Go for body shots, if you get a head shot kill it generally gives the jury the impression that you were out to kill in offense rather than defense. Its too bad these video games you pirate don't teach you this otherwise you are fairly clever and could probably convince the jury of your innocence.
Shows what you know. First off it's nearly impossible to hit somebody with a handgun in a stressfull unusual situation in the dark, so I'd be lucky to hit anything.. period.
Secondly this person would have to 1. break into my house 2. threaten me or my freinds. That means that there would be evidence of a break in and they would have to have some sort of deadly weapon: A knife, a crowbar, a bat, a gun. All those are equally deadly weapons in close quaters, it takes only a fraction of a second for somebody to stab you if they are within 15 feet of you, for instance.
Plus a deep stab wound is deadlier then a small pistol firearm. The loss of blood is usually what causes death, and you have a 75% chance of surviving even a serious gunshot wound.
There would be NO issue of innocence. I'd probably spend some time in jail, a couple nights. I doubt I could afford bail if they press charges, which they wouldn't. It's not my choice that somebody came into my house and attacked me, it's self-preservation.
1. I don't go looking for fights. Never have never will. (In fact I've never been in a fight in my life)
2. I don't want to hurt no one
3. I don't want to be hurt by no one.
I've had people point guns at me. I've even had a guy once offer me 400 dollars so I could show him were somebody was hiding at so that he could have a "talk" with him (just seconds after pulling a gun and threating to shoot my friend's dog if it wouldn't stop barking). (don't hang out with that "friend" anymore, btw)
Situations like that are not fun. I don't like it. I don't want to be involved in situations like that. I take great care to aviod situations like that. But sh1t happens and you have to know what is going on and be prepared.
Beleive me, I know the difference between a video game, and reality. One has no consiquences and nobody ever gets hurt and nothing bad never happens because you hit the reset button, the other one bad things happen and they are forever. Can you tell the difference?
The only reason that I mentioned something stupid like that is that guy was stupid enough to compare me getting a game I already own off of the internet with stealing a 50,000+ dollar car from somebody.
Of course once I said it, I knew somebody would be stupid enough to think he was smart enough to say something like you did.
