I really dislike that. Rare's drop from random shit, elite packs, but spend 15 minutes whittling down and beating Diablo in NM? two blues, gems, gold. BS!

I've found three legendary items to date, with about 100 Hours spread over three characters. It really feels like luck at this point.

It all has to do with MF too.
Lets say I roll butcher with no stacks~ i usually get limited amount of blues with possibility of a rare.

with 5 stacks I get 7-12 blues and 3-4 rares. (this is in inferno).

I can't switch out my gear fast enough to MF before popping butcher so I didn't want to risk getting one shot.

I do butcher runs in less than 20m and rarely get anything worth even selling nowdays, I honestly think farming gold or going to a3/4 is the only way to make money now.

Can anyone explain the valor stacks to me? Not quite understanding it. All I know is that with them you get more loot. What are they, how do you get them?

Pretty simple and a quick google probably would have answered it.

At level 60 only, you just get a valor stack for elite packs killed which raises your MF whatever percent it is. You can get up to 5 stacks.

Forgot to mention I'm at work. All sites related to gaming are blocked.

15% to gold and magic find per stack, so 75% max with 5 stacks. Also currently with 5 stacks bosses are guaranteed to drop 2 or more yellows. This will change soon to only 1 guaranteed yellow, but the guarantee will also apply to elite packs.

edit: you get 1 stack per elite pack killed. duration 30 minutes refreshed each additional stack, you don't lose it if you die but if you change your spec in any way it is lost, also lost if you leave game or change to the next act.

I don't even worry about Magic find on my gear. It is a bonus stat for me. Guarantee me gold and blues to vendor and minimal repairs and I'm happy. 5 stacks generally leads to good profit in the long run anyway.

Umm, that's exactly what it is. No different than any other loot game in existence.

My apologies for not spelling it out completely for you. Even with +MF, it doesn't seem to matter.

When I spend time advancing through especially difficult portions of the game, and get shit in return, I get irked.

I have 254mf but I only use that mf for popping clouds and resplendent chests.

It's impossible to effectively kill stuff with MF gear, unless you have it setup stat wise.

I think my farming 5 stack build only has about 60-70mf.

I thought MF and GF only affected monsters killed, not chests and other breakable loot? Am I wrong?

I commend you folks with 100-200 mf (i assume you guys are talking pre NV buff?). I don't know if I could manage that without seriously gimping my stats

you can... if you can afford to buy them

a) item with crappy stats but with mf = 100k
b) item with good stats but with no mf = 100k
c) item with good stats and mf = 10mill

LMAO

That is epic

In DII LOD, you could bring down a boss almost to the point of dead, hit 'W' to switch to your 2nd gear slots (always equiped with MF gear ) then finish the boss. There is no second gear slot for D3. However, can you switch to your MF gear during a fight? I haven't thought to try it yet.

I would organize your bags+gear on the top row then you can right click thru your gear then it will switchout. But you need to be safe otherwise 1shot.

Ya ive died more than a few times because ive either been switching gear or just get out of switching gear and get 1 shot, must frustrating thing when your killing a boss.

i miss the 2nd gear set with W...that was indeed a cool feature (and a bigger inventory)
