I'm beyond frustrated with Spec-B. I have a car with double the horsepower and less weight than practically anyone in the field and yet my driver just sticks to the bumper of the car in front of him and refuses to pass. Besides running the completed races over and over, the game is basically over for me. This is disappointing.

Try slowing him down and then speeding him up right before a straightaway so he has room to pass. You might also find that your driver is faster than the others at certain points on the track, take advantage of those areas. There is more to b-spec than just having more power and a high-lvl driver, there really is some strategy involved...

Nothing, i just dont like the car. lol :hmm: My friend has it now so he'll send it to you... his psn is takoyaki_gsxr.

Thanks. I went home last night and fired it up, and I had forgotten I had already bought the car and beat that race. For some reason, I thought I hadn't. That last set of bonus races were far too easy. I'm a horrible driver and I beat all of them easily. Too easily.

Yup, it's much more difficult that people think it should be. There is tons of strategy involved and you pretty much need to sit there the whole race to make sure your driver wins because even if you're super far ahead, he'll slow down enough that it'll let the other cars catch up.

What is funny. I ran the race a second time and by the first turn, he passed 7 cars and I never had to look back. The only upside to these snows days are being able to work and do the spec-b races.

Spec-b is a riot. I was doing the Top Gear Test Track and was winning by 30+ seconds on the final lap. My guy was hit by another car at the cross-over section. Instead of getting back on course and finishing, he decides to follow the other cars and jumps back to 10th place.

Sounds retarded.

My son, 5 yrs old, loves playing Forza, and it's easy for him because of the auto-breaking and rewinds available in Forza 3. Is there anything like that in GT5?

I'm down for that ... it'll be better than the rooms full of dbags i was in last night. D:

I know what you mean. I'm in a weekly racing series on Sunday evenings, pretty good bunch of guy and none of us are all that good, so we have fun.

Maybe we can do something on here once a week. I'd like to see some weekly races running something like the GT300 cars, they are fast enough to be fun but still easy enough to drive that we don't have to be experts to handle them. Mabey I'll start a thread and see if there is any interest.

There really isn't anything like that in GT5, unless it's in the arcade section, I've never looked in there.

Boy AI really is as stupid as ever, they really need to fix that stuff one way or another. Wish there were more racing events, looks like they just copied GT4 to me. My SKYLINE Coupe is useless outside of 2 events.

Now that i got my hands on a copy full time, i'm honestly a bit disappointed. All the new features are nice, but damn, they just left the mistakes from previous version right there.

How did you get your head stuck up in there anyway?

I have to say so far the most fun I have had with this game has been the first two bonus events (before they removed the restrictions) and the AMG academy last race in each series. I admit that when I am playing A-Spec I make sure that my car is basically a ringer, it always has enough power to win and make a come back if I spin out. Having a diverse field, and the restrictions in place for the bonus racing. Wow, that was fun and challanging. If it were up to me, you would beat a series (i.e. Expert, Extreme) and it would reset that field in a higher difficulty, perhaps with more power/weight restrictions. You could do an easy/medium/hard, which would also make the game longer, since I was complete the ASpec races in a couple weeks of evening racing anyway.

They need to do something to make sure that this game is relevant until they release the next one. Especially if it is going to be another half decade.

Yeah it's pretty lame how they let you bring such an overpowered car to many of the races... Kills all the balance. The opponents should have similar cars when you do that.

i wondered why the AI was stuck with cars of certain specs. I love my ferrari 458 and use it every race i can...but its fully tuned. Some the euro expert series i won each race by at least 15 seconds. I guess it owuld be hard to adjust as i know just adding tons of HP to an ai's car wouldnt always make them quicker (in theory it would)

o well though still have had some challenging races!

Has anyone completed an Endurance race? Some are 24 hours and I don't see how you can do that unless you put in many hours over a few days. Unless I missed where you can speed up the race by using one of your drivers also.

A few days? It would take me a week at best. Between works, kids, and the wife there's no way I could spend three hours a day racing that thing. Not to mention I would be bored out of my mind.

Just picked up the Formula Gran Turismo car from the online used car store and it rocks. Finally found a vehicle that my idiot spec-b drivers can win with every time.

nice i was about to buy that for the expert series anyways. Think i might try to grind out my b-spec guy a bit today....he is only level 5 lol

Ive done the first few (all under 3 or 4 hours I think)

They were actually quite fun. I just focused on constantly improving my laptimes as much as possible.

Why wouldn't you do the Rally's? They are by far the easiest of the special events. I just did the Advanced lvl 20 one with a lancer Evo rally car. Beat the dirt by a minute and a half, the snow by over 2 minutes (the AI is absolutely horrible in the snow), and the tarmac by 1:15. Total won was just under $600k and 45k XP.

I tried the beginner one in a Lancia Delta Integrale, I kept losing the third event on dirt. Tips?

I would have thought a 4WD would have stuffed the Focus ST and Mini... 🙁
