The only thing that I don't like about the extended battery is it's taking Android OS some time to "recalibrate" itself. I am getting about half the battery life from the extended than I am from the standard battery. Hopefully that changes in the next few days.

First two days with it I didn't notice any improvement. Then Saturday I got about 18 hours with over an hour of screen time and I still had around 15% left when I plugged it in. Yesterday I had over 2.5 hours of screen time and still had close to 30% left when I plugged it in when I went to bed.

Yeah I am not worried. I have always had Android adjust itself. What sucks though is I have plans to use both batteries interchangeably. For example, maybe if I go to a nice restaurant or club and don't want the extra bulk of the extended battery, I'll swap to the standard battery. Well, I don't think ICS is smart enough to recognize that so the power management will be all wonky.

I guess you can do that. I don't see the need myself because I really don't find it that bulky though. The Diztronic case I bought fits about the same, so I really can't tell the difference.

Me too! No case or screen protector on my phones.

i've never actually bought a case for a phone until this one.

but i have really big hands for the most part and this phone oddly is really slick and easy to drop. its the thinnest smartphone by far i've had (i've basically had only sliders and the tbolt...) and the back is super slick since it has that texture on it that doesnt really help.

case for me anyway is just helping me not drop it

The difference in thickness is miniscule. If you compare the back covers of the stock vs. the extended battery cover, they're virtually identical. For a second I forgot which was which, but one was still colder than the other from being outside (delivery).

How hot does your guys phone get? Mine is very very warm after about 20 minutes on the phone.

When I play games it gets pretty warm after 30 minutes. I guess I can see that. However my coworker who has a droid razr says his doesn't ever get warm at all.

However, I just don't see how the phone gets so hot when I'm just using it as a phone. I don't have any apps running or anything - just the phone function gets the thing uncomfortably hot around the ear. I'm almost thinking of exchanging it or returning it. Does anyone else notice this?

It gets warm when I pretty much do anything. Usually after I'm done using it it cools down quickly, but this is troubling.

Mine gets pretty warm also. At other forums, responses range from "it's normal" to "mine never does that get a new one."

So it seems T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 battery will fit and work on Verizon LTE Galaxy Nexus.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456376

This means cheap battery option for LTE owners. Three 1850mAh battery with charger for $13 shipped

one 1850mAh battery for $4 shipped

Of course these are not official battery but for that price you can carry around couple batteries and use your phone 24/7 nonstop.
multiple batteries defeats the purpose of a phone to me.

Anyone else set up an exchange email and notice it completely rape the battery?

Like, I was down to 40% at lunch time, and usually it's at 80-90% depending. I didn't even receive a single email that day.

I've had exchange email setup from day 1 and have not had any kind of battery loss like that.

Get a screen protector... mine has a scratch in it already after 10 days :(
The scratch is on the bottom of the glass and isn't on the actual display, but it's annoying nonetheless. I think all the gorilla/fortified glass claims are hype - just because keys or a knife won't scratch it doesn't mean it won't get scratches.

I'm still thinking about exchanging it because of the heat issue - hopefully verizon won't notice the scratches.

I'm also finding it impossible to adjust the volume of this at the gym when I lay it on its side. Pushing the volume button pushes the phone against the power button, turning the screen off.

All my prior phones with Gorilla glass were amazing. This one doesnt have it and I already have a micro scratch that I can see at a certain angle.

be careful if you use those verizon brand screen protectors. i had 2 of these phones and i go a tiny tiny scratch on the edge of the glass since those verizon brand screen protectors don't cover the whole screen (leaves like 2mm on each side).

get almost any of the ebay ones and they cover the full screen and more of the front facing camera / speaker part than those verizon ones

After I managed to scratch my iPod touch and my Droid 1, I put screen protectors on everything. I don't care if manufacturers say these screens are scratch resistant and people post videos of keys hacking the crap out of the screens with no scratches, my experience tells me otherwise. So I cover it up!

The XO Skins screen protector is great, I barely notice it's on. I do have some of those ones from DC Mugen on eBay coming as well, but they will probably get here sometime around the time I'm due for a new phone.

There are a lot of variables with fortified glass. I have a feeling glass thickness varies (and has an impact on scratch resistance), or otherwise there is some variable that changes things, or it's simply luck.

My Droid (OG) survived the entire time I owned it (launch day through mid September 2011) and I think the most it had was a minor scratch that was basically impossible to notice, and a minor pit/abrasion about the size of a grain of sand. My Bionic picked up a few scratches after dropping it for the first time 3 days after owning. Both phones had been dropped in similar ways, the OG was dropped numerous times and I kept it naked the entire time. The body was beat up like no other, but the glass was amazing. For some reason, the Bionic's gorilla glass was far weaker than the OG's.

The SGN seems to have pretty good glass, but I've managed to not drop it yet (plus I got a TPU case on it at the moment, no screen protector yet). Still, I think the wrong grain of sand, dust, or whatever, managed to find itself on the phone, because there's a very faint, hard to see hairline scratch over the display. I can't see it unless I have the display off and I'm looking for it, so that's nice.

Waiting for the SGP Hybrid case (one that is compatible with Verizon extended battery), and still trying to decide which is the best SP to use.

Any ideas? My desires for the perfect SP: no orange peel, no degradation of image quality in any way, it basically changes nothing but adds a layer of protection. No change to contrast or color quality, no change to viewing angles, etc. Such a protector exist?
