As far as i'm concerned, any other phone in the market can fuck off and die.
It's amazing how easy it is to root and install the wifi tether app. Everything can be done from the phone, just download unrevoked and android-wifi-tether and you're all set.
Is 2.2 that much better? Is it worth risking the root?

not at all... I actually checked my phone in the dark after it was mentioned in this thread and didn't notice any leakage.is anyone else having an issue with the adhesive at the bottom of the phone? I have light leakage underneath the capacitive buttons that goes away temporarily when I press on that area.

ruh-roh. looks like that could be an issue that affects everyone
There really isn't much to risk. Google isn't like Apple in which they'll try to brick your phone for hacking it and you can always easily go back to stock. If you just want something stable then it's best not to root as there are tons of quirks and bugs that can be in the roots. I've rooted tons of times and even rooted 4 times in one week trying out different versions. Not that hard to do.
Is 2.2 any noticeably faster than 2.1?
Also what cases do you guys have? I had the seidio case for my Hero and it was great. I'm pondering the Seidio Innocase II.
Uh oh's:

Can any of our resident EVO owners confirm this issue?
