So it is complete...at 100% item collection as well. Slightly disappointed at the ending (it was missing a certain something, but I dont wanna spoil it for anyone), but in the end, it's a masterpiece. Few games have immersed me so deeply, and if this game doesnt win best art direction for the year it would be complete robbery. I can only imagine how much more I'd have been blown away if it was in HD, but even lacking that, it has some of the best graphics I've ever seen. The attention to detail really made the game and sucks you in. The fact that they pulled it off on a Wii is amazing.
The biggest complaint I have about the game is that now I'll never see MP1 and MP2 in the same way again because MP3 topped them in just about every area. (Crosses fingers for Wiimake)
My favorite game, ever.

Depends on your idea of art. Some ppl like gritty environments...

started playing this today, and the fact that it takes me FOREVER to learn maps in any game of any type means it's driving me nuts a bit, but man it's a blast to play. What exactly is the point of holding down Z to shoot at something though? I'm used to FPS stuff and it seems if you hold down Z it just takes all "aiming" out of it, and you can't lead any of your shots if the target is moving (i'm using advanced controls)

About 5 hours into the game now, here are my thoughts (keeping in mind that this is the first Metroid game Ive palyed and Im not a fan of FPS per se).
Gameplay: Very nice, as stated above, im not a fan of the FPS but this feels great.Keeping a target on something is a little though but I suppose more realistic. The puzzle/action reminds me a bit of zelda but from a first person perspective. Im playing on normal and not finding it that difficult, except for Rundas.
Graphics: cant say Ive played the other Metroids, but on the Wii, tis game easily has the best graphics. Better than some of the launch 360 games I must say, not close to the current 360/ps3 games, but when the shots are flying, you dont really care.
Sound: Decent music, some of the musci seems out of place in the environment (like when you solve a puzzle, the tone that plays doesnt really fit the environment).
Looking forward to finishing the game, but for me, Im not sure about how much replayaility there is. Definitely goes into my Wii top 5.
1. Tiger woods 07 (havent played 08)
2. Trauma Center
3. MP3
4. Zelda
5. Wii Sports

if you like trauma center for the wii that much, you'll like it for the DS much much more.

Haven't picked this up yet, but I have been reading about disc read issues with Prime 3. Seems like Nintendo knows about it as well. Has anyone had any issues loading the game?

I've put a little time into it, and basically have just made it past the first boss. I have to try the advanced controls, which I haven't yet, but I must say that it is fun so far, and looks great.
Now, if I can just get my daughter to go to bed a little earlier tonight ...![]()

Yes, definitely switch to the Advanced controls. Despite the name, I think they are actually much easier to use.
Anyway... ***** POSSIBLE SPOLERS AHEAD ****
Anyone want to clue me in on what I was doing wrong against Rundas? I was doing fine and whooping his ass until he started swinging and throwing the large ice crystals. I still managed to beat him, but just barely. I never figured out how to avoid those crystals.

I put an hour into this weekend, not nearly as much as I would've liked.....the weekend was way too busy. But anyway, I'm loving the aspect of getting help from the other hunters so far, it makes it feel much better than the MP1 on the Gamecube where it was a completely solo affair (didn't play MP2). I feel like I'm actually helping out in this world, and I hope this continues throughout the game.
Also, the first major boss fight was pretty amazing. So as not to spoil anything, the one I'm referencing can be described by the keyword "falling". I hope other boss fights are as inventive as this.

The first boss had nothing against Omega Pirate from the first game.
