The videos I watched that were available for dl on the Wii recently actually turned me off to the game. I dunno if it was because they were low res and stretched out to 16x9 on my 58" tv but I thought the game looked horrible. People said the graphics in Zelda were good and I wasn't that impressed....might rent this one first.

Those were really really terrible quality videos. The quality of the graphics in metroid comes from the smoothness of the framerate (rock solid 60fps) and the art design, which just werent well shown off in those crappy trailers.

I'm finding this game is pretty cool, but the control makes it very "meh" to me. I feel like with the wiimote, most games are just more of a chore to play than they are fun to play.
Like turning in this game is just annoying. I found myself turning a lot more than I wanted to, it was getting frustrating.
The whole time I was playign i Just wanted a normal dual analog controller instead of the wiimote. And it's kind of lame the way you open some doors where you pull, turn, push ... because every door so far I've opened has had the same exact pattern. It just felt tacked on.
Also being left handed doesn't help at all, because I'm used to moving my character around with my left hand (left analog stick on most controllers) and aiming with my right hand (right analog on most controllers), however using this setup and pointing with my right arm just felt weird. THen trying to do it the other way didn't feel natural because I was doing everything opposite than I'm used to.
I'm going to give it another go though and see if I can get drawn into it. As of now I can't.

ya right. This is no better than MP2.

this game is totally a disappointment. The graphics were the same as the GC with a few small better lighting effects. :/. Did I mention it got an 8.5 no GS, the only site that matters?
Also, the controls are lame. I dont' want to do 4 motions to get my visor up. And no autoshoot sucks because if you are swarmed with enemies, it's frustrating. My arm also started to get sore after 15 minutes but I guess that is something you have to build up.

It definitely looks much better than either of the gamecube MP games. I don't know what you're smoking over there.

So it is complete...at 100% item collection as well. Slightly disappointed at the ending (it was missing a certain something), but in the end, it's a masterpiece. Few games have immersed me so deeply, and if this game doesnt win best art direction for the year it would be complete robbery. I can only imagine how much more I'd have been blown away if it was in HD, but even lacking that, it has some of the best graphics I've ever seen. The attention to detail really made the game and sucks you in. The fact that they pulled it off on a Wii is amazing.
The biggest complaint I have about the game is that now I'll never see MP1 and MP2 in the same way again because MP3 topped them in just about every area. (Crosses fingers for Wiimake)
My favorite game, ever.

No sir, they look virtually identical. Water effects and all.

Wow, that was fast? How long? Considering you have a wii, you won't have a more favorite game that much is clear.
Some of the best graphics? Have you checked out the 360/ps3 yet?

About 17 hours.
And yes, it has some of the best graphics ever. I used to have a 360 (it collected dust).
Gears of war (arguably the best gfx on the 360) was very technically impressive, and artistically impressive at times, but like most 360 games, it was more about looking realistic than about looking beautiful. The environments in MP3, especially as you get further into the game, are jaw dropping. The beginning it bland compared to the later parts. I cant think of many other games where I actually stop and look around to admire the scenery.
