The new seasonal event that just came out tonight is easy mode... no tuning restrictions. lol More credits than the first two also... :awe:

Wow, that's awesome news. The first ones paid really well and was easy to get at least 3rd in all of them. Remove tuning restrictions is easy mode.

Removing the restrictions sucks. At least the first ones were a challenge and you felt accomplishment for getting gold. The new ones can all be won on first try.

I love playing this game... but there are so many things wrong with it for something that took over 6 years to make.

A possible solution is - play the game with a minimal install and update, then tell it to do a full install while you sleep... that's what I did when a mate got it and we wanted to play 🙂

Agreed, I feel like i'm almost done with the game. I haven't done many of the special events of licenses, but I don't have much desire to do them either. I'm almost done with Extreme in a and b-spec. After that it's just collecting cars.

I stopped playing A spec... hell my B spec is still 0. I just race people online all day on the nurburgring... very fun stuff. You come across a few douchebags who start driving backwards on the track but other than that it's been awesome racing.

Well they also removed restrictions on the Bonus 2 races. Which is kind of stupid. I dont get why they couldnt have Gone with the tighter tune so its hard to get gold. Then like today (with one week to go) raise the tune limits up a bit. In the challenger race i was only 2-3 seconds off gold so another say 20 hp would have probably done it for me. Leats thats what i wish they would have done instead of just going o hey fgo use a 700hp RX-7 against all the 400hp ones....

yep i bumped up my challenger with ~ 30 more hp and finally won the race. Only by like 2 seconds and it was still a bit of a challenge for me. Im definitely not a very good driver but i felt that was enough of a boost to make it easier yet still fun for me. Then i tried the focus and went all out...full upgrades.. and won by like 10 seconds. Thats with me bouncing off the walls and overall poor driving. Point is.. i dunno just a rant more than anything 🙂


Whell gets here on monday though, kinda excited for that!

Awesome... I think you'll improve with the wheel after you get used to using it. I have one for the pc, it's an old Logitech MOMO, good wheel, just don't have a way to mount it on anything in the living room.

The last race in the new bonus races is actually pretty good. I bought the rally car and didn't do anything to it, best I could do was 3rd place about 5sec from the lead with the stock sports medium tires that came on it. I finally bought a set of sports soft and after about 5 tries I manged to win by .485 sec.

Yeha my problem with the controller is i just cant be smooth enough with the thumb stick for turning. So im pretty jerky, compared to watching youtube videos of races at least. Same with braking i dont do well applying like just half brake or half throttle. So im hoping pedals will help there. And if not o well itll still be more fun to play!

I've won more A-spec races with that ZR1 RM than any other car I own, I also used the '69 Camaro RM to win the historic car event.

There is nothing wrong with playing gt5 without a wheel, I have a wheel but only use it for racing sims.
 
Phew...just finished getting bronzes in all the Vettel X2010 challenges...with a DS3. Such a rush but a pain in the ass at the same time. Definitely the hardest set of challenges in the game, by far...trust me--I've got golds in all the licenses and all the other special events.

The X2010 is insane (and insanely fun) to drive though. My B-Spec Bob's are gonna love it too. Mwhahaha.

Well I couldn't get better than 9th on the Mustang GT or the RX7 one. Now with the restrictions off, I just upped the power and bought soft race tires and crashed my way into easy 1st on all of them. 😀 Now I finally have over 2 million so I can start buying some cars I want like the ZR1 and 458.

I recommend the Citron (sp) C4 WRC race as well. its an expensive car to buy (70k?) but upgrade it and do the bonus race with it and youll win a cool 1.5mil credits. I upgraded and ran the race once and won. Not a bad way to earn back the car price plus some cash.
 
Stupid question, but what's the point of licenses. I have won almost all the races in A-spec mode and haven't seen any license restrictions. Is there something I'm missing? The game just feels shallow now and I'm not about to watch someone drive a car to beat B-spec.

Just to complete more of the game. You get more XP which gets you more cars and completing licenses gets you cars as well.
