I need to give the FAL a whirl...I keep planning on it but I've yet to do so. I did pick up a dead guy's on Estate and 1 shot headshooted a guy from a good distance killing him instantly (stopping power...yay!).
 
I still think the AK sucks, as does the Tar-21. Both recoil too much and the Tar's iron sights suck.

The TAR's iron sights certainly aren't as good as, say, the SCAR, but they don't suck. I don't need a RD on them at all. I really like the TAR. The recoil is a bit much if you intend to engage targets at long range, but it's an excellent weapon for short/mid-range combat; it's very flexible if you pick and choose your battles wisely. I'm not quite as effective in CQB with it as I am an MP5K, but I SUCK at medium range with the MP5K. The TAR is an excellent medium for me.

Agree on the AK. It blows.
 
I used the FAMAS until I unlocked the TAR-15 (like level 22?). Once I unlocked the M16 (40) until I got the ACR. At 70 though, nothing beats a silenced AK-47. I love that gun so much. I debated not doing prestige just because of it. Oh well, with the stupid glitch I can chopper gun 9v9 on rust my way to 10th prestige.

what is the point of prestige if you're just going to cheese your way through it?
 
As I understand it, if you quit a match midgame, you keep your points but lose your match bonus. How is match bonus calculated and is there a way to see what it is prior to the game ending?

None of them use slugs though. They all shoot a spread and every shotgun except the SPAS, M1014, and possibly the Striker shouldn't be in the game. They are game breakingly over powered. AA-12? Fully auto shotgun? I challenge any of you to shoot a fully auto shotgun and remain standing after 8 shots. Akimbo is another thing that totally destroys the game. Nobody holds two of any weapon efficiently enough to hit anything. Especially shotguns or SMGs.

Watch the entire clip, it doesn't seem very hard to fire 8+ shots with the AA-12. I agree in the game it's kinda ridiculous but it isn't some kind of recoil monster.
 
For some reason I find that AA-12 a bit hard to believe. I've fired many shotguns and they weren't one handers. Maybe shotguns caught up technology wise to the rest of rifles. I do know most combat shotguns were based around hunting shotguns. Guess I stand corrected on the AA-12.

And yes, the rate of fire is a lot slower. In game I can burst my entire clip in like a second.
 
I guess I haven't missed much since I haven't been able to play since Friday. Remember when someone was complaining about how long it was taking to get the patch out, and I explained that it has to go through their own internal QA followed by Microsoft's certification? Apparently they skipped their internal QA...
 
Anybody else use the FAL? I just got the thermal for it - I love it.

Great anti-sniper gun. I can't wait to unlock it again.

I wish the AK wasn't just at lvl 70. I get it for a couple hours, and it's gone again...for days and days. I was lol'ing left and right last night, right before prestige. Gosh, I can't wait until 10th prestige is over with.
And I hated it in COD4.
 
I have yet to run into the infinite ammo glitch, but I feel that is more of a mod than a glitch. In fact, I am hoping so. With the bans going out, people are less inclined to mod on Xbox Live than they would be on PSN (which keeps them away from me as I don't have a PS3 yet).

I think IW took down the 3rd Person matchmaking because I was getting errors trying to search for that. Every other playlist worked fine. Hopefully, they'll have this bug fixed soon. It ruins the game. My friend has gotten 30 nukes already and prestiged 3 times since it became popular. I was in one game and I had like 350 kills at the end. I didn't have nuke, but I got 4 chopper gunners. A chopper gunner on a 9v9 on the map Rust is almost constant multi kills. It feels so unearned to know I'd have had that many nukes.

Oh, I also tried out the FAL (had it unlocked; I'm 29). I did very well the first couple maps. First one I went 19-2 and the next game I went 28-3. Unlocked the Heart beat sensor before I got off. Decent gun overall. My K/D has steadily risen the past couple days. It seems every 3-4 matches I gain a .01. Logged off at 1.43. I still don't understand how I can have a ton of nukes and insane kill streaks with such a low over all K/D. I guess too much early deaths trying to play overly aggressive taught me well.

My K/D is going up a lot too. A few days ago it was somewhere around 1.05, and I kept hovering around 100 more kills than deaths. Now it's been going up steadily. Now I'm at 1.13, with nearly 500 more kills than deaths. My accuracy has also gone up. I have to credit some of that to the RPD. Not only have I really gotten a feel for it with the grip, but you can increase your accuracy stats fairly easily by just firing into enemy helicopters.

Just now I earned my first chopper gunner. Before that I had only gotten one from a care package. I didn't get that many kills with it since the enemies were all just hiding inside, but I still went 19-2 that match. I also got a couple of 1 shot double kills with the SPAS-12, and I had some pretty good rounds of knifing.

I also ran into some glitched games. One had the unlimited rapid-fire ammo bug on, but even the games without that glitch were messed up. There were several free-for-all matches with 18 people. Fortunately, there were no big hacks going on in those games and they were actually kind of fun. Just a totally different play style than when you have the typical 8-man FFA. I'd be okay with the glitch if it didn't also allow hackers and cheaters to have a field day.
 
the infinite ammo thing happened to me last night. the grenade launcher pissed me right off.

theres so many bugs and glitches in this game - IW dropped the ball by not beta testing MW2.
 
I had the infinate ammo thing happen to me too yesterday.

MatchMaking was completely F'd last night. Kept putting me into Private matches and game modes I was event selecting. Happened about 20 times.

Also according to Robert Bowlings Twitter they are looking into fixing the 1887's.
 
+1, I tried playing Ground War with some friends and it pulled us into private matches like crazy. We played one game and then it took nearly 20 minutes to get into another, I quit soon after.

Once again my hypothesis that the average skill of daytime players is lower than that of evening players is reinforced. I was getting torn up last night pretty bad, I'm working a 10-7 shift today so I played before work and was consistantly running between a 3:1 and a 6:1 kill ratio. I got two AC-130's on one match. Also, I unlocked the ACR and the Javelin...I seem to be doing better with the Javelin although I suppose overall it's luck. The first map I used it on (Rundown) I got a triple kill on a group of campers watching the bridge, on Afghan I got the first kill of the match by aiming at the valley towards the terrorist spawn and two more kills aiming completely through a bunker to snipers near the humvee's. Much fun. My kill ratio dropped from 1.88 to 1.86 last night, it's back up to 1.89 and hopefully knocking on the door of 1.90.
 
the 1887's are just infuriating at this point. why is the most powerful gun in MODERN WARFARE 2 some piece of shit from the 19th century?
 
Yeah, it is frusterating, of course they also need to remove "future warfare" and get rid of teleporting knifers...I understand maybe making Commando put your knifing range to 1.5x or 2x but it seems like it's 4x or 5x right now.
