Yeah, it was an understated presentation but ICS is seriously amazing.

It basically takes every strong point of all the market leaders and merges it. I'll have to try it out to see where the failings are but it looks superbly slick.

How long does it take to send a text? Email, I understand because it's a bit slower. Some emails take 20 - 30 seconds to transfer up and back down.
The difference is that you don't have to copy the text, start the messaging app and then paste the text and then your friend has to open the text, copy the text and then paste it again.

Instead, you just tap.

Damn. Nothing extremely exciting, but I really want that high res screen. Not really sure if I might get it...may get a 4S after all.

If I'm already running the app that I'm showing you (or reading an article, etc.), why would I want to exit it and send you a link via text when I can just beam it to your phone and continue enjoying what I'm doing?

That's like saying there's no reason to have easy access to settings when you can just dig through your phone to get to them because it only takes 10 seconds more. It's called convenience.

Yeah makes sense. I was hoping for something that would be a game changer. Something that would make buying an Android phone a no-brainer.

This was nothing of that sort.

Well no other OS has any of these features so if this doesn't make you look twice then nothing will.

What? Besides incorporating every single strength of all the other OS's?

Smooth UI from IOS and WP7.

Convenient swiping from WP7. Improved widgets to parallel WP7's ability to present information.

Complete integration of contact information a la WebOS combined with WebOS style task management.

What exactly were you looking for?

It's not a bad phone, just most phones coming out these days have those specs. The OS and phone look like the work really well together, which is a big seller for me.

I am happy to see Android pushing the envelope, this looks like it is going to be an awesome Android OS release.

Everyone knows I favor iOS and if I am impressed it was a damn good presentation. I like the new UI a lot, any word on what manufacturers are going to do with it? I hate when they skin their phones... It seems like Nexus Prime is the Android device to get if your planning on going Android.

Same here. The screen + form factor + new fonts may make me get it...

Lol okay... I still stand by the fact that the new google has forgotten how to innovate.

Innovation is what leads a market. They still are playing catch up and it's clearly visible in this release. This marks another android release where they are taking pieces and parts from WebOS, WM7, and iOS.

Now go ahead and disagree with me as most people here are Android fanboys.

???

Android has ALWAYS had the most feature filled OS. They are showing it yet again that Android is leading the pack with features baked into the OS. I just don't know what to tell you. That's like complaining about iOS notifications and saying they are just trying to catch up.

lolol, they did copy a lot of stuff. BUT - they are trying to copy the best parts and put it into one place.

im sure it will be but TBH using it for payments is pretty low on my lists of things i will ever use

actually seeing as i live in the boonies im not sure i even could use it

but yes as DLeRium it was an excellent presentation

You'd be surprised, I don't exactly live in a extremely populated area but I was buying something the other day and looked down and realized it was nfc compliant.

And ok yeah, I don't give a shit that it's not a 2ghz quad core xxx processor, I am buying this! ICS looks excellent! Finally smoothness, speed, 'unity' within the OS, improved usability, and it looks pretty nice as well.

Everyone copies everyone. It's a good thing to integrate into ONE package all the strong points. Even iOS copied Android's notification system because it's obviously a superior method.

I wish they demo'd some tablet stuff though. I bet there are even more nice innovations there in ICS.

Looks like a really good phone but I just hate the design. How to say.. too uninspiring?

Also that camera..damn! I was genuinely impressed and it was a 'holy shit' moment at how fast it took pictures! Panorama and ability to take shots while capturing video = epic win!

I bet that phone looks incredible in person. You really can't judge from the pixelated mess of a video they showed.

I think he's saying that it looks like any other high-end phone which it does. We've been wowed already by this phone design and while I'm sure it looks great, it's nothing different. The real star of the show is ICS.
