That.... was depressing.

Harry is going to open up a can of wizard whoopass in the next book.

Excellent book, great read... just still depressed.

Lack of character developement!? Did you not read any of the other books??

I would discuss this but i dont want to give anything away.

Should i start a seperate discussion thread, in which we discuss all aspects of the book seeing as there are many people who haven't read it yet

I meant it isn't much in this book, as if that person becomes a third class citizen. granted this is a harry potter book and not harry potter, ron, hermi, and other people book.

i hope malfoy gets it. that guy always bothered me. and why did he become the defacto leader of slitherin as a first year? you'd think that guys like that wouldn't take crap from a 12 year old when they're 17 or whatnot.

No spoilers, please. :)

Thanks.

I'm not 12, so no book. And I walked out of the first Harry Potter movie. What a bunch of garbage kids have to put up with these days.

The Harry Potter movies weren't great, but they really casted the kids well. However, the parents/teachers...not what I had hoped for at all.

Why dont you leave this thread and stop annoying the people who do find this subject interesting then.

Some asshat just emailed me the ending of the book. I know him, and I'm going to hunt him down and strangle him. Maybe eat his intestines, too.

>.< GAWDDAMN, THE BOOK IS SPOILED NOW!

Ah!...I want to finish it! I have about 180 pages left and have been going at it all of today and most of yesterday! I am a slow reader...I believe I have ADD or something too. Haha...very distractable..I have to change positions every 10 minutes to get comfortable. I stoped at chapter 22 "After the Burial" figured I would leave the big bruhaha for tomorrow after an early release from work. DAMN IT! I wanna know!!!!!!

On another note..have you guys/gals noticed the puns on the street names? Knockturn Alley? Diagon Alley?

Just finished the book about an hour ago after getting it Saturday afternoon. The book was pretty good, I'm just going to be impatient for the next year waiting for Rowling to print out the next one :p I didn't really like the ending of The Half-Blood Prince, JK should've left more of a cliffhanger. I never did like Prof. Snape...

Can you remove that last line, please? It's kind of a spoiler...

Anyways, I just finished it...wow.

Now we get to wait three+ years for the next one, I know she'll spend even more time on it than the others.
Has she officially said there would only be seven? Seeing as how it's going in a completely new direction...I would assume there would be more.

How many of you are over 13, don't you need to be over 13 to be legally using this site?

This stuff cracks me up.

Finally read the book. Not too impressed overall with the way the plot turned out. I imagined a more practical, realistic, darker story, not this sappy love crap that seems to be the overriding theme in the last two books.

And if I were a wizard, I'd have a leash for my wand (this is important when a certain character loses his wand in the end). I mean if snowboards and surfers have it figured out by now, you'd think the damn wizards would know.

Got the book, and well I'm sorry to say it feels more like a bad fanfic then Rowling's work.

I guess what I want to see is Harry to grow into a Dumbledore kind of wizard. Amazingly powerful, yet honest and innocent in all intentions, you know? Walk softly, carry a big stick. Maybe it's just the action-movie buff in me, but I want to see Harry kick some ass (Voldemorts) in a highly complicated and strategic wizarding battle.

But anyway... 7 MORE HOURS!! :)

Too late. Another book passes, and Harry Potter is still a dumb fvck.

I agree with this first paragraph. They should really carry backup wands, my guess is HP needs one to fight Voldemort.

This is the equivalent of Star Wars Episode II; a useless buildup book where the main character is a fool, then becomes a god in what is a rushed but good finale.

Harry really is a lucky sob. I just wish he would actually learn something on his own.. If Fred/George can create all their toys, Harry can certainly understand magic enough to craft a few spells of his own (or at least understand his classes).
