i've done a little of the campaign, very impressed with the visuals, although the gameplay is very different to me. i've been playing Halo PC competitively for a while now, and I guess I got too used to the weapons. on Live, I tried running around with pistols for awhile, till I confirmed the fact that they suck now. It's very sad when running around with dual SMG's owns anyone. seems to me like they sacrificed aiming skills for all-out full auto carnage. Halo PC league matches generally revolve around aiming skills with the old pistol and sniper rifle, in addition to the carnage of the heavy weapons (fuel rod, rocket launcher, flamethrower). In Halo 2, you empty full-auto clips into people until they die. Maybe this is a premature opinion, since i've only played for 1-2 hours multiplayer.

okay i got the clan invite last night but i was kinda busy playing with my other friends. so it's ghe GPx clan? i don't even know what gamer pouch is lol. We should do a strictly AT one and then have a GPx one, and then have battles :p

that would be fun.

Purbeast <--- stats so far.

i've mainly been playing custom games with friends and stuff.

I don't like that you can't shoot while remaining zoomed in with the pistol. I used that many a time. The plasma pistol seems weakend too, but it might just be that the enemies are harder to kill. The battle rifle and shotgun are really good, though, and the plasma rifle seems better.

dude well a little fyi. when you zoom in with the pistol equipped, you are using your binoculars, you aren't using a pistol scope. so kinda makes sense you can't shoot while zoomed in.

as far as the whole weapons adjustments, i think it is great. the weapons are way more balanced. granted it was fun to zoom in with a pistol and snipe with it from half way accross the board, it was just not realistic and not fair. think about it. thats why they changed it. i think its better now that the pistol is the weakest gun (unlike the first halo, it was arguably the most powerful weapon in the game). the SMG is a great weapon to start with. if you get dual SMG's, now you can do some serious damage.

at first i was like you, griping about the weapons and how the starting weapons sucked. but now i think its great. and i agree, the shotgun is badass! the best is creeping behind someone, giving them one shotgun blast and then hitting them with the butt of the shotty :)

My opinions about the game are as follows. The multiplayer is great. Most framerate slowdowns happen in the campaign cut scenes. have not had a single problem with the xbox live portion except for the waiting. Still have to get to the party making.

On the campaign side of things. I have been waiting for the plotline (!SPOILER ALERT!) for a long time. I think the Arbiter/Covenant approach to things works well. They make another hero from the general that failed at Halo 1, and they also set up the stage for the third one where one party goes to stop the rest of the Halos from activating with Johnson and Keyes' daughter while Master Chief is on the Covenant/Forerunner ship headed to Earth. So I guess it would be safe to say that if and when the third Halo is made it will follow the same style of campaign second one came up with. Though after making $125 million in the first day sales, probably a ten fold or more return on investment, I doubt if they do not make another one.

After watching the collectors edition DVD, it is obvious to see that Jason Jones who is the project lead in the game, screw up to say the least. They planned a lot for the game, such as the ATV, the flamethrower, more bad guys, engineers, the animals that live on Halo, and most of them did not make it to the actual game. The main problem was that they guys at Bungie wanted to conclude the plot with a 9 level game that started on Earth went to another Halo and then ended back at Earth again. But they failed. I feel that this is familiar to the Longhorn launch, which omits some important developments in order to get the product out. After all, what did we expect from a Microsoft product. The point is, I felt like playing the game was like watching Kill Bill 1 , or the transition from Matrix Reloaded to Revolutions. You know that it is in the making but you have to wait so long, but the wait there is years and years instead of six months.

I guess the next Halo might be the launch title for the upcoming xbox, which would not be at all. Sorry if I spoiled the game for the those who had not finished it yet.

And, is it just me or did the game become more difficult? I feel like the heroic level on Halo 2 is almost the legendary level Halo 1. Any thoughts?

First of all, you should put a warning for spoilers in your post as to not make people angry. Secondly, Heroic is sooooo hard. I could play the first on heroic without too much of a problem but now I feel like I'm just cannon fodder... specially to those snipers on earth.

