As Sudheer Anne cannily pointed out in ATPN, it seems unlikely the Republicans would run a moderate Republican like McCain unless things really go south (no pun intended) in a second Bush term. If things go reasonably well over the next four years, another neoconservative with a conservative social agenda will be all but unbeatable.

Not unless the democrats let him run. The Republican party won't allow him to run under their ticket again. He's proven himself to be a volatile, unpredictable man who votes the way he feels instead of with the party. That's unacceptable behavior.

There was some woman who ran recently, but she didn't make it very far. I forget her name... I'm not sure whether we're ready for a woman president, but I do know that I don't give a crap what sex the president is as long as they get the job done.

There was some woman who ran recently, but she didn't make it very far. I forget her name... I'm not sure whether we're ready for a woman president, but I do know that I don't give a crap what sex the president is as long as they get the job done.

I've reached a point where I really don't care. My life would be the same in 4 years with Bush or Kerry as president. They're so similar. All politicians are. Anyone can do the job, but it's a major business having elections and getting someone elected. Lots of money to be made there.

Clinton may have a chance, but I think she would need some Southern Democrat that leans more to the moderate side. Isn't Guliani's health not in top shape?

Hilary is going to have a really hard time in the south. The south is steadily becoming more and more Republican. Over the last 40 years, they've gone from 20 dems and ~9 repubs to 22 rebubs and ~8 dems this year. If Kerry couldn't swing the south (especially deep south and no way in hell will a dem ever get Texas), there's no way someone even MORE liberal, like Clinton, will ever have a chance. On the other hand, I think she'll easily take the coasts and quite possibly many of the northern midwest.

kerry had the terrorist vote with a personal endorsement by bin laden, that was kinda disturbing to me. 😉

As the past 2 elections have shown, you dont need any of the south, or midwest. Just get Ohio or Florida (not really a southern state), and you're in.
