterday, I can't even recall the last time I had a problem with XBL. Seriously, have you actually used it? $50/year is nothing considering how much you pay for an actual game, and it's pretty tough to argue that the fee hasn't resulted in a superior gaming network.
Like someone else said, it just sounds like you're full of hate. MW2 is pretty bug-free, as was COD4. That's not to say there weren't problems, but relatively speaking IW's slate is pretty damn clean, as is XBL's. Between your justifications for glitching, your intolerance for paying for goods and services you receive, and your wanton bashing over what is a very stable, bug-free game, it just sounds like you're not a reasonable person.
