I don't have to worry anymore, the movie is going to be one of the best moments of my life thus far and I don't have anymore doubt. :Q

There is also 5 clips available for viewing there but I'm not touching them. Trailers and that special on FOX a while ago are as far as I'm going to spoil it.

I had that one in a couple of months ago😀 It's my favorite movie of all-time. Though that may change in a couple of weeks.
 
Oh, I recently read first review in a finnish magazine. 4/4 stars!! Some highlights:

"This years second fantasy-film is also really long, but not nearly as tedious as Harry Potter is..."

"Special effects of LOTR could be used for thousand Potters"

"This movie is a joy for the eyes, magnificent adaptation of a classic that is one of the greatest achievements in the world of literature"

Good God, it's going to dominate :Q!

And I have heard that the person who translated LOTR (the book) in to finnish, has been actively advising the translators of the movie. That is good news because the finnish translation of The Book is of EXTREMELY high quality!

There is a theater in my area with digital projection and I was wondering if there would be an advantage to seeing the movie there. I know at one point the film was stored on hard drives while they worked on the special effects but I'm guessing it is all film now. Does anyone know if LOTR is digital??

We will be leaving the theater at 3:00 am. Great. Of course, if they decide to run the movie again at 3:30, we might just stay...

There were four of us that I knew I could count on, so I bought 10 - now I need to buy 10 more, because I already ran out of slots!

I'm NOT going to read any reviews because reading them is a real torture... I just want to see the movie... ah, the suffering... 🙁
 
I am more than halfway through The Fellowship Of The Ring. I had forgotten what a good book it was. I still wish that they had made The Hobbit into a movie first.
 
I loved reading some of the children's reviews that have come out recently. I've seen 4 or 5 of them now by 10 or 11-year olds and they all agree that LOTR kicks a$$. One kid even lowered his rating for Harry Potter from 10/10 to 5/10. LOL 😀

If LOTR can pull in some money from the younger demographics that would be great.
 
stupid moviefone, it says that the showtimes are available, but when i click to buy it says that they are temporarily unavailabe to sell tickets to that theatre, what the hell does that mean, i'm about to go ape sh!t
 
So close...oooooooooooh so close. In two days I'll be (hopefully) meeting Peter Jackson (thread) and then 4 days after that I see the movie...........AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm going nuts here boys

<< Critics rate the first Lord Of The Rings movie "hotter than Potter."

The Fellowship Of The Ring gained rave reviews after its world premiere in London.

And the critics are saying it is even better than Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone.

Daily Express showbusiness correspondent Mark Jagasia said: "Harry Potter, prepare to fall on your broomstick."

The Sun's film critic Neil Roberts said: "Sorry Harry, but I've just seen a movie that runs Rings around you."

And the Daily Mail's Christopher Tookey warned: "Critics who gave five-star ratings to Chris Columbus's competent but uninspired Harry Potter movie are going to have to find ten if they are to do justice to The Fellowship of the Ring."

The Fellowship Of The Ring is the first instalment in the trilogy of books written by JRR Tolkien which have been adapted for the big screen.

Filming took place over 15 months in New Zealand, with all three films shot at the same time to save the hassle and expense of rebuilding the lavish sets.

The film opens in UK cinemas on December 19.

I hope the movie appeals to kids more than people think it will...i really want to see FOTR do well at the box office because more money will be pumped into the special effects budget of TTT and ROTK.
 
There is a ton of hype lately, the cast is all over TV talk shows etc.

It's a good thing, 'cause that will help it make more money. I think New Line is going to have a very Merry Christmas... 😀
 
If anyone is still looking for LOTR reviews I found what has to be the best LOTR Review Index around. It seems pretty exhaustive and is updated pretty regularly. Personally I am just waiting to hear from the U.S. critics.
 
I just heard some comments in a finnish Tolkien-newsgroup. Apparently, there was a screening here just a while ago. One of the lucky ones who managed to go see it was a guy who loves movies, is a big Tolkien-fan and generally skeptical to the LOTR-movie (because of the changes when compared to the book). In his words, the movie "is as awesome as a movie about such a great book can be!". He was blown away!
