There's never really been "a point" to Ladders in D2 nor Seasons in D3, in my opinion.

Although to my understanding D2 seasons were relatively stable, whereas in the first season of D3 they had two major revisions, first mid-season they completely screwed up the leader board by nerfing the rate of pylons so basically the leaderboards became completely worthless halfway through the season, and now a month before the season ends they wipe the gear progress from the season with ancient items.

The actual term "season" won't have much meaning except to simply arbitrarily segregate the player pool since both leaderboards and gear hunt got essentially wiped during the season.

Yes, but, luck of the roll when dropped. Items are predetermined when they're dropped, not when identified (just to be clear on how that works).

Ran 5 rifts at T4 last evening. Four of the rifts dropped nothing. The other rift pulled me 7 legs/sets. None of them were Ancient sadly...

I may play some more tonight. I really didn't like the item skew though. Made four rifts completely stupid...

My lightning DH is useless now.... until I find a Krider.

Tasker is not BIS now I think and switched it for a good magefist and went full fire build. I might still try and do a cold build and test things out.

Takes a little bit of adjusting 🙂

My M6 build as it was is now useless.

I didn't have enough other gear to switch things up enough, so they're not even T6 viable anymore.

My barb, on the other hand, just picked up enough raekor's to try the now changed bonuses. I see single target still being a massive weakness (because with groups, you never run out of charges). And I'm still only T4/5, so it's not like my experience will matter. But it's different and seems fun enough for now. No dragging, but I think Vile Ward will still be BiS shoulders.

It was kind of crazy, I had at least 5 ancients dropped, and was able to craft an ancient weapon relatively quickly. My luck did not transfer to other toons, though.

I also found one of the secret goblins. It's called something like a malevolent tormentor, and it dropped LOOT. In a T4 rift, it dropped 2 legendaries, a ton of blue and yellow loot, and an above average amount of gems for a typical treasure goblin.

The thing l'm liking so far is definitely the goblins. I'm currently hating M6, especially since that was my only T6 toon. Spenders just cost too much, and even with 3 turrets out, the bonus to my skill damage was not enough to kill anything fast enough before I had to stock up on hatred again.

four of us in the AT clan got two of those goblins last night within one rift that had multiple goblins and dumped a ton of gems. it took us 5 minutes to pick up all the loot with trips to town because our backpacks (whatever they are called) would fill up.

Someone said something about a bloodshard goblin. I wonder what else there is.

Was indeed quite a sight to see the floor covered in mats and gems!!!

cant wait to find a Goblin with shards!

I need a Krider!!!!

We had 2 of the hordes of treasure goblins twice in the same rift tonight.

Then later I had a horde playing solo.

I think there are slightly more legendaries dropping.

Did get a third pair of hexing pants for one of my other barbarians too! 😉

I only had time to run two rifts last night and ended up with around 3 set items and 8 or 9 legendary items. I used to run IV rifts for speed runs but with the patch I'm now running V rifts just as fast as I used to run IV's with my FC barb. Out of the two rifts I got one gem and one mat goblins.

There was one spot in a rift I hit last night that had 4 different goblin types adjacent to each other. Lots and lots of loot.

Though, I also got stuck with some dude who just wanted to run through the rift and avoid all the elite mobs since he was just shard-goblin hunting (which I did see a couple of). That was kind of annoying.

So I put the Hexing Pants I got on my 3rd barb, he has raekors, vile ward, and strong arms. Packs melt.

Was able to play my DH and mobs seems to die faster now. Definitely need a Krider or Quiver that allows spenders to generate hatred to make use of M6. Switched out my TnT for Mara gloves, chest and bracers to Aughilds, and I'm killing mobs faster in T6 rifts. I'll test out a Grift later tonight too see if I can get higher than 32 solo.

All in all, I definitely like the active playstyle of the new DH. Spec'ed out with Ele Arrow, Multi, Companion, MfD, Sentry, Vengeance.

I don't know if it's just me, but the clan won't pop up for me. I press 'n', nothing. I do Shift+o, the clan spot is blank and says something about being unavailable.

I can't even try to leave and request to re-join.

We kicked you out and blocked you! Sorry. Didn't get the message? >_>

Besides the changes to M6 I think some other behind the scenes stat or affect happened. Before I got any new gear (Did get a socketed Ancient demon machine later), 5pc with Granduer, I was getting 4x my typical crit maxes even without a sentry. I get time to get all 5 down and I have seen 8x-9x. 1 weapon upgrade (Demon Machine Ancient with socket) and I was getting 14x on my highest damage crits. T6 was doable but cumbersome for me before. Now it feels like T4, with slightly increased chance of random face-plant.

I got a blood shard goblin last night. Very disappointing because i spent all points trying to get a 1 handed weapon and got 10 weapons none of which are legendary or set items. Shenlong's Fist of Legend will be the death of me. i have gotten 5 Shenlong's relentless assaults and now that i am not using a combat staff i lost my wave of light cost reduction so i keep running out of spirit, Shenlong's set would really help with that.

Ran about 6 ritfts with some of the clan last night and best I got was an ancient Heart Slaughter. We did get a mat goblin and PClark99 gave me a gift for my Furnace🙂

It was fun running with a full group again though.

Something did get fubared with the clan interface after the patch. I was tagged with the clan still but the clan window was blank as if I wasn't in one.

I would trade any (or all!) of the nearly dozen Shenlong pieces I think I've found for a single WKL lol. I'm not even sure I would use a WKL at this point (actually I think I would still, prefer it over my slow ass Odyn Son) but it's the principal of the matter! Think I've gotten every fist wep twice or more except a single WKL D:

Played a little bit last night, my monk still feels good, ran a T4 and T6 rift just to see and seemed fine. Shard of Hate procs like crazy again at least on monk, it seemed to be going off on everything, even my spirit generators, basically 100%.

Can't say the lure of Ancient loot matters to me very much but it's still fun to run through a few rifts here and there just for funsies.

i would trade you if we were still allowed to.

Ancient items are cool but when you already have set bonuses it is hard to justify most of them. I have 3 ancients but only one that i can use due to set pieces. My Monk has Inna's set, Sunwuko's set and half of Shenlong's set so i only have 3 open items i can put ancients into. But it will be cool when i create my season 2 char.

Logged in last night after a very long hiatus; stopped before season 1 started. I have no legendary gems, no new sets of anything other than Sunwuko (no staff though). I was able to transition my dual-wield lightning monk (thunderfury + fulminator/Odynson) into a pretty effective T5 build. T6 is survivable from a toughness standpoint and most elite packs are dealt with easily enough. Only the toughest give me problems. My barbarian is neutered along with my crusader. Ugh...hate being so far behind the curve on things.

Will try to log in some tonight as well...I'll ping the clan chat to see if anyone is around that has a spot...I think I can contribute well-enough in a rift/grift.

Not sure if I should start a season 1 toon now or not...what's the best (quickest/most effective/efficient) way of leveling up season toons now?

A staff on a monk would have been a really slow fighting build so I am glad they got rid of that balance.

You can join us on T6 rifts and we can help you level up. PCClark and others have done that for me. I can not only survive now but i contribute. Whereas when i started T6 rifts my only goal was to survive.

You're talking about starting a season 1 toon or bringing my current 70 monk?

came back last night - liked what I saw so far - wish the blood shards would not have a cap though, that's annoying
