Just found my 2nd set item ever (4th legendary in the last 5 days!) Zunimassa's marrow chest piece. 3 sockets and 180 int, worth sumphin for sure. Having 375% mf is fun times.

For about 50-60k, you'll be able to get into a 550-600dps 2 hander with 200 int.

It never would have occurred me to use something other than wand/orb combo. Even though I think it slightly strange to see my Wiz lumbering around with a big mace or axe, thanks for the heads-up.

Nope, I think 400-450 is my max and I've timed it once or twice. I'm probably slowing myself down picking up magics/rares and selling them every 5 minutes (about 15k gold per load). That and my gold pick-up radius sucks at just 6'. I dumped the other 7' for something like 20% gf and dps.

I also stick to Act 1 because the concentration of elites is higher in certain areas (get NV 5 quickly), I die less (almost 4k gold cost per death), I find roughly the same quality of items as in Act 2 since I can't do Act 3 without dying less than 2 times an hour, and I can load up on gf/mf gear.

Ya, not dying is ultimately one of the key ingredients to make gold and exp the quickest. I've streamlined running A1 so much that I'm up to 10.7m exp/hour and 188k gold/hour (I use 3 pieces of Cain's Legacy for the bonus 30% exp). I start with the Wortham quest at 1.7, do festering woods wp, the 3 crypts by the cemetary, run backwards to the entrance of the cathedral from the gardens, then continue on through the rest of the act to Wortham once the majority of those densely concentrated areas are cleared.

I can't imagine running less than 15' pickup. Even at 20' I still have to backtrack a tiny bit and that's annoying to me. Tracing over your steps again is another big thing to reduce how much you're getting per hour.

Also, I don't clear entire areas. I usually continue in one general direction and if that's the completion path then so be it. Keep on truckin'!

Stopping to identify and sell all that stuff is really slowing you down. It's not worth it because maybe 1/1000 items in A1 are worth keeping or trying to sell. Until 1.0.5 makes items roll based on the monster that drops it, this stuff is 99.9% garbage.

I have yet to see a legendary drop in any of these A1 runs though (probably about 200 runs?). I'm guessing they made it an incredibly small chance since that act is so easy and more people are probably doing it. Do you see many/any?

wow using the 2h exploit buffed me to 88k dps, i'm just steamrolling thru most packs now haha i can imagine all the guys with >150k dps, they must just ww forward never having to circle and mobs just die

I can probably do 1.5 million experience every 10 minutes with full NV and a star-ish ruby. My run is usually: festering woods for 4 stack NV quick, Northern Highlands (?) to Leoric's Manor bee-line, Butcher run, then Souther/lower Highlands.

It's the density of packs that affects experience the most. Unfortunately, highest density is in Act 2 and 3 where I can't wear much gf.

Speaking of, shite: I can finally comfortably do Act 3 with some deaths using all dps gear, which puts me at 72k dps. The Towers of ____ are wastes of time, but the Arreat Craters are total experience whores.

And double-shite: I found an Andariel's Visage. It has something like 8% AS and 6.5% crit chance, and 140 dex. This one helm bumps my dps by 10,900 dps. I want the gold/money, but OMFG! My dps is 80k with it on. The worst part is that I need the ruby for the experience bump, so won't use it most of the time, but it rocks!

Nice! Andariel's Visage is one legendary (of all of them, haha - I have zero right now) that I plan on putting in my final build. Grats on that find. 😀

Ya, I've been running A3 with another monk that's wayyyy better geared than I am (I'm basically just an overawe-bot and survivor since I'm built for tanking more than most players are). I checked one of our runs and they were slightly less in gold and exp gained, but nowhere near as boring as running A1 solo. Also found a couple legendaries so far. We start with 3.3 (Keep Breech) and run through the rest of the act. We both notice a higher chance for legendaries if you do longer runs [anecdotal].

damn you.. I've been praying forever to find that so I can start my set. Since, I'm a WD primary.

Good find.

Sold my other ring for 81m which I bought for 52m, now up to 810m

1.05 patch notes has been upated, they are doubling legendary drop rates.

So....with the changes coming up, and Gold being..what, .60/mil?

I'm just going through Inferno Act 1 with a Barb I built out with gear just playing; have almost 20kdps and 5 or 6k armor. Should I:

1. Just keep playing normally
2. Buy about 100mil and deck out my Barb with better gear and be able to Inferno easier, which will provide a better/faster chance of acquiring items to make up that investment.
3. Just buy the gold, sit on it, and resell it after it goes up after 1.05?

I found an Andariel's visage in the first 2-3 hours of 1.0.4 and just sold it a few days ago for 15m gold.

It had 242 dex, I think 9 ias, and 6.5% crit, but +25% fire damage taken. No socket though.

i found one also, increases my dps 9k but no socket makes it useless as i need the xp gem for paragon farming hah

I found two legendary items in the same game within 5 minutes of each other yesterday. Both crap (Tiklandian Visage and a bad Skycutter), but it was cool to see nonetheless.

So i tried to reach plvl 75 earlier.. 5 minutes into my run, my computer broke down. Guess it can't take 5 months worth of diablo 3 😀

RIP q6600. I bought myself a new CPU+Mobo - i5 3450, asus rog motherboard, 8gb ram. Thanks to RMAH 🙂

I'm liking how the changes are working out, but what I don't get is how often blizz defends the game at release by talking about things being ok during the beta testing.

I can't recall being able to progress much pass normal SK, so not sure exactly how all these mid and late game deficiencies could have been justified as such.

It's a matter of scale. Internal testing went through the entire game, but at most it was probably only a few hundred people. That's a miniscule amount of data and feedback relative to the millions of people playing through that same content when the game actually came out.

Good find.

I play a WD as well and had purchased a Marrow when one dropped for me in Act 3. Was more than happy to sell the new one (similar roll to the one I bought) for a bit more than I had paid for mine. Unfortunately, that Marrow has been the only good item I've found in 1.04 through paragon level 22. Taking a break from D3 right now to play Borderlands 2, though I'll switch it up when I get further in.

Mines is +16% fire damage. Since I can't take more than 1 to 2 hits anyways, that won't be too big a difference.

That's kind of cheap at 15m gold. I sold a Cinder-something unique chest armor for $15, which was 9m-ish gold a few weeks back.

Great stats, but no socket makes it a hard sell at a higher price.
