I predict McCain to take an early lead from Indiana and Kentucky. For all the talk of Obama getting the vote out, the precincts that vote in my polling place were above and beyond levels ever seen before... and we are a very conservative area. I think Indiana will stay red, we already know Kentucky will, and that will be the only lead McCain has all night. 🙂 Then again, I am also willing to bet that the networks wait until some blue states come in to start calling anything just so they can say Obama led all night long. I wouldnt put it past them. It doesnt change the outcome necessarily, but it IS what the media does.

McCain is toast... I have made my peace with that. I will now have to rally around President Obama and support him where I can. It is one thing to scrap during the election, but the office of the President is one to be respected regardless of who is in it, and as a citizen, one has a duty to support their leaders in any respect they can.

Not in MY AMERICA. In My America we support our leaders when they are right and criticize them when they are wrong.
In My America we show solidarity with our leaders when they are dealing with other countries in a crisis when we can. When the crisis is over we have a duty to our country to either support or citicize our leaders depending on our conscience.

I think you are reading support for blind obedience. I will support Obama... as best I can. On day 1 in office he has my support. What he DOES with that support is an entirely different scenario. He may lose my support, but on day 1, he has it.

I can almost guarantee that I will criticize him. I have criticized every President I have had, the ones I did and didnt vote for (at least as long as I have been voting). It doesnt mean I dont support them when and where I can.

hehe. No problem. I was just exercising my god given right as an American to take anything I want literally:laugh:

just got back from voting. I voted NO on every single tax increase that was on the ballot, between the state, county and town there were 8 fricken tax increases. WTF!

Permanent Democratic Majority. I like the sound of that.

Yeah, that'll do wonders for the concept of democracy... I weep for the future of the country with idiotic thoughts like that going around. One-sided government is never good, no matter which side.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
EARLY EXIT POLL RESULTS WILL BE RELEASED AT 5 P.M.

Just heard it on CNN and also found this link that gives info on why they were not available sooner. It's from a BLOG on pollster.com

http://www.pollster.com/blogs/exit_polls/
Following the 2004 election, when partial and misleading results leaked out at mid day, the network consortium that conducts the exit polls decided to restrict access to a small number of analysts in a "quarantine room" for most of the day. During the primaries this year, and presumably tonight as well, they release their results and vote estimates to producers and reporters at the television networks and other subscriber organizations about about 5:00 p.m. eastern time. While some of that information will no doubt leak after 5:00 p.m, anything you see before that time claiming to be an "exit poll" is probably bogus and certainly not part of the official network exit poll apparatus

Agreed. The problem is I have yet to find one platform stance of his that I agree with, well....I did hear last night that he is in favor of a college football playoff system. I'm with him on that!

But you are one of the lucky few. You're completely up side down on everything so all you have to do is vote opposite of your certain opinion. That way you won't screw up the world.

Thank you, oh wise master of the intrawebs.

Smart man. Those, plus the inevitable tax hikes Obama is going to nail us with would probably bankrupt you. At least you will have a little breathing room now.

Tried voting.

Was turned away due to a recent move, and couldn't even vote provisional. So much for my faith in the electoral system.

Did you move after you registered? Did you move to a different state?

I voted yes to give my town's fire-fighters more money (something like a $1K/year tax deduction for FF's who've been there for a couple years)

Don't worry, 90% of Republicans will be reversing their stance of 'you have to always support the president' very soon 😉

I voted yes on a teeny-tiny sales tax increase to help protect the wilderness. I see sales tax as the fairest tax anyway, and a 0.375% increase is very, very small.

Thanks for deciding that such an increase is small to everyone. Socialist!

Well he can lead his party to double the national deficit in 8 years and with his legislative buddies he can deregulate the banking industry leading to the greatest economic meltdown since the Great Depression.
Short answer, yes.
