Really hope dodgers manage to pull this out. Besides loving donnie baseball, really getting to where I can't stand the cardinals or cardinal fans.

At least we'd have the redeeming point of them getting swept again next round.

What don't you like about Cardinals fans?

Or is it just that you're sicking of seeing them in the playoffs all the time?

Yes. At least this is McCarver's last year, though someone equally awful will probably replace him.

I'll miss him. After all, HE KNOWS MORE ABOUT BASEBALL THAN ANY OTHER SENTIENT BEING IN THE OBSERVABLE UNIVERSE and is not afraid to share this knowledge!!!

not sure what acheron's problem is, McCarver is an awesome baseball color commentator.

FOX should dump Buck though, he's atrocious.

There is no way he would do this to another one of his multi-million dollar men, but Fielder should be behind Peralta at the bottom of the order. What did I hear today, he's like 2 for his last 40 with RISP in the post season.

The Sox traded for Peavy pretty much specifically to pitch that game. Not saying I would have rather had Ryan Dempster start it, but ugh.

Can't be too mad at Peavy though -- he handled the TB game ok. And if Pedroia fields that one ball cleanly they get a double play and are out of the second inning with just 1 run.

I think Lester will be solid tonight, I just don't know if the offense can get started.

Isn't it funny how everyone in Detroit is saying the bats here need to wake up and take it for granted that Scherzer/Verlander/Sanchez are going to throw no hitters and the people in Boston mirror that exactly coming from the other side.

Fanatics

Red Sox starters are gonna throw no hitters?!?!

The thing that sticks in my craw about that trade; Jose Iglesias.

If they don't flip him to the Tigers, do the Tigers make the playoffs? The Tigers had nobody to play SS after Peralta got the gate for his PED usage. Iglesias bridged that gap and helped them win games that they may not have won otherwise. Maybe Cleveland wins that division and then the Tigers have to win a play in game. Or maybe the Rangers catch them outright for the wildcard.

Yeah yeah it's a "What if." I know...

Eh, Peavy is unarguably a much better pitcher than Dempster. The fact that he pitched poorly in the smallest sample size imaginable doesn't mean anything. Dempster might (probably) would have done better, but if you gave Peavy another chance he would as well.

Didn't Sanchez, Scherzer, and Verlander set a record for the most strikeouts by starting pitches to start a series or something like that? I like the Tigers chances.

Last night was a must win for the Sox IMO and they got, however it was not pretty. now they only need to win 1 of 2 at home instead of both, which shoudl be doable

With Scherzer and Verlander pitching, I wouldn't count out the Tigers but mann it's frustrating to watch. Tigers could've done more.. Where's Prince???
