Can't believe people are seriously paying blues on the RMAH....More motivation to get to 60. Good thing work is over in 30 min.

I cant tell if these new developments have increased or decreased my desire to play this game. Everything I do in the game now will be equivalent to a dollar value. Its like work. And I already work 8 hours a day sittin on my ass.

But then again that would be awesome to find that one drop that instantly means you're 250 bucks richer. Kinda cool, I've never experienced something like this before in a game.

Back in the day I sold a windforce bow for DII for ~100 bucks on ebay. Also sold two WoW accounts for over $1000 each before the expansions. There are always going to be people with to much money on their hands.

not a real fan of the RMAH. i personally will never buy anything on it. but i guess ill put some stuff up for the "what the hell"

i just go back to the way i played d2.. just farm and hope for new items..

i can sell stuff using the paypal option, but not the battle.net balance. i have a dial-in autheticator and everything too...

I've not read this specifically, but the dial-in authenticator might not count. They've said previously that the dial-in isn't anywhere as secure as the mobile app/physical authenticator and might even look into renaming it because of this.

yeah no kidding. People are out of their minds listing stuff at $250.00! 1-2 bucks is as high as I would go if I even decide to do that! (probably not though)

There's quite a bit of stuff that is well below level 60 listed at $250 buyout. I guess there's nothing to lose by posting it, might as well hope some dumbass comes along.

Thats not what they said, what they said was, it flat out doesnt work for D3 and isnt supported.

Well, I'm a bit surprised by the stupid price of listings... but I guess people think it beats 20 hours of gold farming?

Didn't I read that you have to pay to list stuff on RMAH, even if it doesn't sell?

Have to double-check Blizzards agreement and authenticator thing. Will sell, not buy when I start using the RMAH.

No, I believe it was Blizz is going to take a percentage off the top, just like paypal.

They take $1 per sold item (15% for commodities such as gems and gold). However, PayPal takes another 15%:

In the real-money auction-house, for equipment such as weapons and armor, a fixed transaction fee will be deducted from the seller for each piece of equipment successfully sold. This fee is assessed only if the item is sold. For commodities such as crafting materials, gems, gold, and other “stackable” items, a 15% transaction fee will be deducted from the total sale price. Specific details related to the transaction fee for each real-money auction house are as follows:

AUCTION HOUSE
(CURRENCY) TRANSACTION FEE
(EQUIPMENT) TRANSACTION FEE
(COMMODITY)
USD $1.00 15%
MXN MXN 12.00 15%
BRL BRL 1.80 15%
ARS ARS 4.50 15%
CLP CLP 500 15%
AUD $1.00 15%
GBP 1£ 15%
EUR €1 15%
RUB 50 RUB 15%
Note that additional fees apply for players who choose to receive the proceeds of their successful auction via PayPal™ (in regions where this option is available). See the Functionality section of this FAQ for further details.

well I just took the plunge and listed my bow and andariels helm for the current prices. hoping to cash in before everything plummets. wish me luck folks, and i'll be almost a hundred bucks richer!

And a withdraw fee to take your money out >?

Looks like win-win ( for bliz & paypal)

Definitely.

Blizz gets $1 + 15% to transfer to paypal, paypal gets more people using paypal + their normal 15%.

So to sell an item is essentially 30% + $1 to do so.

No, Blizzard has mentioned that they are considering changing the 10 listing cap to something like 10 listings for free, then pay for extra listings. But we have not heard anything about that in awhile now. I think first they want RMAH to stabilize and make sure there is no obvious exploits like the one found in the GAH.

What kind of protection do the sellers have in terms of lets say it was purchased with a fraudulent credit card.

The full backing of Pay-Pal Fraud Protection System*

*the person who is easiest to collect from pays (AKA the legit person takes the loss)

Ohhh... That's probably what that was about. I was skimming (hard?) the RMAH agreement while installing the game, and didn't know what was what.

Looks like I'm fuxxored concerning the RMAH for Paypal - use a prepaid phone and it's from Virgin, which rents other companies' towers. Prepaid apparently works if it comes from a direct service provider though.

I'll just screw around with the battle.net one. Again, no smartphone and the only Apple product I have is a shuffle, so Android emulator here I come!
