You mean a lvl 70 Season 1 char, right? I've got multiple lvl 70's...they're just not Season 1's...

I'll start one tonight and level him up anyways.
 
Season toons can be power-leveled to 70 in about an hour. Join a season power level community, or find someone in the clan (if they can get the clan working again). My season toon could probably get you about halfway there, but it's only a T1. I just ran the season for the transmogs, and that's what I'll do in Season 2.

As for grifts, this is debatable, but I like to start low (like start a trial and immediately teleport out) and just make sure you beat each grift with less than four minutes left. This guarantees easy enemies and lets you build up your legendary gem collection faster. Loot won't be a thing in those early grifts, though.

Although if you're already T5/6, you could probably skip that. I did that method with a friend that just barely got into T1 where trial keys were a little harder to come by. I was trying to maximize his gems per trial, in essence.

I'm back to only having T4 capable builds at best, so you're at least in better shape than me.

Depends. One drop and my Sentries made me the best player ever (and I suck). They really pumped the Kridershot drop amount waaay up. Never got one before the patch, Now I have 3 including a socketed Ancient. With that I can spam Elementals for pretty high damage and earn hatred and use either cluster arrows (for Grifts) or Multishot (for bounties and reg Rifts). Between that and finally getting a Taskers I think my sentries are doing more damage than they ever did.

As for the Toughness. Not only did they change the displayed information, I have to assume they buffed up the DH base defenses to make up for a near complete lack of defensive options. I take hits that two ago would have popped my awareness. I die so little now I am thinking of dropping it. Probably a bad idea but it is tempting.

Ancient items are cool but when you already have set bonuses it is hard to justify most of them. I have 3 ancients but only one that i can use due to set pieces. My Monk has Inna's set, Sunwuko's set and half of Shenlong's set so i only have 3 open items i can put ancients into. But it will be cool when i create my season 2 char.

You can Ancient set pieces too.
 
I'm loving the changes to the SWK set; it makes playing monk much more engaging. I got very used to the clone spamming holy build, but this is much more fun and allows for so many more options.

T6 was easy, now it's just super silly. For shiggles, I ran a dual wield punchless build (lightning, WKL and FoA) with Epiphany, EP, and had enough CDR to teleport around using EP. Everything dies in the chain nearly instantly and I rarely have to stop moving to drop a bell (only if trash starved on extra health, high health elite bosses). It's hilarious.

Was getting close to completing a GRift 42 solo then I lost connection, so came back and tried 41 a couple times and kept getting bad RNG rolls on the monsters. /sigh

Still only found 1 ancient that I'm currently focused on, which wasn't much of an upgrade: Crudest Boots. Found a TKG, but the rolls weren't that great and I'm not sold on it over an EoTS for lightning.
 
So a few friends of mine bought Diablo3 + RoS during the holiday season, and are asking me to get back into the game. Before I do - I'm at work - could anyone please critique:

I haven't played in a while - back when I was playing, I remember being really frustrated that I couldn't get a good group going for greater rifts, and I was essentially wasting my time online. But now that some friends are getting into it I should be able to have a constant group (on EU servers) whenever I'm on.

Last time I played I remember some wizards looking for very high damage two-handers in order to maximize damage of certain skills - any active wizards on that are able to give me a tip for quickly getting back into this?
 
I don't wizard, but a really great place to start is to check profiles of those on the leader boards if you're aiming to progress in GRifts.
 
Played a little bit last night and got an ancient Gift of Silaria. It's actually not bad since you can re-roll the movespeed into a better 5th primary and mine came with dex/socket/aspd already on it so was able to convert it to +9% damage. Unfortunately the base damage roll on it wasn't the greatest so it's still "only" 3k dps, but it's a +27% damage upgrade from my Odyn Son which even accounting for the lightning damage lost is still going to be a solid net gain.
 
bnet seems to be throwing fits right now.

Lag spikes all over the place. It's like the PTR never happened. Broke clans, bugged achievements, and now this.
 
Logged in for about an hour last night. Got my seasonal crusader up to 18. Clan UI and stuff still seems to be fubared. Achievements I got seemed to be broadcast to the Clan but I wasn't seeing any chat and the toggle for the clan window was non responsive.

Tried to join a random public game, after going about 20 seconds at master and nothing happened, went down to expert and it opened a game with just me right away. As I was about to finish first bounty objective another same level newb joined and had a mid level wiz port in as we were finishing the third. Even though non uf us did any chatting, game was still better in a group.

I hope to get some Ancient set pieces but nothing yet.

I did finally complete the Shenlong set last night with the Fist of Legends and now I have use Sunwuko's set for the bonuses without running out of spirit. Now without dashing strike i need to play smarter so i don't get trapped and die like was happening last night.
 
Great night yesterday ...

Krider + Etrayu + gift. Not too bad! Krider rolled a but low... but at least, took only one reroll for the 10% dmg.
 
Some minor skill tweaks and a crafted ancient weapon, but at least my DH can run T6 again. It was frustrating at first, but now that I'm a bit more accustomed to the new M6, I'm liking it. I still need a spender to generator item, though. Preferably a Krider. Don't want to give up the extra sentries that the rucksack gives me.

I'm not sure if I should keep polar station for my sentries or if spitfire is still worth it.
 
The Chakram build works nicely also.

Krider + cold build is powerful.

Krider + Lightning is a bit more tricky...

In all scenarios, I keep Cluster Arrow in my arsenal with ballistics for rocket damage.

Some of the damage rolls are insane on ancient weapons. I got a blackguard ancient that rolled with almost 4300 damage last night. Rerolled a socket and put in emerald straight 20% damage increase over my furnace. And crazy thing it rolled with a 36 level reduction so level 34 toon can use it.
