The main reason of the lock screen is security, so that someone can't steal your phone and instantly have access to your entire life, not pocket dialing or inadvertent app launches in your pocket. I find all the efforts people go through to put messaging, email, phone, contacts, etc, OVER the lock screen idiotic.

someone just needs to write an app that requires you to enter a keycode or gesture before you can use those contacts/email/messaging/etc on top of the lockscreen

Cripes, FireFox is much worse with their version numbers. :p In the past 3 or 4 months, we've gone from 4.0 to 10.0.2. I think each version got one or two point releases before the next full number. Realistically, FireFox 10 should be called Firefox 5.5.

Heh, someone bought my Thunderbolt this morning. Thought it'd take longer, priced it a little aggressively though.

it still can't scale to multiple cores
why am I the only one that's pissed about this?

I haven't been reading the entire thread so I may have missed discussion on this topic but is there any info(tools for changing the clocks and info on if people are able to hit them and still keep the phone stable) on getting the GN to its CPU and GPU at their rated clocks and not at the underclocked level?

Can someone check on something for me? I am not getting the full meeting details from my Outlook (Exchange) calendar in my Galaxy Nexus (ICS) calendar.

Setup: Galaxy Nexus, stock rom, Verizon LTE. Running stock Google Calendar on the phone. I've added my company's Exchange server as a sync account to my phone. All appointments and events from Exchange show up but there is little in the way of details. For example, I am looking at this meeting in Outlook that has maybe 10 pages of details (links, notes, etc) and on my phone I see the first two lines. There's not even a (continue) or "read more" link to indicate it might be truncated.

Any ideas?

im having a strange pseudo issue, it might be rom related but ill ask anyway
it has to do with the volume over the headphone plug, it seemes to be abnormally quiet, but i dont remember it always being like this, ive tried using Volume+ to make it louder but that did not do much. However i did notice that if i go into Settings -> sound and adjust the main phone ringer volume to anything the headphone volume becomes MUCH louder. this happens with volume+ uninstalled as well

im running AOKP milestone 3, anyone else seen something like this?

You might have better results asking at the XDA/Rootz Wiki threads for that rom.

Why can't they just make a reasonable extended battery? I have the official one, and I could use a little more battery life, but I don't want these tanks that Mugen and Seidio sell.

Limitations of technology for the moment. Are you will to sacrifice the user replaceable battery for sheer mah? Like the Razr Maxx, or to a lesser extend, the Droid 4.

What I mean is why can't I get something in the 2500-2800 mah range? Stock battery is 1850, oem extended is 2100, then we've got these monsters that are 4000 and 3800. Give me something around 2500.

I agree. I barely notice the difference in terms of size between the standard and extended. The extended one should have been stock. :D

I think it was intended to be the stock battery, until some MBA idiot decided the phone needed to be thinner.

i think i figured it out. Looks like it was a conflict between volume+ and Something in Francos Kernal. he recently added in a bit about changing the volume into it. loading a new version of the kernal and uninstalling V+ seems to have fixed it and his volume edits also apply to the speaker

Ok.

I think the 4.0.4 leak did make some changes to the volume, but I haven't installed it.

Comes with "Noar Field Communication" :D

It gave me a good chuckle. :)

lol - didn't notice that one

Also it's for GSM GNex. I don't have a problem with battery life on stock GSM GNex. I usually finish the day with greater than 50% battery life with the stock battery. I can get ~6 hours of screen time with continuous use on Wifi and about 4 hours screen time with on-off use on 3g. I don't have the time during the work day to use that much.

Google Wallet does not work with rooted phones anymore. That's bull. I have about $12 left on it that I cant get to anymore.

i heard it just says its unsupported device, but it will still work. your $12 if its from a prepaid card is because they still havent fixed prepaid cards for people who had one before the update.
