That was one of maybe 2 spots in the game that gave me any trouble. I actually just camped in the house until I cleared the guys around it. Then I ran outside (and they start spawning behind you) and ran to the far right side. I threw all my flashbangs towards the treeline and hit the sniper that kept sniping me, then threw all my grenades. Ran for the edge of the hill and died...but amazingly right there I hit a checkpoint. Took me 2 tries to get to the bottom of the hill and I beat it. That part certainly is frusterating.
You want to talk about true frusteration though, bucwylde and I played Spec-Ops last night and literally spent an hour and a half on one level and we never beat it. It's the "grab the intel and escape" level at the airplane graveyard, the first level with Juggernauts. Good grief it's frusterating! We got to the intel pretty much every time, then it suddenly starts spawning Juggernauts behind you. Now, if you don't know what a Juggernaut is it's essentially a bad guy in a giant bulletproof suit with an M240, you can't even hurt him with normal weapons (they do some damage but it's a very small amount), it takes a Barret M82, Cheytac Intervention, or Desert Eagle to do anything. We got killed from behind a ton of times. We even tried camping and watching our backs (you both spawn with a Cheytac) and it'll take 3-6 shots to kill him, and for some reason the game doesn't recognize a "hit" on him very well (he'd be 20 feet away and my crosshair would be aimed at his chest and it wouldn't hit him).
We're hopefully going to try it again today if I get some time to play, if not I won't be on MW2 for over a week (heading to St. Louis tomorrow until next Sunday).
"frustrating"
!!!!
