Buddy of mine was playing the game.
Said the game is very Linear. The online play isn't all that great. Single player is very cool, but the online play is very linear and with no Team Fortress of CS2 out anytime soon, not much excitment over Multi play.

What he means is that what you do online is walk in a line by pressing forward, and progressing through a level. These types of linear online games with no story or gameplay are becoming very popular.

I just talked to God and he said the game is very Linear. The online play isn't all that great. Single player is very cool, but the online is very linear and with no Team Fortress or CS2 ou anytime soon, not much excitment over Multi play.

Why even talk about CS:S like it also isn't out yet? Most everyone in here already has it via purchasing through Steam and knows how it plays.

Is anyone else downloading from steam very slowly? I downloaded the first 25% very quickly, then is suddenly crawled to a stop and hasn't budged very much. I tried re-installing steam, which didn't do very much, except make me restart pre-loading again. :frown:

Take a look here.

Looks like Vavle is getting hit harder and harder by the hour. Why did you wait to preload?

Wasn't sure if I was going to play it a lot, because I got my last final coming up soon, and the Bar Exam soon afterwards.

I looked at that earlier, and saw that since their bandwidth was about 50% of max, I thought that I'd be fine.

Damn I lucked out on the Best Buys temporary early release but at least I got a preorder thing at gamestop on the way today. Looks like I'll probably miss out on the gathering but I'll be joining in on the fun by tomorrow!

Ha! Funny you mention that because I purchased the Silver package not more than 20 minutes ago. I have an "economy" internet package from a local cable provider for 512/128 service and Steam seems to be doing an adequate job of maxing out my connection.:) It still won't be finished until tomorrow morning, but it's downloading as fast as it will let me, which is all I can ask for. It won't be released until 3:00AM eastern time anyway, so i still won't get to play until tomorrow evening.

Yep, I was monitoring my downstream usage and the download was average a little over 60KBps, so it should be done in about 14-16hrs. Kinda shitty, but it will be finished and waiting for me when I get home from work tomorrow night.
