$540? LTE or GSM?

damn good price if that was GSM

that was LTE. i've seen a few "returned" GSM ones for $625 ish.

LTE for under $600 ish is really good on ebay right now. I'm wondering how much it will drop, since the nexus S took a while to lower in price on there.

razrs and rezounds are running $480-520 ish, so there is still a nexus premium even though its not really out of stock anywhere.

looks about right, doesn't it? Extended battery is like ~15% bigger correct?

I'm still torn whether to pay T-Mobile $200 ETF and switch to VZ and get this phone from Amazon for $150 subsidized or pay $685 for GSM version and ride out my contract til June '12. I prefer GSM as I would prefer to switch to AT&T later but LTE speed sure is attractive.

What phone do you have now? Can you ride out your t-mobile contract and get the GSM version later when it's cheaper? Either way, if you're going to buy unsubsidized, you should get onto one of tmobile's cheaper unsubsidized plans. (like $20-$30 cheaper a month)

The extended battery for what ever reason last tons longer than the stock battery.

I was having issues with my stock battery only lasting a like 3hours with little use to 30%, but with the extended battery, I just hit 30% and it was at 100% at 4pm yesterday, so 10.5 hours, and I have used it a ton. I even installed a new rom and set up all my apps again. The extended battery defiantly works for me. Also 4g is enabled.

I was seriously thinking about returning my phone because the battery life really is just that bad, but now its good for me

Just picked up my nexus tonight
A couple questions i have for you guys. Is there a way to receive group texts seperately from individual texts and then do a reply all? Got a couple friends on iOS and they like to do group texts to coordinate.

Is there a timeline when swype will be available?

I wish facebook sync worked. Looks weird with contacts not having their pictures.

1. Kinda, I know in Handsent, you can create a group text, it will send it out to everyone but if they reply to you it will be in their own thread. Replying to all of them would be as simple as clicking the group thread.

2. Check out http://www.droid-life.com/2011/12/1...act-pics-to-your-galaxy-nexus-try-these-tips/

No idea about swype

Wait a week; but be sure to comment on how the rezound compares to the nexus with regards to battery life, reception and call quality 🙂

hmm i just bought this phone new for $540 on ebay. i couldn't resist something to play with.

my coworker had one, and the stock ICS just sucked me in and the ridiculously cheap ebay auction. gah, i have a perfectly good rezound too...

I kind of think they should have just made the extended battery the standard battery.

Is there a way to make to turn on flash when I want? I have it installed because it can be useful sometimes on a few sites, but with it installed sites with a lot of flash content are slow and not so smooth.

I agree.

First day with it, going good so far.

Man I'm so tempted to sell my 4S and buy a Galaxy Nexus full price. The battery life is my biggest concern, but it sounds like this extended battery does wonders.

they should have done this for many phones

No shit. From the looks of it this thing dies pretty damn quick with regular use. Why would I spend a grand total of 2500 dollars if I wasnt gonna use it all the time? I guess they are so obsessive with slimness as a selling feature they dont actually care if customers can use the freakin thing or not.
The Droid RAZR is supposedly the thinnest smart phone ever made.

I have the GSM version on the normal battery and was able to use it for two days just playing music from PowerAMP and casually checking email each day. I was actually pretty surprised at this.

yup, i've made it to 2 days with light use as well. pretty awesome compared to every other android phone i've ever used.

well if you happen to find a good priced verizon nexus on ebay or whatever with a incipio case and rooted already then you can thank me as my phone was stolen right from under me at the airport. 🙁

Didn't even have seekdroid installed properly. 🙁

Hey when is Anand actually gonna do an official review on the phone? Been out for a while now. Its getting close to Christmas and some of you rich folks may wanna spoil your teenagers with this thing.

Here's my major annoyance so far with the phone. It's a minor one so that's good news.

When you are in the camera app, the Home, Back, and Tasks buttons disappear and are replaced with three dots. I haven't used the phone long enough (just 12 hours) to instinctively memorize that the middle is home, the left is back, etc. I know it's intuitive but I need a quick glance and the icons help. Anyway, if you click on any of the three dots, they quickly turn into the regular icons but then it registers the tap as an action (ie go Home) rather than a "reveal yourself" tap.

Does anyone know if there's any cons to having multiple phone finding apps installed at once? For example Prey, Seek Droid, Lookout. I know it's redundant but they are free (mostly) and for some reason I am imagining a scenario where I forget the activation passphrase for one and need a backup or maybe the thief knows how to disable one but not the other.

There's app called PlanB, which you can install from the Android Market website, after you lost your phone. Give it a try.

The button placement on this is NOT good at all. I know where each one is, but the fact that you have to have your finger placement traveling OVER the home/back buttons to push the shutter button is really, really annoying. Several times when I have tried to get a picture my finger hits the home button.

In the browser settings there's an option for 'Enable Plug-ins' set it to 'on demand' and it will do what you're looking for. There's a little icon placeholder for flash objects you click to enable. In the standard browser it's under the advanced settings, and in Dolphin HD it's under page 'page content settings'

The lack of dedicated buttons especially a dedicated menu button has been talked about a lot. I noticed it too while playing at the Verizon store.

I have the Vibrant. Other than the crappy GPS, it works fine and does everything I need. I don't need the GNexus and I can easily wait 6 months for my contract /w T-Mobile to end. It's want rather than need and the main reason I haven't pulled the trigger. Regardless of what I do, I'm leaving T-Mobile. I've been with them for 12 years and they showed me no loyalty and customer service with the Vibrant and blotched GTab sale. They could offer me free plan and I would still leave them.
