I was thinking of the korean dad.

zimfamous isn't active anymore right?

are you high? lol.

Dad's family house was 2 houses up from that...Baptist? church on Lead Mine road, just as you are approaching Glenwood. It was eventually sold to that church as some kind of youth ministry sex dungeon (I can only assume), after it was inhabited by my brother and various people during some of his college years.

I lived on Calvin road for the first couple of months of my life, near St Mary's, Wily school--downtown/west Raleigh area, Rocky Mount for some years, then back to Raleigh from grade school on.

I haven't been back much, though, in the last 16, 17? years, as most of my crew have moved out, family too.

My great uncle owned a massive shitton of land throughout the region, gave the city all sorts of hell over the years, too. Donated a lot of it to Umstead and portions of it were siphoned off. Pretty much all of Reedy Creek was is. It was all "famrland" and dirt roads when I was growing up. Now that area is mostly shithole paved roads, yuppie mcmansion shitboxes stacked on top of yuppie mcmansion shitboxes stacked on top of more yuppie mcmansion shitboxes.

Story goes, and based on what we do know...great granddad was more or less the "Al Swerengin" of modern/mid-century Raleigh town. Lotta shit went down in and out of his business....

I got super confused, my apologies.

That's really cool though! I guess Raleigh has gotten more "city like" but not as much as Chicago or other massive cities. Lots of developments going on though, especially in the Cary area.

The Cary & Apex areas are all getting very over developed. It will cause a traffic nightmare very soon. There are already plans to start in late 2020 to widen Hwy 55 from Salem St down to US1 from 1 lane each way to 2 lanes each way.

Duke Energy reports that the dam separating the cooling lake at Sutton has failed due to Cape Fear River flooding. The coal ash impoundment was already compromised by heavy rain and had been seeping into the lake.
