It's a LTE CDMA Nexus. I found similar instructions but they all require Cyanogen or similar bootloader hacks. Is there any "clean" way to upgrade?

You wait for the official OTA. If we're lucky, sometime this month. Could be 4.0.5 though.

Verizon's not the quickest when it comes to updates either.

If bandwidth is there concern, I'm not sure why they can't simply host an update.zip on the web to let users manually flash without voiding warranties.

Does anyone know if there is a battery life difference when having NFC on or off? I couldn't find any info regarding this.

I highly doubt there is any difference whatsoever. NFC uses extremely little power.

I found an issue with the touch screen on the Nexus. It's easy to see if you try a game like Pewpew, Nova 2, or GTA 3. It seems like there are some bugs when using two fingers at once on the screen. In GTA 3 I notice that when driving around the car lets off on the gas when I turn. In Nova 2 there's issues with moving around and looking around at the same time. Pewpew also has issues with moving and shooting at the same time. Anyone else able to confirm any of these for themselves?

It's known landscape multi-touch bug. It's fixed on 4.0.4 update. If you're not running 4.0.4, you can temp fix it by locking your screen and then unlocking it. That should reset the multi-touch temporary.

Ah it's fixed in a later update? Thanks for the info that puts me at ease. I'll just wait for the OTA :)

camera is definitely better with the 4.0.4 update. I took lot of pictures on week long beach trip and not a single blurry pic. :) I used to get about blurry shot about 33% of the time on 4.0.2 and below.

I've thought of waiting for OTA update from my carrier, but screw them, just use this:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392310

And flash with Googles official 4.0.4 factory rom.

Worked perfectly for me. Big props to dev mskip on this one!

Now I can get better video and pics compared to 4.0.1.

On the Nexus S it made the camera much faster as well compared to Gingerbread.

Seems kinda stupid, but is this phone still worth getting? I'm getting a pretty nice deal on one, even though I wanted to try iOS/WP.

Yes. Until next gen devices roll out, the Galaxy Nexus is still the best phone on Verizon's line up. On AT&T, it might have to share that with the Galaxy Note and S2 though.

Not really applicable to the ICS/Nexus thread, but I'll render an opinion. :p

Facebook's developers are incompetent and the general user doesn't care.

Well, I jumped on the G Nex bandwagon today. Traded a 4S for the G Nexus, because I honestly wanted to try this device out!

Liking what I'm seeing so far.

Anyone else having issues with the stock browser loading sites properly? The sites render fine but don't always load fully the first time, a refresh of the page fills in the missing data.

I wish chrome would import my bookmarks from my mobile bookmark account, then I could easily switch to it.

Edit: just realized I was signed into chrome with the wrong account, figured I could use 2 accounts like normal browser. *facepalm*

But I must say, I sorely miss the Retina Screen. The G Nex's screen does horrible with anything that is not max brightness. Mine in particular has a lot of visible artifacts on white background at low brightness.

If it's that bad try and exchange it, it's still under warranty. Mine is like that too but it wasn't terrible and I've gotten used to it.

The screen does look significantly better at greater than 50% brightness. When I get low brightness levels I notice banding and graininess. I've gotten used to it though. It was really noticeable when I went from the iPhone 4S to the Nexus at first.
