Looks like Rockstar has done it again. I knew they wouldn't release it until they had perfected it. They don't rush anything to get to a deadline like most gaming companies. GTA4 is going to be crazy good.

Yes, the 360 will have exclusive episodic content.

Dude, I read it too and there was no need for them to give an arbitrary score.

You just need to read it and the last paragraph basically sums it all up.
Sandbox-style, ultra-violent games like Grand Theft Auto aren't typically my thing, but GTA IV has made me a fan. A fanboy. Rockstar North has addressed virtually every single one of my personal hang ups about the series, crafting one of the most memorable experiences in gaming. We hate to gush, but it's just that good. Flawless? No. But it's about as close to a game can come to being perfect.

I pre-ordered from Amazon.com and my copy has already shipped!

My PS3 copy from Family Videos shipped on Friday :D

Seems like PS3 version suffers less than 360 with pop-ins and such, from Kotaku:

Pop-In & Loading
With a huge, seamless streaming world, data must be constantly read from the disc. The PS3 version, with its required HDD install, loads missions a couple seconds faster and decreases pop-in. The Xbox 360 version can suffer from some very noticeable texture loading, as things like trees, vehicles and building signs will regularly pop-in as one tools about town. It can be distracting, especially during high speed chases, and the PS3 version isn't entirely immune from it, but it's not a game killing problem.

Actually not just Kotaku, I have read similar items in reviews across all the major review sites.

Who cares about pop-ins and loading when you can have extra content that nobody knows about yet! But seriously, I would hate to see pop-ins on a future gen console game.

After playing mass effect I think i've developed a very big patience for texture popin.

I just watched the video head-to-head on IGN insider between the PS3 and 360, and they basically said that you're choice of which one to buy for simply comes down to which system your friends are buying it for. I guess they didn't really find a clear winner graphically between the two versions, each had their pluses and minuses.

I don't care if the 360 does have a little bit of texture pop-in and slightly longer loading times, achievement and Live easily trump what PS3 offers (or the lack thereof).

It's a little bit more texture pop-in than the PS3 version. There is pop-in the PS3 version as well.

IGN just put up a crap load of new gameplay videos:

http://media.xbox360.ign.com/m...827/827005/vids_1.html

i watched a few and they look awesome. PS3 and 360 versions available. only thing i've noticed so far is that in the Getaway Jump video it seemed like every vehicle on the screen was the exact same one as the players. i know its been like this before, but it never seemed this bad. even parked cars were the same.

WOW....after watching the IGN video about the ladies of liberty city, I don't know how they were able to get away with just an M rating. The stuff that is protrayed and said is MUCH worse than the hot coffee mod, only you don't control the action.

Should be interesting to see what the politicians have to say about it.

Bluray are slow, dont kid yourself. When your HD starts filling up and youre *required* to sit through an install just to play a game you havent played in a while, you'll be less than happy. I'd love the *option* to install it on my 360, but I'll take slower load times over a forced install.

Thats it, I'm totally taking tuesday off. I've never seen animation in a game like this before, and the way they captured NYC is incredible. Just amazing...they couldnt have possibly done any better in that respect. I can only hope that the DLC extends the map into staten island, yonkers or nassau.

Its killing me to see people on my friends list already playing it on their modded 360s. :(

I can't wait until it comes out so everyone can shut up about which version is better and quit justifying their purchases and putting their smug into my atmosphere and just play the flippin game and be happy!

DLC, load times, hard drives, pop in, online! Who the eff cares? It's not like owning one version of the game is going to make anyone a better individual. The more people rub these so called "features" in the other teams face the more people look ridiculous. Because in reality these "features" are minute, and once the game is released no one will hear anything more about it!

If you dont think we'll still be hearing about it after its released, this must be your first time in a game thread.
