Slightly disappointed at the ending (it was missing a certain something, but I dont wanna spoil it for anyone), but in the end, it's a masterpiece. Few games have immersed me so deeply, and if this game doesnt win best art direction for the year it would be complete robbery. I can only imagine how much more I'd have been blown away if it was in HD, but even lacking that, it has some of the best graphics I've ever seen. The attention to detail really made the game and sucks you in. The fact that they pulled it off on a Wii is amazing.

The biggest complaint I have about the game is that now I'll never see MP1 and MP2 in the same way again because MP3 topped them in just about every area. (Crosses fingers for Wiimake)

My favorite game, ever.

this game is awesome, but bioshocks artwork is just as good if not better.

started playing this today, and the fact that it takes me FOREVER to learn maps in any game of any type means it's driving me nuts a bit, but man it's a blast to play. What exactly is the point of holding down Z to shoot at something though? I'm used to FPS stuff and it seems if you hold down Z it just takes all "aiming" out of it, and you can't lead any of your shots if the target is moving (i'm using advanced controls)

It allows you to swing quickly to a target and keep it in center of view. If youre using the default advanced controls with lock-on free aim, you should still have control of the cursor and be able to lead your shots. Unlike the other prime games, its completely optional this time around.

I have about 3-5 hours of play time on this game, and it's amazing. Granted, I've always been a Metroid fan, but the Wii-mote + nunchuck makes for a much better experience. I absolutely cannot play FPS games with dual analog sticks, so I wasn't sure if I would be comfortable with MP3. Luckily, picking up the control scheme was almost instant. Even my friend, who is strictly a console gamer, picked up the controls immediately. I still think the keyboard/mouse combo provides a bit better precision, but using a Wii-mote is almost a better experience.

The game itself is also very well done. MP3 does a great job of integrating everything you do as part of the experience. The scan visor works as an excellent tutorial piece that doesn't feel tacked on. I had a great time just exploring areas I've been to previously, scanning the environment and reading all the tidbits of information that pop up.

I basically purchased the Wii for this game - I am not disappointed!

About 5 hours into the game now, here are my thoughts (keeping in mind that this is the first Metroid game Ive palyed and Im not a fan of FPS per se).

Gameplay: Very nice, as stated above, im not a fan of the FPS but this feels great.Keeping a target on something is a little though but I suppose more realistic. The puzzle/action reminds me a bit of zelda but from a first person perspective. Im playing on normal and not finding it that difficult, except for Rundas.

Graphics: cant say Ive played the other Metroids, but on the Wii, tis game easily has the best graphics. Better than some of the launch 360 games I must say, not close to the current 360/ps3 games, but when the shots are flying, you dont really care.

Sound: Decent music, some of the musci seems out of place in the environment (like when you solve a puzzle, the tone that plays doesnt really fit the environment).

Looking forward to finishing the game, but for me, Im not sure about how much replayaility there is. Definitely goes into my Wii top 5.

1. Tiger woods 07 (havent played 08)
2. Trauma Center
3. MP3
4. Zelda
5. Wii Sports

if you like trauma center for the wii that much, you'll like it for the DS much much more.

Im looking forward to TC2 in a couple months. Has a two player simultaneous mode which should be fun. Both the wife and I are physicians, so we make fun of the medicine together.
TC is the type of game that's unique to the Wii, you cant do that kind of game on any other non-portable system. I suppose that's why I liked it so much, it's something unique, as opposed to the same old crap with prettier pictures that comes out on the consoles.

Haven't picked this up yet, but I have been reading about disc read issues with Prime 3. Seems like Nintendo knows about it as well. Has anyone had any issues loading the game?

I've heard of some issues, but I think there's already a fix out for it. When I first ran the game it did some sort of update, then afterwards I did a system update. No issues whatsoever for me.

I didn't have any issues, but the first time I loaded the disc it forced a Wii update, so many that was aimed to help disc read issues.

I've put a little time into it, and basically have just made it past the first boss. I have to try the advanced controls, which I haven't yet, but I must say that it is fun so far, and looks great.

Now, if I can just get my daughter to go to bed a little earlier tonight ... :)

I put an hour into this weekend, not nearly as much as I would've liked.....the weekend was way too busy. But anyway, I'm loving the aspect of getting help from the other hunters so far, it makes it feel much better than the MP1 on the Gamecube where it was a completely solo affair (didn't play MP2). I feel like I'm actually helping out in this world, and I hope this continues throughout the game.

Also, the first major boss fight was pretty amazing. So as not to spoil anything, the one I'm referencing can be described by the keyword "falling". I hope other boss fights are as inventive as this.

Yes, definitely switch to the Advanced controls. Despite the name, I think they are actually much easier to use.

Anyway... ***** POSSIBLE SPOLERS AHEAD ****

Anyone want to clue me in on what I was doing wrong against Rundas? I was doing fine and whooping his ass until he started swinging and throwing the large ice crystals. I still managed to beat him, but just barely. I never figured out how to avoid those crystals.

You just have to shoot them and they go poof.

I only have a couple gripes with the game.

1. Sometimes in heavy fire fights it is hard to see the green/red crosshair.

2. I think I'd prefer if the crosshair was centered on the screen and moving the wiimote moved the field of view so it would be more like traditional FPS mouse-look style.

They're just, simply, hard to avoid. I was able to dodge them by continuously jumping in a single direction sometimes.

The first boss had nothing against Omega Pirate from the first game.

I don't get it. The wii makes you have to update it? What if you don't have internet? Is this an excuse to release half assed games and make updates for it later? What happened to the final version being the final, thoroughly tested, working version?

Sadly, I don't remember a damn thing about the first game. Plus, I didn't keep up with the story when I played it. I barely remember the end boss where you fight him in the cave, and then he/it transforms into a smaller being that you fight. If that was the Omega Pirate, then it was tough as hell.
