And who the hell decided that GH4 should be $179.99? That is retarded!

GH IV is going to be similar to Rock Band... it will have drums and vocals. $179 is only $10 more than Rock Band.

Rumor has it there is going to be a Def Leppard Edition that has a drum kit that can be played with one arm and two feet.

OK, I just made that part up.

 That reminds me of the SNL VH1: Behind the Music spoof where Chris Parnell pretends to be Rick Allen, but clearly has a second arm sticking out from under his shirt holding another drumstick. If only I could link to a clip...

A good portion of the reason why the Wii is so wildly successful is because of price. Until MS gets the 360 with the HDD to $250 or less, they are going to be missing out because casual gamers are not going to spend $300+ for a SingStar clone and Avatars.

They just need to fix the reliability issue to get me to buy. How many years has it been?

For the love of G-d, THEY ARE FIXED! Every bit of evidence on the Internet indicates that Falcons are just as reliable as the PS3 or Wii - none of which are perfect.

Seriously, when are people going to update their mental models for this new information?

I cannot wait till Forza 3 to come out. Big simulation racing fan here...although I still need to finish Forza 2 (because I just got my Xbox 360 two days ago).

What gets me is that people will have waited far longer than if they had bought a 360 from the get-go and even had to go through a few RRoDs. I suppose that doesn't matter if the 360 is not a must-have, but it's still a bit ironic.

Even one RRoD is unacceptable to me. Thought of being ok with multiple RRoDs blows my mind.

I can easily afford one. I've bought just about every consoles and handhelds released in the past 20 years. I just refuse to buy 360 until they get this right.

PS3 BR-D drives are infamous for failing at this point. Wiis were bricking on update right out of the gate. I really don't think you're properly evaluating the risk of an RRoD versus the other stuff that can happen.

They've got it right now, at least as much as anyone else gets it right.

Super Secret Super Source says No to Forza 3 having 2 discs.

About a week ago, Xbox 360 Fanboy reported info regarding the next Forza Motorsport - thanks to a leaked survey from Intellisponse - and that the acclaimed racing series could possibly be shipped on 2 Dual-Layered DVDs - thanks to the bevy of new stuff likely being added (400 cars! 100 tracks! Driving Assist!). Well, one of our sources ? thanks to a bit of snooping around Dhruva Interactive ? claims that this may not necessarily happen in the long run.

Dhruva Interactive is an Indian game development company based in Bangalore. They?ve worked on 3D assets for more than a handful of big name projects, one of their prime specialties being in the racing genre. In fact, Dhruva has done work on both existing Forza titles, as well as Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4. According to our inside-man, Dhruva has already been working hard for the third entry in the series, confirming that Forza 3 is very much a reality and that we should be seeing a proper revealing of it ?fairly soon? (We?re guessing he means E3). More importantly, we questioned the possibility of Forza 3 being distributed on more than one disc. Our source was quick to comment that ?one way or the other, the core game will be shipped on a single disc. Content won?t be sacrificed? fans will be pleasantly surprised for what?s in store.? With regards to any sort of additional features or an expected release date, our man clammed up and refused to comment. Rest assured, our fists thoroughly shook in the air in protest.

Certainly would be interesting to see how this will further pan out. Now comes the long, enduring wait on Microsoft?s part. E3 2008, I choose you!

God of War 3 (translation) to be shown at E3?

Sony Computer Entertainment disclosed, throughout the Interactive event and Digital Entertainment Festival that is to elapse in Paris, that God Of War III goes to be presented in the E3.

The company did not want to give many details, but probably, no longer next month to July, we will go to know the first details and to see the first trailer of so waited game.

Relembramos that God Of War III goes to be available, for Playstation 3, only in the end of the next year.

I'd love to see something of God of War 3. I'm expecting it to be announced for March of 2009, since that seems to be the time they like to release them, but I really have no earthly idea :).

I thought that the "Kratos is in Soul Calibur IV (PS3)" rumor was pretty cool. Does this mean we'll be seeing Nicole (aka, Spartan-458) in the 360 version? Better than getting Spawn, I suppose...

I'll be very surprised if that game comes to the 360 anytime soon if ever. Sony made a special edition PS3 just for that one game and invested all kinds of money into marketing it. Its also one of the games that would have to be multi disc with all of the cutscene content on it.

note: this rumor started at 4chan and is probably not to be trusted.

I was discussing this with a buddy of mine... who actually has some cred (cant really say why, don't want to link us.. just in case). Allegedly, MS had originally considered making the dashboard a "Home" style interface, but decided that they'd rather just present what they needed to present, and focus on games instead of a Second Life world... which makes a ton of sense to me. That being said, this very well could be concept work. MS will need to respond if Home is a hit... that remains to be seen.

Sony to announce PS2 games via the PSN store at E3?

I was speaking to a friend last night on MSN who works at Sony London. I was actually asking him about the new XMB update, and if he knows when it'll be out. He told me it was scheduled to launch E3, but more interesting was his info on a new Playstation 2 Store that'll also be announced at E3 too! Basically Sonys answer to Xbox Originals. He even sent me a pic, ive uploaded it here:

I see Fantavision in the pic so it must be true. ;) Nobody would photochop Fantavision into a fake store.

20GB 360 to be dropped for 60GB 360?

A leaked scan of an upcoming K-mart ad that shows the 20GB 360 Pro model selling for $299.99 has led many to believe that the system will see a price drop at E3. I have since received an e-mail with a copy of a communication from a usually trustworthy source that claims that the price drop is not only pending, but a 60GB Xbox 360 is coming as well.

"At E3 Microsoft will make an official announcement that we are dropping the 20GB pro console to $299... As we launch the 60GB SKU throughout July, the 20GB SKU will DISCONTINUE. You will see the new SKU on your 7/1 price list," the communication reads.

As always, this is strictly rumor, but moving around the size of the hard drive in a current-generation system is hardly a new strategy. It also makes sense to release a model between the 20GB and 120GB sizes that are currently available for the 360 hardware. If the 60GB model is real, it's unknown what other changes?if any?will be coming to the system.

E3 is scheduled for July 15-17, although Microsoft will be holding its press conference on July 14, before the show itself begins.

Well, that would certainly give a little more weight to the $50 price drop...

That would suck if they pulled a Sony and discounted the 20GB, then brought in a 60GB back at the higher price. Plus, if they were to price the 60GB at $349, and the 120GB at $449, that makes the price difference even more intolerable, and that's not even thinking about the possibility of having the 60GB at $299 with no word on a price drop for the Elite.

DS resdesign?

Those picture look really fake but I've seen this rumor enough times I though it might be worth here.

A redesigned DS with bigger screens, better Wii integration (DS Channel) and onboard storagefor VC/Wiiware games could be very cool.
