I think they should have gotten Bruce Campbell to be the marine. He could have done the commercials, and been on the box.

Yea, it looks cool. I've only played CS one in my life and hated it. But who knows, maybe this will change that :p

"okay"? I'm sure it will run okay, but it also depends on your CPU speed and how much RAM you have.

Okay, well what about a 2.4 Ghz P4, 512mb Rdram, and a 128mb Radeon 9800? :p

I have a pretty good feeling that at 512 mb of ram you might be hurting a lot. I would make sure you have 1 gb for this game if you want it to run smoothly and not chop for a couple seconds every 2 min. I could be wrong, but don't be suprised if it doesn't run well at all with 512.

Man, sucks both Doom 3 and HL2 have to be released at just about the same time... I'm gonna have a hard time playing one without switching right back over to another! :D

The other part that sucks is that I have to drop over a hundred bucks at just about the same time also. Oh well... guess I don't have a problem so long as they are both out SOON! ;)

2800xp/512 ram

Yes...it will run "OK. You're bottle kneck being your videocard and then your RAM. If you upgrade to 1GB, you'll probably see a pretty big increse in load times and smoothness. Its a rather cheap upgrade.

I have a 128MB Radeon 9800 Pro, I wonder if this is enough. Far Cry seemed to stress it a little bit, very choppy anything over 1024 X 768 with all the graphics turned to highest.

Carmack is a rare breed of coder, wait and see what he's accomplished. My bet is you'll be fine.

September issue of PC Gamer contains the first review of Doom 3. They give it a 94%!

PC Gamer says:

Highs: Extraordinary graphics and sound; incredible tension, atmosphere, and mayhem.

Lows: Some stabs at humor fall a bit flat.

Bottom Line: Just as we'd hoped, it's a non-stop ride of tension, carnage and terror. A new classic.

I'd be more impressed with that 94% rating if it wasn't from the same magazine that gave Deus Ex: Invisible War an 88%. (If memory serves)
