In Fable 2 you could just adjust the internal clock on the 360 and get free rent money.

no more offline money anymore either.

but I stumbled upon the Sunset House demon door. you can only enter is wearing the crown and the chest behind it contains 1,000,000 gold. I can only assume it's intentionally there to help pay for the war. I used it to buy all the houses in Millicreek and set the rent to high (fuck those rich bastards)

I don't have a problem with money whatsoever being good, I just buy everything I can as I go... I almost own every house/business in albion now, I make 65k Gold every 5 minutes... and When it comes down to when I do get a little short(or im not progressing with the treasury like I should) I go do side quests until I make 1 mil gold from my rent, then I go throw it in the treasury. I have made every good decision spending the max amount of money out of the treasury I can.

Down to the last 100 days until the attack and I have 4.5 mil in the treasury and 1 mil on personal account and I don't think It's that hard TBH.

I wasn't playing the real estate game until after becoming king because I wasn't aware that I'd need mammoth quantities of gold and hadn't seen anything in the shops worth buying... so I hit the revolution with like 5,000 gold in my pocket and 400,000 in debt in the treasury.

overall, I'm super disappointed in how short the game was. I finished the thing in 3 days and the last half of the story felt really, really rushed. there's still shit to do, but I was never one for running around collecting keys. maybe I'll return to it in a couple months when I get bored, but for now, I'm probably just going to lend the game to my sister and go back to playing Mass Effect 2.

Lol, I was waiting to get the total amount needed so I had all the money in my personal account and started the final battle with 0 money in the treasury. Goodbye 6.5 million people!

Lame that they didn't give you a warning or one last shot to get the cash type thing. Make sure you have the money in the treasury before ruling on Mistpeak.

Just picked up this game today, along with a new 360 Slim 4GB.

I haven't really done much exploring, just doing the quests and side quests as I go along. I just finished the quest in Mourningwood, with the crap load of hallowmen.

Reading what you guys have said, I feel like I'm missing something. Or is it that I'm just not far enough along yet?

I finished the game last night.

I'm upset at how ridiculously easy and short the game is. Ok, I barely did any of the side quests, and the castle was in debt 700k when I went into battle but I still beat it really easily.

After I beat it, it congratulated me for beating the darkness, but said that everyone will remember that I destroyed a kingdom. Oh well.

Time to play again and actually do everything.

Last night I finally reached the point in the game where I you the ruler of the kingdom. I had braced myself for disappointment, and this was for several reasons: When I saw the game at E3 suspiciously abscent was the king portion of the game, when I interviewed Peter Molyneux I specifically asked him about the ruling act and he winced siting spoilers (or is it?), reviewers were down on it and finally people whos opinions I usually align with were pretty down on it.

After playing about an hour into it last night I am finding myself having a blast. It's unlike anything I've played in a game, and it still somehow manages to still feel like Fable 3. I love the daily schedule and making all the important decisions those entail. I think (so far) it's a nice change of pace to the whole game.

Hope it pans out...

I think at this point it's all more interesting than it is fun (but it's still fun to a certain degree!)

I'm going to play through it again from the beginning and try and finish all the side quests before setting sail to Aurora.

After that if I feel up to it, I'll go through again as an evil character, because being evil in the Fable series is always IMO much more fun.

Did anyone preorder from Amazon and get the champion hammer/balance tattoo to work?

I got my code, registered it/dled it, and I have no idea where or how to get the in-game items to show up in my sanctuary.

I'm at the part of the game where I just defeated the merc leader guy (beginning of the game).

Edit: ok, had to start the next leg of the quests and the gifts showed up.

You get them for your gifts area in the sanctuary.

BTW if you do use the codes can you get those weapons and tatoos on each character you play so say can you trade them? I preordered through gamestop so I got the inquisitor sword which sucks since I only like to play good characters. Anyone got a spare channeling sword?

I've started to play this game more and more and am enjoying it a lot more than I did initially.

I still feel like the graphics are a bit unpolished even though they are supposed to be a step up from Fable 2. Also, the game still has a few glitches, but I'm hopeful that future patches will improve game play.

Anyway, once I got used to how questing worked along with the living map and warping, things started to get interesting. I'm in the process of buying as much property as I can so as to accumulate as much wealth as possible.

Question: Is there a way to repair all homes? It's a pain when you have to individually repair each housing property.

Finally broke this out of the shrink wrap this weekend. It feels virtually identical to Fable 2 but streamlined, although I'm not sure if this is good or not. The individual characteristics of villagers seem even more unimportant than they did in Fable 2, when all you need to do to make friends (or better) is to frequently hold down the A button. The use of guild seals rather than orbs for levelling skills means that you don't have to improve the skills that you actually use in combat (although if you're using your sword all the time, would you really concentrate on magic?).

That said, I still like the basic mechanics of the game: lots of exploring, lots of item collecting and hunting (where in the Sanctuary is the list of items -- potions, gifts, etc. -- that you've found? I looked around but don't seem to have found the right spot in the right room yet), some truly entertaining quests (e.g. The Game), and I still find the hybrid melee/ranged/magic combat system entertaining, although switching between attack types does not seem to be quite as smooth as I recall.

The weapon upgrade system isn't quite as dynamic as I'd assumed it would be, but at least it's an interesting embedded mini-achievement system with some associated powerups. And I do like my runed, glowy sword.

That's a negative. You must visit each house and repair them, but at least you can do it via the map and not have to run up to each house.

My advice is to repair each house and then sell it. The businesses are the best buys because there is no upkeep at all.

the only houses I found to be worth it were those 3 super expensive ones outside of Reaver's Mansion (I forget the zone name... Millifriends?). they're collectively about 30K rent money and easy enough to repair since it's 1 zone and they're all right next to eachother.

Oh good idea. thanks for the tip!

This is something I'm still trying to figure out myself. I wonder if there is a way to bring up a list of items you have: gems, furniture, books, etc.

I know if you go to like a pawnshop, you can view pretty much all your items which you can sell.

Also, i wish the achievement progress pop-up would give more info or stay up longer. A lot of times when I'm doing whatever, I'll get a progress update for a specific achievement and by the time I can look/read what it's for, it disappears. Just a small annoyance really.

These are also some of my biggest complaints about this game.

There is no way to check inventory, other than going to one of the pawn shops and going through your stuff.

The achievement progress is another horrible - The book, flower quests are all horrible in this regard. At least with the gnome and key quests, you can see progress on the sanctuary/castle map.

Beat the game couple days ago and began working on collecting everything.

I've got all 50 silver keys, 4 gold keys, and 50 gnomes completed.

Only 21/30 for flowers, and 10/30 for books. I'm not sure if I want to find the rest. But overall the game was pretty decent. I probably should sell the game while it is still worth something.

Does anyone have all the weapons? I'm missing a few, and could use the help.

I'm know missing the scissors, and Jack's hammer. I'll have to wait until after work to look up the others.

Oh man I cannot imagine getting all the weapons in this game. I don't recall the specifics but I do remember looking up all the weapons when I first got the game and it seemed some were pretty hard to get--like ridiculously so. Are you finding this to be the case?

For me the best weapon I got was the pistol from
chest in the treasure room.
It was cool and sort of scratched that itch to get an awesome weapon, but looking back I'm just not a fan of the way the legendary weapons were handled.
