The word "fanboys" in this thread's title should be enough of a clue......

excellent excellent film!

I agree wholeheartedly.

Though I was dissapointed. They ruined many of the storypoints that I really liked in the books, most notably with Faramir.

I just gotta stop getting my hopes up that Hollywood will some day make a perfect movie 🙁

But still, a great movie. To me it just wasnt Lord Of The Rings. It was Guy Of The Rings.

They changed a lot of things, but a lot of them were understandable. Certain parts were unecessary hollywood embellishement, like aragorns little accident, but they HAD to change faramir.

How cool was gollum though?!

Eomire, Faramir, Rohan, Gondor, all so damn complicated.
I have the book version confused and the movie story confused, and then them both mixed together.
Where is a synopsys?

why the hell did they do that to faramir

he was supposed to be anti-boromir, help the hobbits out and send them along.

it makes no sense to me

the change is silly

The only thing I did not like about the movie was the nazgul.

In the books they are more like crow type creatures. Not dragons they looked dumb and cheesy the nazgul are supposed to strike fear just by hearing their call, but these were just lame. The ringwraiths on the nazgul are supposed to be BADASSES, far far from it in this movie. This is the only thing I have actually disliked about the movies so far.

Ummmm, the Ringwraiths are the Nazgul. The flying thing that they ride on are not the Nazgul. If I remember correctly, they are just referred as "flying beasts" (May not be correct, I have the finnish translation of the book). And they are not crow-like. They don't have feathers or anything like that.

If I remember correctly Aragorn called them nazgul when he found out they were riding on the beasts? I think your right the things they ride on aren't called nazgul but they are referred to them as that when they are flying.

I don't think you can compare any of the three parts of LOTR and say one is better than the other. To me, I see LOTR as one big movie, just convieniently split into three parts. The second part picks up right where the other left off, and I assume the third will do the same. THis is not like Starwars where years will pass in between episodes. Anyways, this movie definitely does not have the magic the first one had. I remember watching Fellowship of the Ring and saying to myself that this was the best movie I had ever seen. I didn't feel that with this movie, but that's not a bad thing. I think this part really shows the power of Sauron and the ring and its effects on the characters. Apparently people didn't like how Faramir was portrayed, I haven't read the book so I can't really comment but I did think his behavior was a bit odd.
