Loving the phone so far. After hanging on to the OG Droid for so long, using the Nexus is a revelation. 🙂

Just some minor nitpicks. Phone just feels very slick to me. It's almost slipped out of my kung fu grip twice. A combination of being slick and maybe a little top heavy.

Battery life on LTE is okay. I was hoping that I'd be able to make it through the day with 4G on and light usage.

I think the display is awesome. I can't really discern any individual pixels and haven't really seen anything that highlighted any drawbacks of a pentile display.

Edit: Battery at 39%, 4G on, 1:15 screen on time, 7:25 unplugged. Not bad.

Go easier on the Jergens and you'll be fine

LOL. Was it Curley from Of Mice and Men that took care of his hands? 😀

Battery at 15%

8h 8m on battery

Screen: 44%, 1h 40m

20 minutes of GPS, 1 short phone call, texts, some games, browsing, downloading, 4G on the whole time. I think I can live with that. Looking forward to seeing what the difference will be with the extended battery.

Battery life should improve after a few cycles of full dead to full charge. I've noticed a difference from yesterday when I bought it, and today.

Extended battery and cover are $25 on VZW right now.

OK. Got the phone to 8 hrs. To the very end I was using it to check Facebook and texting.

Charging from 0 to 100 took just over 2 hrs. I wonder if ICS throttles down the CPUs below 15%. I was expecting the phone to die faster. Then again it might be I'm used to the old battery from my Droid.

Purchased. 😀

Sweet deal. I have 2 12 hour days every week. Extended battery should help me survive that.

What is the best price to get this unlocked right now? I have a 3GS and don't want to wait untill February until this comes out. So far ~750 is the best price I have seen. Does anyone think it will drop to 500 to 550 range anytime soon?

I assume you mean the GSM version.

The other carriers should be getting it soon. While I haven't seen anything official on how long Verizon's exclusive deal is, the rumor is that it's for one month. So going by that, you should see it on AT&T and/or T-Mobile in ~30 days.

Incoming.

We're told that the new release includes a variety of optimizations and bug fixes for phones and tablets, as well as a small number of new APIs for developers. For those curious, the new API level is 15, and some of those new ones include social stream API in Contacts provider, Calendar provider enhancements, newfangled camera capabilities (apps can now check and manage video stabilization and use QVGA resolution profiles where needed) and accessibility refinements (improved content access for screen readers and new status and error reporting for text-to-speech engines). Moreover, we're promised minute improvements in "graphics, database, spell-checking, Bluetooth, and more." Finally, the company makes clear that going forward, it'll be "focusing its partners on Android 4.0.3 as the base version of Ice Cream Sandwich," with rollouts expected for both phones and tablets in "the weeks ahead."

Yeah i think some more throttling might occur at 15%, seemed to take a lot longer to kill it than to get down to low battery.

I thought the whole concept of memory on a battery isn't applicable to new batteries and that constant full depletion actually reduces the life of the battery. Maybe that is just on laptop batteries?

Well I decided to spend some cash on some batteries since they were cheap ($25).

I ordered 2 extended batteries as well as the standalone charger (which includes an extra 1850 battery). overall ti's going to cost me $94.

My plan is to always have a battery charged just in case. I have a long commute and use my phone heavily on the days where it's not my turn to drive.

My plan is to try to sell the extra 1850 battery to a friend to recoup some of the cost.

Is there a multimedia/clock type dock for the LTE Nexus? Searches only bring up car docks, which is not what I'm looking for. I want a dock that holds the phone in landscape position.

Just had my first broken app due to the screen size. Majesty 4 (or 3 not sure which) doesn't draw correctly and gets all fubar.

Wow boozier, that's impressive. Is that with the standard battery? I just had my phone reboot for no reason while scrolling in between screens. I hope it was a fluke.

You're correct, the Lithium Ion batteries do not have a "memory" issue like the old Nickle-Cadmium batteries of yore did. However, you should still discharge a LiIon battery once in a while (maybe every other month) as this calibrates the actual life of the battery to the meter that is displayed to you, making it more accurate.

FYI I read that the door on the standalone charger doesn't close when using the extended batteries.

I'm waiting for 3rd parties to come out with better accessories, cause the "Nexus" car dock is pointless. I want a dock that starts charging the phone without me having to mess with wires.