Yah... thanks a lot jackass. Way to be a team player and spoil it for the rest of us. Some of us do have jobs and can't sit at the Xbox for 3 days straight trying to beat the game.

Sorry about the spoiler. But I would think that you would at least know that I would be talking about the plotline once I said PLOTLINE. By the way the game does not take more than a day of playing. Also, all the reviews I have read mention enough about the game and the covenant side. Get a grip, and some manners.

Some of us have avoided all reviews, thus far. :)

(But then again, I didn't read your initial post, because it looked risky. :p )

Hopefully this isn't common, but I've just found a game I played that didn't keep track of the stats correctly.

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Ga...player=blurredvision81

This match was team slayer, first team to 100 wins. Well, as you see, it shows the red team winning with a score of 49 to 51? In the end, the blue team won 100 to 97, as I remember the close fight to the end. Also, it recorded my bad start with only 5 kills, but I came back in the later half of the game and ended with 17 kills. Now, my great match doesn't look so great now that I can't prove it.

Not only are the stats wrong, but I also got a crap 14th ranking for that game. Thankfully it wasn't a ranked game. Should've gotten 3rd with the team win and being 3rd in kills :(.

Like I said, hopefully this isn't common.

Got Halo 2 and DoA:Ultimate, and my xbox has been seeing overtime these past few days.

Almost done with the Halo 2 campaign. It's definitely an improvement over Halo 1.. but I was expecting it to beat my expectations. I got Halo 1 without even reading a review or hearing of the game the month the XBox came out, and it was friggen great and beat it in 1 night. I'm not getting that same addicting feeling from Halo 2, but it's a good buy nonetheless.

Major complaints: I thought the battle rifle could have its burst turned off, like the E3 Demo showed? Having it on full 3 shot burst seems pretty stupid to me. Also I have a widescreen and it won't let me split the TV up and down - in widescreen halo 2 co-op it splits it left and right and I'll walk into rooms not seeing people right next to me.

Has anyone finished the game on Legendary? Are tehre any extras to speak of? (for the love of God don't spoil them, just mention if there are any) I'm getting through Heroic with some difficulty but it is manageable, I've tried Legendary in the first level and got my ass handed to me in record time so I'm wondering if it is worth the effort to get through it.

Side note schultzey11, you can buy a replacement drive on eBay, I think

Beat it yesterday, only took two nights of gaming to do it. Legendary will provide a nice 2nd playthrough as well as some serious coop ownage.

My thoughts on the Campaign is that it could definately be longer, I didn't even realize I had just beaten the game until the credits started rolling, so they definately either seriously dropped the ball or did a genious job of setting up for a Halo 3 most likely to debut with XBox Next or whatever it is going to be called. Halo 3 would only really need a resolution/detail work over for graphics, they are still very stunning so they could use a lot of the same engine and have a release ready in time for the next system (due in a year if the talk is true)

At first I didn't know what to think of the game changes, they certainly changed the tactics around (no more relying on invulnerable vehicles for protection) and the new weapons and dual wielding weapons definately change the way you engage enemies, of which there are also new enemies.

The levels were huge, but the repetetiveness wasn't completely gone, defiantely much better but I didn't mind it the first time conisdering I don't expect such massive capital star ships and space stations to not be boring and offer me a new and challenging suprise around every corner.

The "twist" is predictable but welcomed and fun but not worth being excessively hyped up (some have compared it to Empire Strikes back and learning Vader is Lukes father, but its not even close, if you want a suprise grab KOTOR for $10-20 for XBox for a suprise that is even better than that of Empire)

there is an unlockable level called foundation that you get when you beat the single player campaign

but there is a glitch where you have to wait for the last level to do the barrel rolls in the banshee

(instead of doing them on that beginning level like it says in the turorial you have to wait for the last level to do them)

on gamespot it said you need to beat it on herioc (i did it on normal) but another day it said any difficulty
