Queues should be at least somewhat improved by people participating in the random dungeon "daily" (is it a daily or repeatable? no idea) if nothing else I would think.

Yeah I could see it now. 50 DL PLD pops into satasha and proceeds to "speed run" the dungeon, yells at the new people for not knowing anything and then dropping the dungeon.

lol Can't be helped 😀, people are people.

I don't disagree that people will take the easier path. SE's attempts will be better than what we have now I think, as dark says, but we'll just have to see if it's effective or not. I'm sure they'll have to tweak it some more.

You missed my point about spamming dungeons though...in that case "spammability" wouldn't be the problem per se, but rather the exp rate difference for those with short queue times vs long queue times. A decent exp rate for those waiting DPS turns into a laughably fast exp rate for people who don't have to wait. There's other ways to approach the problem, that's all I was getting at.

The problem is there's no "solution" for queues other than getting more tanks and healers in there. While I think square's taking a good approach in offering incentives for people to do these, but they're not necessarily going to be the route people take as power-gamers will gravitate towards whatever is easier. And let's face it, no matter what they do, it'll be difficult to beat sub 15 minute WP runs for tomes (if that's the incentive) or facerolling fates.

Perhaps let summoners who have titan be "tanks"...? Or let BLMs/SMNs with Physik be main healers...? I mean, a 4 SMN party is perfectly viable... but that sort of variance is impossible to accept for a duty finder.

I personally really look forward to dungeons and don't mind it being slower than fates, but it's just disappointing to see your exp bar less than halfway full when you finish a dungeon that took 45 minutes to run through.

Yeah the tome bonus would have to be rather attractive.

I'd love to have those sort of party options, and I wish titan-egi could hold hate a little better. SE's mentioned they eventually plan to give arcanists the ability to choose to queue as DD or healer...so hopefully we'll eventually have some choices like that.

Personally I'm looking forward to the random queue. I'm hoping doing it once per day will roughly equate to reaching your myth tome cap (though since the cap is being raised that may be unlikely) but I'm more interested in just getting to do something different at this point, not really concerned with how efficient it works out to be.

I like to run my WPs and get them done by tuesday so I can do other stuff in game the rest of the week, like leveling and crafting and doing random shit with FC mates. If i can get my cap in 2 hours I'll do it; myth cap is a grind and I don't want to do it longer than I have to.

more 2.1 stuff... CT lockout sucks since you can only lot ONE piece of loot.

Just some excerpts:

- Primal Extreme mode loot and Crystal Tower loot will have a 1 week lockout. You have to beat all three EM Primals to loot one item.
- Dungeon EXP increased by 150% from base EXP. On top of that you can put random roulette bonus + rest bonus. About 3x more than now.
- Treasure Hunt - When you try to open chest there is a trap spawning mobs. Can be soloed, however Grade 5 should have PT to win fight.
- Treasure Hunt - Gatherer finds map, but only battle class can open since it spawns mobs.
- Beastmen daily quest - In patch 2.1 will have quest for 2 beastmen tribes, in future will have episodes for all tribes.
- YoshiP mentions they are going to have FFXIV up on Steam
- Patch 2.2 will have about 1.5 times more than 2.1's amount of story
- YoshiP explains in future HM and EM primal battles coming and gives example for 2.2 will have HM/EM Leviathan.
- PvP will have rank - At 2.1 you can rank up to 30.
- YoshiP mentions every patch will have 2 HM dungeons and 1 completely new dungeon. Post expansion will have harder dungeon than BC.
- YoshiP mentions the cost for housing is still not decided, they are still looking at the economy to decide carefully.
- Once you place a furniture in your house, you can't sell them on market. (im hoping a preview system will be in place too)
- Primal EM - Aside from ilvl90 weapon reward, Primals drop chest which has high level accessories. (!!)

Months later, people still can't dodge shit. It's sad to see relic +1 people that can't dodge very basic things like plumes on titan. Was helping out some LS mates and me and one other DPS (raid leader) are the only DPS alive for 4 whole tries. Ended up killing him the 5th time after the other 3 dps managed to not die early on in the last phase. Had a relic +1 drg that manages to die on the plumes almost every time, +1 mnk that does the same soon after and the other BLM (that we were doing the run for) is... well, has 2k hp so I didn't expect too much from him. He died a lot too. The PLD disconnected once when titan had 5% health (wipeD), fell off the stage once, and ate 3 bombs and a mountain buster once.

These are the people I will pug crystal tower with because square can't implement a 24 man raid. /sigh

Yeah, I should probably at least do the daily on my scholar, seems a good way to level consistently without devoting a bunch of time all at once.

Yeah a low level roulette like copperbell can be done in 30 minutes. This is way faster than fates at higher levels. Need to see how much exp the mobs give though, and how much exp the higher level dungeons like stone vigil gives.

I logged on to work on unlocking crystal tower before I headed to work. I didn't expect it to be instantaneous, but imagine the disappointment to find the quest requires completing fates in the beastman strongholds that some people have waited 2 hours for a single fate...for. Sigh.

Maybe folks will have the spawn times nailed down by the time I'm off work. Having quests tied to fates blows. You can't go off and do something else unless you know exactly when it's going to show up...you have to sit there and wait for it. And if there are others around, you probably have to be in a fate group so you can get an acceptable evaluation.

I probably picked the most annoying part of the new content to try first lol.

I'd probably try to unlock CT and extreme primals first as well so I can get my weekly CT loot. I imagine the craze to die down in 2-3 days and the boss fates to spawn a bit more reliably.

I'd like to see the CT myth confirmed though. That's taken from 1 guy's comment "my friend did it and said it gave 50 myth." Then another poster said "50 per boss I assume?" Then the guy added that to his OP.

ps: They're fixing the bug with the fate boss for CT quest not spawning on the 19th. Do some extreme primals instead before then.

Ran a roulette tonight. Received 300 Phil tomes 🙂.

But I did notice some frame rate issues. Probably nothing but is anyone else having new performance related problems?

The tank I grouped with tonight said it seemed like his UI was laggy or something. I noticed a little bit also. Not sue if it was lag or frame rate.

We tried the new AK (cause it's easier now) and WP, then did copperbell HM, which was fun. We wiped 2+ times to each boss til we figured out the fights in that one 😀.
