The yellow tracks look good for NC. Our state needs a good soaker.

i thought so too this morning but if you look at the current drought status, it's gotten a lot better. don't need it as much as i thought.

They're still in extreme drought in western NC. In the Triangle, we're barely at normal rainfall for the year and several inches behind since the middle of last year.

I don't see it making the extreme left hand turn in Georgia like they are showing.

You guys should get some rain up there.

thanks prophet. glad you know more than the NHC.

freaking media calling in Killer Storm Kay and crap...should be uneventful, but I am sure the irk of the earth will be making insurance claims.

Looks like the path predictions are putting it right over me later today. It is supposed to slow down around here too.

Wow, 9:00PM update, it's stationary, sitting in the middle of the state sucking up swampwater and thriving. Weathermen have never seen a tropical system GAIN 10MPH in wind speed and form an eyewall while over land. The outer bandsare about 15 miles from my house, (Daytona), I was watching them pummel New Smyrna beach at sunset. Storm is supposed to enter the Atlantic (and the gulf stream), strenthen to a class 1-2 hurricane then smack FL again, possibly to cross the state and enter the gulf (warm) waters and pummel someone else. This is major weather freaky..

Fay is still here. I have another day off from work. My yard has sprouted several ponds. I wonder how much rain would be necessary for the entire yard to turn into a pond. I hope a break in the rain comes soon so I can let my dog out.

It's stationary again, they sent us home today @ noon and told us to stay home tomorrow too. Crazy rain amounts from Melbourne-Coco area, some are already over 30" and could get more..

CAt1s are just like an itch to be scratched and that is all. No need to go through special preparations.

That is what everyone thought about Tropical Storm all Allison and look what she did.

Looks like I was right Tropical Storm Fay is very similar to Tropical Storm Allison.

My gf is flying to Jacksonville to visit family tonight (they live in near Daytona where Flagler beach is...which is gonna be hit worse?). Should I be worried🙁? SHe should be there around midnight.

I live in the NW corner if St Johns county just south of Jacksonville and I wouldn't be worried.

Bullcrap

Outflow is already over Western North Carolina increasing humidity.

Georgia is going to start getting much needed rain along the Georgia/Florida border.

It's fighting against that high big time.

These systems can make theri own weather envelope that's why computer only forcasts are routinely so far off.

They gotten better but to rely on them 100% is just wrong.

They are still showing it making it to the Mississippi/Louisiana border.

I still think it will force it's way up along the Alabama/Georgia border.

Either way hopefully some rain makes it to the parched areas in western north carolina.

nope, you said you didn't think it would make the western turn like it's doing right now. it's quoted, you were wrong, deal with it.

and where the fuck do you see rain in western NC on this radar?

http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/southeast_loop.php

some outflow, yes, but it's not doing anything for us

I said it is not going to make it as far as Louisiana like they have been showing.

In fact right now it looks like it is starting to go north.

When it rains from Fay will you stand outside for me?

Edit: Even they are starting to lean my way

FAY CONTINUES TO BE STEERED BY
MIDDLE-LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE EASTERN UNITED STATES.

THIS HIGH IS FORECAST TO WEAKEN IN 3 DAYS OR SO.

THEREAFTER...FAY IS EXPECTED TO BECOME EMBEDDED WITHIN A LIGHT SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW AND SHOULD BEGIN TO DRIFT TOWARD THE NORTHEAST OR REMAIN NEARLY STATIONARY AS A REMNANT LOW.

THIS IS BASICALLY THE SOLUTION PROVIDED BY MOST OF THE GLOBAL MODELS AND TRACK GUIDANCE. THE OFFICIAL FORECAST IS VERY CLOSE TO THE MODEL CONSENSUS.

REGARDLESS OF ITS EXACT TRACK...FAY WILL BE MOVING RATHER SLOWLY
DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS...POSING A SIGNIFICANT HEAVY RAINFALL
AND FLOOD HAZARD TO A VERY LARGE AREA.
