<< Tubby Shaq would foul out by the third quarter trying to defend Jabbar. On top of that Jabbar would have killed him with free throws. >>
Shaq is not foul prone, so I doubt that would happen. Kareem could easily get his skyhook off against Shaq, as he could against anyone. But, on the defensive end, Kareem would have a tough time with Shaq. I recall an interview with Kareem where he stated as much. He was simply too light to defend a guy like Shaq. Look at Mutombo, he was supposed to be this defenive force, but he is getting absolutely STOMPED by Shaq night in and night out.
Really though, its completely pointless to debate this. Its not like they will be playing against each other anytime soon.
<< THose guys are nothing but shills saying what ever the NBC Executives want them to say. The proof is in the ratings and the ratings are down as is the skill level >>
Ramsey works for ESPN. I think you dismiss his analysis by being way too cynical. They aren't the freaking president, they're sports analysts. What would ESPN gain by telling Ramsey to say the Lakers are playing great basketball?
ESPN exec: "Hey I know how we can increase ratings. Lets force Jack Ramsey to say the Lakers are playing great basketball."
2nd ESPN exec: "You know, that just might work!"
The ratings for this years finals have acutally gone up. I know there is an article on yahoo that says this years game 2 had higher ratings than the finals during the Bulls last title run.
