Read Kyle and was disappointed. Yet another card with 6870 type performance. Nice for those not already owning a card of that caliber - if the price is right. Anyways I am sure nv pr will something to hype out of this overpriced mediocrity.

Its not mediocre but not OMG BEAST either.

Okay, so I have been looking for info on whether the GTX560Ti is good enough for 3D vision gaming...I thought at less 16x10, however, it doesnt appear to be as big a performance hit as 1st thought....
http://3dvision-blog.com/ details at bottom of the page & at 19x10!...sweet!
The benchies were done on a X6 at stock 2.8Ghz and the 560Ti was also at stock!

Huh, looks like the gigabyte model from tigerdirect only gets a 1 year warranty vs a 3 year from newegg. Wonder why. Oh well, if it aint broke after 30 days i guess it's unlikely to just drop dead 18 months in right? I hope anyway. Never had a card die on me, doubt this will be the first. Why'd I type that, I just jinxed myself.

I'm not a crazy enthusiast so even if I experiment with oc I figure the absolute ceiling will be to match the specs of the SOC model, but I'll probably settle for a jump halfway to that point. Wasn't worth the extra $25 imo.

I'm getting the MSI FrozrII or 6950 ( depends on how easy it is to flash to 6970 ) I dont really game on high reso screens max will probably 24 so the MSI would most likely be the best choice

I don't know gang...the more I read, the more the $260 AR shipped HIS 6950 2gb deal going on at the Egg seems to make the most sense for 1920x1200 gaming in my situation, and then on top of that I can do the shader-only unlock mod.

I can see moving up to a 27" or 30" IPS panel at some point in the future too and I'm not sure the 560 is going to be good enough at 25 x 16 rez.

Can you guarantee that every 560 oc's >900MHz? No one can.. just as 560 is a good oc'er, 6950's have good unlocking potential(>85% IIRC). There are no absolutes.

There are several 560 cards available @ 900mhz. If some company offered an "unlocked" 6950 then it might be something you could bank on at least a little bit.

Every 560 at 900 is a guarantee. I'd be pretty bold to say 95% will hit 1Ghz

MSI looks so boring to me. Asus is so sexy. Wish they would have used the 3 slot cooler on it

The Gigabyte 560 SOC is still on backorder at TigerDirect. I have didn't want to buy from Newegg because of sales tax. I ended up ordering the MSI 570 from Amazon and I will be able to put together my rig this weekend. :)

I notice that the PNY 570 is currently $335, no rebates. But I read about some QC problems in a couple of reviews on Newegg. Either way, I like buying from Amazon for their excellent return policy if there happen to be any issues.

You are right ronn, there's lot of cluttered cards that performs the same.

GTX 560
HD5870
HD6870
GTX470
GTX465

The list is getting long, probably is because the current higher end offerings aren't impressive.

If some company offered an unlocked 6950 then they would call and sell it as a 6970.

I already have my Twin Frozr 560 installed. I don't have any good benchmarking games installed, and waiting on the SSD which shipped separately though, so I'm not going to waste time installing them only to reinstall them later tonight when it gets here.

So, with no good games installed at present, all I can say is every time I look at GPU-Z, it's reading 32 degrees C.

What is this Gigabyte GTX 560Ti SOC everyone is talking about? The only Gigabyte card I have been able to find in stock anywhere is this:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...-363-_-Product

Even this seems to be the highest factory overclocked card you can find. Clocked higher than both the Galaxy and MSI versions.

A GTX 560 Ti overclocked to 900MHz would be more of a match for the HD 6950 than for the HD 6970 as the GTX 560 Ti at stock, tends to match more often a stock HD 6870 than outperforming it. So an overclocked version would overcome this deficit and being a better match for the HD 6950, not against the GTX 570 which is a more consistent better performer.

Got in the MSI TWIN FROZR II. Still at work. Bleh. Hopefully it lives up to expectations. If so then I'll have a 4850 for sale soon. :)
