I tell you what, I joined a friend who didn't have the map pack and played the normal maps only again and I absolutely tore it up in there! Methinks most of the "die hard" gamers bought it as 50%+ of those I played with were under lvl 40 having never prestiged.

I played a great game on Wasteland a few hours ago. The other team rushed the cave/bunker, and I ran around to one of the sides with my M203/RPG/Danger Close class. First shot: double kill. Second: triple kill. RPG 1: Nada. RPG 2: One kill. Frag: Triple Kill.

You know it's going to be a good game when you have a Pave Low 30 seconds in.

Once they finally stopped running into the cave, they all camped outside the same opening. I circled behind with my M21 and just picked them off, and they never figured out what was going on. Finished something like 34-5.

I love the bunker rushers on this map, but can't stand it when I'm playing with the gen pub and the entire team is in that damn bunker.

Some of my most devastating games have been on this map. 55 - 3 is my best ever and that was on this map.

Really? I need a friend that doesn't have the map pack.

Anyone that bought the Stimulus Package on day one get a note from Microsoft saying they got an extra week of Xbox Live Gold for purchasing the maps?

To thank you for your loyalty to Xbox LIVE and for buying the modern warfare 2 Stimulus package on day 1, we will extend your Gold membership for 7 days of adrenaline-pumping action with your friends on LIVE. Your account will be updated on May 1.

Wish that was the case for me.

I must be in a funk zone or something as I cannot play well for ANYTHING right now. I also find myself not comfortable with any weapon or class setup right now.

Arggghhh!!

Been playing solo or with friends? I played Ground War with some buds last night and it was absolutely fantastic, we dominated on most of the games.

Just me as I never know when I will be on in order to try and set a time. Same issue I have with BC2 as well as I just don't even want to try that game without a "team"

BC2 without a team = terrible UNLESS you get on a good team with good tactics/communication (which isn't likely to happen). Best games I've played of BC2 are with the AVS guys.

Are those the guys you and I played with on Fri?

They were good and man did I feel like a useless cog in that wheel. And playing Hardcore is tough for me. I need my map, my point count, my kill counter etc.

Nope, different set of guys. Those guys are a group that I met randomly (well, I met like 2 or 3 of 'em) in a game of Gears of War back in late 2006 and we've been XBL friends ever since. I still maintain that GoW was the best game ever for meeting people. Most of 'em live in Arkansas. I hadn't played with them in a while but they're pretty good/cool.

You weren't a useless cog, you did fine! Who cares about score, as long as you have fun and are a team player then you did fine! Hardcore takes ALOT of getting used to (my numbers weren't particularly fantastic either) but it was sort of a nice change.

There's really three groups of guys I play with mostly (and other friends that I've met from branching off of those groups):

Anandtech (Forza 3/MW2)
AVS (MW2/BC2)
Arkansas (MW2)

Yeah, and it was at like 6 PM on Saturday, I figured everyone would be on at that time.

I think that's around the peak time where most people play, and you'll typically find a good number of cannon fodders on. I usually do really well from around 5:30pm to about 8:30pm typically. After that, I'm about average.

If you're on durring the late late night, you run into lots of people that are really good.

I've been sniping lately, and man it is fun. Someone stated earlier that most snipers are really crappy...I'm about average and that statement is so true. Sniping requires a lot of patience and carefull selection of your shots. Also, you have to be moving around a bit. Example, if you're sniper battling and miss your shot against another sniper...move to a different location to tag him from a different spot. He'll be looking right at the location where you might have missed the first shot. It's awesome getting double kills off of single shots. Especially double headshot owns.

Well my best asset in any team based game is spotting guys. I tend to find where they are and let everyone know when I see them but I am just not as quick to react to shoot them as they are to me, hence I get tagged a lot.

Also lately I must have predator missile lock on or something as it seems every predator shot in a game hits me. I am not kidding when I say that I played a game on Sat where there were 5 predators shot in about a 2 min span and every one of them killed me. Sometimes it's funny but when it happens as much as it has lately its not funny at all.

On a funny side note when I played Sat night I found myself telling the guys on my team there was a group of guys in the Old Navy building on Salvage. They were all like what the hell are you talking about? I just laughed and kept on playing.

I would agree with this stmt as I play mostly later at night (usually on about 10pm EST) and most of the people I tend to face are pretty good. A few weeks ago most of the people I was playing against were pretty average (same times).

Yeeeeeeeah! It's going to become the standard!

If your reaction time isn't very good then I'd pick up a FAMAS or M16 and focus on shooting guys from far away as with stopping power it's a 1 burst kill, assuming you hit with all 3 shots and aren't shooting through something. Maybe throw an ACOG on there for some range (although it SUCKS for close range shooting). I'm telling you, my reaction time isn't so stellar either.

About the predators... are you using cold blooded? If not you may be one of the few who don't use it, especially if you play hardcore. If you're the only one who doesn't use it on your team then you're the only person that's highlighted when they launch a predator so you're going to be the one that gets hit.

A good tip for sniping is to hold ADS after a kill. This means all the loser sees on the killcam is you zoomed in and it's much harder to identify where you are situated.

Farewell double XP, you will be sorely missed. Last night apparently if you were in a game when the title update went through you kept getting Double XP until you logged off. I tried to join Blowfish's game last night but we were running "different versions" and it wouldn't let me join (meaning he was getting twice as much EXP as I was!).

Ooooooh, that was you! I got your invite but didn't know who you were and there was nothing in the profile so I rejected it.

Yep I run Cold Blooded Pro and Ninja Pro at all times.

If you're having issues killing people I'd consider swapping it out for Stopping Power. 80%+ of the time there isn't a UAV in the air and aircraft aren't that big of a deal (I carry a Stinger as my secondary on most of my classes). In HC where 2 bullets kills most people it doesn't matter as much but typically I find the ability to kill someone more rapidly typically outweighs being invisible to UAV/Aircraft.
